Aaah! How crazy, huh?! After a long time of working hard, the collection of co-branded socks with the amazing brand that is, Mooi en Lief, is finally here! I can now introduce to you, Mooi en Lief by Tolly Dolly Posh! It’s pretty darn weird to look at it now, because all of these designs were just once scribbles on a piece of paper. I honestly can’t thank Mooi en Lief enough for the amazing experience and opportunity I have been given; thank you! 

As you can probably tell from the lookbook images above, the collection is very 70s inspired. I’m actually a really big fan of the aesthetic from the decade, and it just so happened that it fit in nicely with this years popular trend. A big shoutout to Papa Posh for his patience on the shoot day! It was ridiculously hot and I’m pretty sure we both started melting half way through. You did good!

I wanted to make sure the designs were simple, wearable but of course a little bit different, so there are some hidden smaller details throughout each pair. I’m not quite sure I could pick a favourite as altogether, they look pretty awesome (if I do say so myself!). Also, I hope you like the names, I had a lot of fun thinking them up, and I’m sure I’ll discuss them further in my next few blog posts.

Speaking of those posts, I will be doing 1 seperate post per sock so you can get an even better feel for the collection as well as an opportunity to WIN yourself a pair! So stick around, okay? I’m going to stop rambling now so you can go and buy yourself a pair! It would be highly appreciated and you know, if I ever did get super mega amazingly famous (hehe), you’ll always have a piece of TDP history… *wink*

FYI, I am writing this now as a 13 year old! Yes, the teenage years have hit, and I am no longer a ’12 year old blogger’ 🙁 Never mind! Anyhooo! You may have realised there has been a bit of a lack of my fashion designs recently. I have been very busy with sorting things out so I have finally, just got round to doing some! I decided I would do some with a bit more of a meaning, and something which has been inspired by something, instead of just random ideas coming from my brain!

‘Coat of Arms’ Jacket & ‘In The Camo’ Top & Skirt:I decided to mix 2 military style designs together to create a sophisticated, yet edgy and sport luxe look. I want the jacket to be a sort of felt fabric with a nice silk lining. The red would resemble the classic army colours, along with the blue. The gold detailing on the back and on the cuffs would be like bullets, and the cross over at the back would almost be like how soldiers carry the bullets. The Camo skirt and Khaki top would both be cotton, and could be worn in may different ways. I would probably price the pieces like this: Jacket – £80.00, Top – £15.00, Skirt – £25.00 and Boots – £65.00.

(Left) Feather Cape, Burnt Out Dress & Fire Tights. (Right) ‘Civilian’ Dress:I believe these two designs are very relevant for the things that are happening at the moment. With the wars abroad, I thought mixing the two together would be a current and unique idea. Like my ‘Sunflower‘ Cape, this is very similar, but it has ombre feathers and resembles the flames. The dress is simple and would be great for summer. The black dip dye at the hem resembles the ashes after the flames. With the tights being flames also. The second design is meant to be inspired by the ‘civilians’ of the wars. They are surrounded by violence, yet this dress would be beautiful on anybody, as it I think it would compliment most skin tones. If I could have a model for the dress on the right, it would have to be Cara Delvigne, as I think she would look stunning in it.

(Left) ‘Splashing Waters’ Dress (Right) ‘Green as Grass’ Swimsuit:You maybe thinking how these two have anything to do with the ones above, but they do! The water is something which is so important when it comes to tough times, as it maybe hard to supply etc and the people may not be able to get the water as a risk of going outside. I would want this dress to be a chiffon/taffeta dress, with big puffy shoulders, just like water when it splashes. This swimsuit is meant to be the grass and food, and how once again it may be hard to find in difficult situations like war. I would like it to be quite retro and be quite snug fitting, so it could suit most shapes and sizes. It may look simple, but I think a lot more could be added to make this much more interesting.

