With the news of the release of a new album, and the recent release of a new single, David Bowie is back. I actually got a request for this post, so I’m doing my job, but, I think it should be done anyway. It would be hard to say that David Bowie is trendsetter because he isn’t, he’s nowhere near a trendsetter. It would be hard to say that he is also ahead of all the other male stars, but again, he’s not at all. David Bowie is an icon of the icons. He is the person who makes the icons them. He moulds men’s fashion and women’s fashion, he is the core of the fashion world in many ways. (Images found via The Daily Beast & Pinterest)

The classic look is obviously the red hair, but not everyone can rock that. But that’s the point, Bowie can pretty much rock every look out there. No matter what it is, he’ll look good. Style Icons can work most things, but never this well. That’s why Bowie is such a star, he took unusual looks and said to everyone ‘Try this.’ They would try, look okay, but never as good as the king. So, to celebrate the return of the amazing style icon and singing sensation, I have created the ‘Bowie Capsule Wardrobe’, 1 for the guys, and 1 for us girls. But, first lets get some inspiration…

I am also terribly sorry for adding this hair spray, but now you can have a female version of the red hair! Woop! Also, these latex leggings are like perfect, and so are these shoes, Topshop has really done it for Bowie fans!

If you’ve been reading for a long time, you will know that sometimes I review things from my mum’s stuff as I find some of her stuff a lot of you will relate to. One of these things is Foundation. Now, my mum has naturally oily skin, and finds it hard finding a Foundation to stop her looking shiny. So recently she did a bit of a bulk order of bits and bobs, and found a Foundation. This one is the Rimmel London Wake Me Up SPF 15 Foundation in Ivory.

This Foundation is one of those things which is perfect for some people and the worst product to use for others. For people with oily skin is great, because it can make your skin look naturally matte, and not powdery. My mum finds it hard to pick out ones which don’t turn out looking ridiculously pale, but this one looks great. It says on the back… ”Our first foundation that visibly reawakens and illuminates skin with a radiant glow and a flawless natural-looking finish. Instant anti-fatique effect with peptides and a Vitamin Moisturising Complex.” The packaging is also nice, it is small and sleek, and is a nice colour. I generally have been in love with Rimmel recently.

As you can see (hopefully), there is a really nice shimmer too the Foundation. It also spreads out really well, and is really blendable. It also smells quite nice. It has a similar smell to the Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter, which is good because you don’t want a horrible smell on your face, which can sometimes put you off a really good looking Foundation. It is also really light, you don’t even feel like you’re wearing it after a while.

BLEND-ABILITY: 8/10 – Blends well, and spreads out well.

COLOUR & TEXTURE: 8/10 – Nice colour, very natural and feels light and smooth. Plus, it has a nice shimmer to it.

SCENT: 7/10 – A nice scent, similar to some S&G products.

OVERALL: 8/10 – Very good product, especially for oily skin.

The other day (when my sister was staying) she told me that you can make really good Lip Scrubs by using Honey & Sugar, so I looked it up and investigated, so, I tried it out, and here’s how you can do it!

Okay, so the ingredients you need are: Honey, Olive Oil (Optional), Vaseline/Lip Balm (Selection Shown), Natural Crushed Sugar & A Small Container.

I used my Rosy Lips Vaseline, so there would be a slight tint, and also just so (perhaps) it looked a little better…

This is from the local area of where we live, and it is handmade! This is the Sunflower honey and it is really sweet, and doesn’t have that bitter taste some honeys have.

The reason why the Olive Oil is optional is because it is either a substitute for those who are maybe allergic, or don’t have honey. Plus, it also has nice goodness in it for that added bonus!

The container I used was an old Yoghurt jar, which is quite small, and you could fill it if you wanted. You could also use old lip balm containers, or plastic containers left around.

For my sugar I just used natural brown sugar, and made sure it was crushed. The better the lumps and grittyness the better the scrub will be.

1. Add a teaspoon of Vaseline/Lip Balm, you can add as much or as little as you like, but I found this was a good amount.

2: Then add about 2 or 3 teaspoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, this will make your lips even softer.

3: Next add 1 teaspoon of honey. You can use squirty honey, if you like, but set honey can make it thicker.

4: Finally you want to add about 2 teaspoons of sugar. The more gritty it is the better the scrub. If you put too much it will make it too gloopy and thick.

This is what it looks like before you put it in the fridge.. (kinda gross, right?)

5: Put it in the fridge for about 10 to 15 minutes to make it set a bit more.This is not one for the faint harted! The finished product…

This is before I put the scrub on. My lips look dry and they have peeling skin.

With the scrub on. It sort of has a tint from the Vaseline, and it also has a slight shimmer. It tastes quite good, but if you hate Olive Oil, don’t add it!

After I used it. My lips look softer and feel softer. I found that the dried skin came off easy, and they feel a lot lighter. Obviously, using this once wont work, so use it every day for at least a week.

