DIY: Hair Chalking Tutorial

By August 5, 2012 DIY & Lifestyle

I have been dying to do this for ages, and I tried with my sister last Christmas, but we got the wrong Chalks 🙁 Finally, I have the right ones, and here is a simple tutorial on how to do it yourself! Before you take a look though, here are a few Tips….

1. If you have blonde hair, do not use the water technique.

2. Make sure when you have the chalk in, that you don’t wear best clothes, because it can come off.

3. When applying the chalk, make sure you have plenty of towels around you!

4. If you are not sure whether or not your hair will just stain. Try it out on a tiny bit of hair, and wash it out afterwards.

5: DO NOT USE Oil Pastels! Use Soft Pastels which you can get from most Craft & Art shops.

How To Rock The Parka

By August 5, 2012 Fashion

A big trend this season, has got to be the Parka Jacket. It really binds in with the Tomboy trend, and the over-sized trend. I have compiled 3 different outfits using 3 different Parkas, so you can find out ‘How To Rock The Parka’, and which type of Parka will suit you. First here are the three Parkas which I have used…

Here is the first Parka from Topshop…

PU Trousers £42.00, Cutout Back Tunic £32.00, Andreas Wedge Lace Up Boots £70.00 & Chunky Zip Leather Glove £24.00 (All from Topshop).

This Parka is a big statement, and very over-sized. Using chunky boots, and baggy clothing, you will look super chic. This style is very unique and will look like you have spent 1000s on it.

White Print Molly Jeggings £35.00, Pink Speckled Boxy Top £25.00 & White Lace Up High Tops £35.00 (All from River Island).

This Parka from Warehouse is very sporty, so you need to match that style. These jeggings give the look a very edgy, cute, and funky style, and with these High Tops, it looks great.

Dark Red Super Skinny High Waist Jeans £42.00 (River Island), Blue Check Pocket Shirt £25.00 (River Island) & Lucy Ballet Flats £15.00 (ASOS).

This Parka is quite casual, meaning you can pair it with simple pieces. This look is great for people who worry about experimenting, but maybe want to try something different. This Parka has a unique touch to it, which people will love, and will die for one themselves.

Tangle Teezer Review: Juicy Fruits

By July 31, 2012 Fashion

Recently I got a Tangle Teezer. I wanted to just try it out, and see what difference it makes. I looked up ‘Tangle Teezer Review’ and there didn’t seem to be many, so I have decided to do one.

Most people might think that this is quite a childish item to purchase, but actually it’s not. They do have kids ones, but this one is for anyone. There are 6 different colours in the Juicy Fruits collection, and they are all very bright. The one I have is bright Purple, and very bright Orange. It is easy to hold, but even easier to drop, as there is a matte, and shiny surface to it. The Orange brush part, is very good. The bristles are very flexible meaning they don’t catch on the hair. It works extremely well with wet hair, so you can brush your hair back, and leave it to naturally dry. With dry hair it is quite good, but it does tug like any brush would. It is good for doing pony tails, as it doesn’t make any bumps. I actually got mine for free from my salon, so if I did have to pay, I wouldn’t of, because it doesn’t get rid of big knots and tangles, which is what I get. For general use though, it is good. I wouldn’t recommend this to people with greasy or oily hair, because it makes that really clear. For people with thin, silky hair it is good for making your hair smoother, and straighter. Now the ratings…

Ease of Use: 6.5/10 – Easy to drop, and does tug.

Size & Travel Use: 7/10 – Quite small, but not small enough for your handbag!

Look & Style: 8/10 – Funky & New.

Overall: 7.5/10 – Quite pricey, but worth a try.