*Deep Breath* After yesterday’s excitement of being on BBC Radio 4 (click the link to listen), I thought I would post a few designs. I haven’t posted any designs in a while, I’m sorry. I’ve been so busy recently, but now I have had a few moments to just chill, do some drawings, and show them to you! I decided to put together a ‘Mini Design Collection’ for S/S 13. It includes 5 designs, which I think would be perfect for Spring time!

BATHING SUITS & COVER UP: I really love mixing purple and bright colours together, because purple isn’t that dark, but it is sometimes quite hard to make it look right. I think adding a mix of florals to it, is one of the ways to make it look fabulous! I didn’t go with the classic triangle bikini top because I believe that they aren’t very practical. Especially for smaller girls who perhaps don’t have the biggest of… well, you know where I’m going. I also think the ‘bandeau’ style is more comfortable, and will also look great with a cardigan and a pair of shorts. For the one piece, I went for a classic style, but with the same print, because I think it’s good to have 2 of everything but in slightly different styles in your closet, then if you feel like covering up a bit more, you can with the costume! Speaking of covering up, I don’t know whether you can see but on the right, there is a pale lavender see through cover-up on top, again with the floral print. I want the flowers to be more opaque, so that they stand out more. (I admit, this may not be perfect for the weather at this precise moment. Unless you want to turn into an ice cube…)SEQUINS, OMBRE & WHITE JEANS: My first design I posted to you, I included a yellow maxi shirt, which a lot of you really liked (Thanks!), so I decided to do another one, but a ombre version. I really want this pinky/purple to be my classic ‘TDP’ colour. I have also added the belt the same but in a blue, which ties up with the bralet. I was thinking of keeping it just the bralet and the skirt, but I decided that I would add the same pale lavender see through fabric, as a top underneath. The bralet is covered in coloured sequins which I think could either be worn with a leather jacket, or as a nice piece for the beach. On the right, the same see through top is used, you may think its opaque because of the skin tone, but it is the same. The trousers would just be plain white denim, with the ‘T’ initial on the back pocket. This may look like a very basic design, but if I were to do more detailed drawings, I would try and include a little surprise which would make it extra unique.FLORAL & SEQUIN SHOULDER DRESS: This would be my more ‘exciting’ design of the mini collection. It mixes together all of the designs. The floral print makes it great for an evening dress, but I would make the shoulders detachable, so it would also be great for casual wear. The sequin shoulders mean they match the bralet, and also add a bit of glitz to the design. You have to have glitz! If I were to choose a celebrity to wear this at an awards, I would probably choose, Kelly Osbourne, because I think she would really suit it!
(By the way, I know that the colour swatches look like they have just come from a test page of a printer) Haha 😀

If I were to choose the make-up for the collection, I would go with a blue and green smokey eye, and a really nice blush colour. On the lips I would go for a really sheer and glossy coral colour, and with the hair, I would go for all of the above styles! For music I would go for Icona Pop – I Love It. It’s so catchy, and it has a really good feel to it!

Design #2: This design is based on the Monochrome Trend. I wanted to design something which was simple, but also had a slight bit of difference. The design on the left has a pop of neon which I love! The one on the right is so basic, yet it has the dramatic shoulder ‘pom poms’. I love the Oxblood colour as well, and I think it works well with black and white. If I had to choose the fabrics, the neon would be more of a piping material, and the skirt would either be real leather of PU. The clutch on the left would be suede, and again with the neon piping.

I would be very grateful if you did not take my designs for you own use! I draw them my self (100%) and put them through Photoshop. I hope one day that they will be produced an will have my own label on them.

Here is my first design on my blog! It is hand drawn and then put through Photoshop! I hope you like it! This look was inspired by when I was feeling down, and my dad said to me to think up a dress under ‘Sunflowers In My Heart’. The black feather cape is the center of the sunflower, and the long maxi skirt are the yellow petals, so it’s kind of the other way round, but I like it like that!