All these product will help you with premature ageing, and damaged skin. The Origins Moisturiser has had many reviews, and great feedback, so I would get it whilst you can! But, I really like the Neal’s Yard one, it looks so cool! But, how can you use it on your eyes & lips? Looks interesting as well…. (Oh, and I am sorry they aren’t budget, I wanted to do more Premium ones for this post).

So, the other day my mum came home with a Magazine, and when she opened it up, it was totally different to anything we had ever seen before! It was WAD or We Are Different Magazine. It was actually a special edition, but I think any edition of it would be cool! It is basically a Fashion & Lifestyle Magazine which has articles with French & English writing, so anyone can read it, and it has some interesting pictures, and it came with a poster from Eleven Paris. So, here’s just a little round up of it!

This poster is of Lenny Kravitz for Eleven Paris. He was Katniss’ Designer in the Hunger Games, if you don’t know him.

These are all the seperate booklets you get. ”Bottom, Tops, Accessoires, Shoes, Underwear, Motion, Lifestyle & Joker”. You also get a Magazine Holder, but we don’t know how to put it together, and it’s very small.

Okay first of all, I have to say that I did not eat all the Forrero Rochers by myself, there were 6 other people eating them. Secondly, I would like to say that this is not a good post for those on a diet, as it involves eating chocolate. Thirdly, I would like to start the post… So, yes, it involves eating a whole box of chocolates, preferably Forrero Rochers, and a box which has a chocolate ‘holder’. The other things you need is a label, some Make-Up and some Jewellery!

This box is perfect because it is great for putting on display, it’s quite small, and it’s gold, so it’s extra pretty!

So, as you can see I filled all the little spaces with small items like earrings (my mum’s), rings, and a few tiny clips and pins. I then filled the middle with my MUA Artiste Collection which fits perfectly in the center space.

See, they fit perfectly! This gorgeous ring is the perfect example!

Plus! There’s a secret compartment! Okay, wait, how romantic would this be, if you’re boyfriend put an engagement ring in there and note, and then you saw that. That would be amazing… (There you go boys… 🙂 )

For the label, I cut out something from my Company Magazine, and PVA-ed it on.

Here’s just a guide on where you should put things! Obviously you don’t have to do it like this!

This post is especially for you bargain hunters. Those of us who are holding onto our pursestrings this credit crunch. It’s all about, how you can find better things, in the shops which smell of moth balls, and are full of the t-shirts in size 26 in the powder blue colour, you never thought you would even think of touching. Yes, you thought it right. The Second Hand Shop. The shop of dreams. The shop which is summed up in one phrase, ‘Don’t judge a book by it’s cover’.

 Second hand shops or Charity shops are so over looked. These shops are usually placed at the end of the high street, or the ‘dodgy’ end as we used to say in Cheltenham, next to the old cinema which has been closed down for over 30 years, or the public toilets, I don’t even need to explain them! But, sometimes, your trip to the worst bathrooms in the world, might just be your ticket to your most treasured item of all time. Also, most of the time, they are Charity Shops, so your doing a lot more than going to a M&S (who have recently lost their designer, who worked for only 5 months!) to get the same jumper. To be honest, I reckon I have more Charity Shop clothes than I do high street. Recently, I came across my first French 2nd Hand Shop, and my mum found me one of the most amazing coats ever, and I also found a classic hand bag, which I have actually been wanting for ages. Okay, it may not be a Chanel handbag at the dirt cheapest price, but it’s still a bargain, €8 to be precise. But, it’s not just basic 2nd Hand Shops which are amazing, it’s the Premium Pre-Owned ones, which may be more expensive, but I think you may just come out with something…

Bath Frock Exchange is obviously in Bath and has been running for over 25 years, it was previously known as ‘Mrs Simpsons’, but was taken over in October, and is now even better. Their ambition was to brighten it all up, and put in things that they never thought they’d be able to afford. They are still trying to source specific items, and premium brands, so if you have an old Chanel handbag not in use, pass a message over to them! Bath Frock Exchange is great, because they also have Beauty Rooms, so not only can you go and see what they have, but you can relax and take some time out. Also, it’s not just for us girls, it also for you boys! Yep, they do pretty much everything. From day to evening wear, massages to menswear, you are sure to have come out with something. So, I got the lovely people there to message me across some pictures, and now I am going to do a couple of outfits with their amazing pieces…

This Aquascutum blouse from Bath Frock Exchange is perfect, because it works so well with the Dip Hem skirt. Add some creepers, and a nice biker jacket (which goes with anything), and you will look amazing! Metallic Madame!

This look is really sophisticated, and simple. These trousers will look effortless and adding the pointed heels will make it look even better. The Jaeger Mac is great, because it is printed, and this S/S, Prints are Perfect!
