Photo Editing Softwares: Aviary & Tadaa

By December 20, 2012 General

I am trying to find a new effect software instead of using money grabbing Instagram, so I have put together a review for you guys. Here it is…

Aviary

Aviary is a really fresh way of doing photo editing. It is really easy to use, and free! It is for IOS, Android, and Windows 7 Phone. It is super easy to use. Unfortunately I cannot screenshot it because the phone which it is on, home button has broken… meaning I cannot! So, here are a few pictures from Aviary’s site itself…

As you can see above, there are effects, editing tools, and frames. You can download different effects and frames, depending on what they are, depends on the price. At first, you get a screen (on the iPhone this), which you can flick through all your photos, then you click on the photo or Edit This Picture. You can then choose from, Enhancement, Effects, Frames, Stickers, Orientation, Crop, Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Sharpness, Draw, Text, Redeye, Whiten, Blemish, or Meme. So there is a wide variety on things you can do. I really like the way this app looks, it is clear, and simple, and you don’t have to sign up! So, nobody can steal your pictures or, sell them! My favourite thing is the Meme tool. It’s pretty much a tool so you can put those like caption things on the picture, like you see a dog looking funny and it says ‘Sup?’. I also like how it is really easy to choose frames, and effects, all you have to do is click! And, of course you can take a picture on the app and then edit it as well.

CLEARNESS & OVERALL LOOK: 8/10 – Really easy to look at, and you can find your way around easily.

EASE OF USE: 9/10 – Super easy to use, like super easy.

WORRIES?: 1/10 – I don’t have any fear because you don’t have to sign up! But you can still share.

OVERALL IMPRESSION: 8/10 – Really good, and simple. Easy to use, and does good stuff! Oh, and it has a Meme Tool, so that’s fun!

Tadaa

Tadaa again, is free. But, if you want some of the features, you must sign up. It allows  you to put filters on certain parts of a picture, focus on a certain part, and take a picture with the effect already on it, and make your pictures even better quality. My favourite part is that you can take pictures with the effect on it at the same time. Also, you can snap away, and then edit them later. Here’s a snapshot (Picture from IphoneDarkRoom.com)…

As you can see, you have the choice of many effects, but some you need to sign up to use, you can add frames, change the brightness, use the focus tool, and change saturation. At first I found this app extremely hard to use, so you have to get use to it. It is quite good quality, and you can make a picture look really good, but if you find things hard to understand, this is not for you. Again, you have to sign up to use certain effects and tools, so that is a negative, but it will do if you don’t want that hassle, or the worry of perhaps, getting your pictures sold! 😉 You can actually draw around an area, and it will focus completely on that, which I like, so say, you’re watching something with a crowd,  you can edit it so, you are only focusing on the attraction. Also, you can edit pictures from your camera roll too. I believe this app is only on IOS at the moment.

CLEARNESS & OVERALL LOOK: 6/10 – It’s a bit confusing to look at.

EASE OF USE: 6/10 – Not that easy, but you get used to it.

WORRIES?: 4/10 – If I want to use an effect or tool, I might have to sign up, but I don’t want to do that!

OVERALL IMPRESSION: 7/10 – Quite good, and cool tools, but not very easy to use, and some things aren’t available without sign up!

TDP Awards 2012: The Wonder Woman Award

By December 9, 2012 Fashion

I have decided that every year I will do TDP Awards. Including: The Wonder Woman Award, Best Dressed, Best Brand, Best Magazine (Fashion & Beauty), Best Trend and Best YouTube Channel. These will not be official awards, so no prizes will be awarded, just a little congratulations on this blog. So let the awards commence…

(Picture from Elle Magazine)

Yes, the Hunger Games honey is my Wonder Woman of The Year. The reason stems from when my sister picked me up from school, and said ‘Would you like to go and see the new film, The Hunger Games?’, and I have never regretted my decision. I said yes of course, and my new idol is definitely that one person, who I could’ve said no to seeing in one of the biggest films in the past 5 years. As in the first image, I said she has been a brilliant role model for millions. What I mean is, she didn’t go to acting school, she still lives with her parents even though she is earning over $10million a film. She has pretty much just come from a normal girl who gets good grades. She lives in Kentucky still, and she has even said that she would feel weird living a giant mansion. It shows that whatever you come from, you don’t have to change, you can stay who you are, but live your dream. She also totally true, and herself, she hates it when she says something wrong, and she never acts. Except from on screen, obviously! Then I said she was a great fashionista. SHE IS. Look at the pictures from Elle Magazine, she is stunning. That is the only word for it. S. T. U. N. N. I. N. G. Stunning. So, check this space for the next Hunger Games. Or… go watch Silver Linings! I would like too, but I don’t think it’s in France… aww…

Kate Upton in Vogue: Hardly A Heffalump

By December 7, 2012 Beauty, Fashion

Now this may have came out like 2 days ago, but I still find it interesting. Firstly, let’s look at the picture…

Kate Upto was given approval by Vogue after the editor saying ‘When I decided to shoot Kate for our first cover of 2013, it was to kick off the year with a young women who is not a stereotypical fashion model – although, lets face it, she’s hardly a heffalump!’ Now, I know that is quite nice, saying she isn’t ugly, or anything, but it’s kinda harsh to all the not such beautiful people, who can’t get on the cover of one of THE biggest magazine’s in the world. It’s like calling all the general public heffalumps. Yes, she isn’t perfectly slim, like they said, but she is amazingly stunning, and she does have great curves, but does that mean they have to call ‘us’ heffalumps? If you’re getting what I mean, then great, otherwise, you are beautiful, and you have probably already been on the cover of a magazine. Oh, and BTW, nobody’s a heffalump. Everybody is beautiful 😉

Garnier Ultra Doux Coconut Oil Spray: Review

By December 7, 2012 Beauty

Unfortunately, this post really, only relates to those in France, or any other country in which this product is sold, so UK residence, you may find it hard to try out! Anway, on with the show…

Garnier Ultra Doux Coconut Butter & Oil Spray – Around €3 – 4.00

Me and my mum were trying to find a cheaper hair oil for my knotty hair, we had been using Orofluido, but because we have moved, we can’t get it without paying of €40 or paying the UK price and postage, so we then found this. As I said, you cannot buy this in the UK, but you probably can get it delivered using the FR site of Garnier. So, what it is, is a Coconut Butter & Oil but in a spray, so it is much finer, and you generally don’t get big oily patches. Also, you don’t have to rinse it out, and it has an amazing scent. I usually use it by spraying it in when my hair is still wet, or using it when my dry hair is a bit knotty. I make sure I comb it through otherwise it will make my hair greasy all over! I have found that it’s formula means it will work for over 2/3 days, because I have found my hair easier to brush through since I have used it. The unfortunate thing is, that it can leave oily patches, especially on the crown of your head (i.e the place in which at the top of your head before your skull drops down and around?!), which is really annoying, so I am definitely not going to put too much on again, I will now use around 3-5 spray/use. Compare to Orofluido, it works quicker, and works for longer. So for the price it is so much better. But you must be careful about applying too much, even if you think 1 spray is nothing! This stuff is powerful!

EASE OF USE: 8/10 – The spray makes it very thin and it goes along way in 1 spray!

OILY: 7/10 – Again, 1 spray does a lot so it can make your hair oily!

LENGTH OF TIME per USE: 8/10 – It seems to be still working, it has been working for 2 days now!

OVERALL: 8/10 – It works well, it is thin, it does everything right, and it last long! Well Done Garnier!

Sorry for the UK Folk you can’t get it, but I could always set up a store… haha! No joke… if you do want it, just ask! 😉
