My Style: See Through*

By September 13, 2016 My Style

It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted a fully fledged outfit post, My Style or ‘editorial‘, so before I crack on with fashion week content, I thought I’d keep you in the loop with what I’ve been wearing recently. I’ve been rediscovering old gems in my wardrobe, starting to transition into autumn and have been picking up some more second-hand treasures…

WHAT I WORE: Mesh Grid Top (Blue Vanilla)* // Grey Sheer Hem Slip Dress €6.00 (Jumble Sale) // Shark Purse (ASOS) // 1B99 Dr Martens (Mastershoe-MyShu)* // Rings (Various

The amount of colour I wear has definitely dropped by a fair amount in recent times, so I find myself gravitated towards darker pieces that are usually in minimalistic shapes, like this slip dress that I spotted on the back of a door at a jumble sale. I’m so glad it caught in the corner of my eye because it’s something I never knew I needed but is almost something I’ve unknowingly been looking for.

I think the location of its original home put me off at first (an old lady’s living room – so it was probably owned by an elderly woman before me), but I think that’s something that you have to look past when it comes to secondhand shopping, because really, if I hadn’t had mentioned it was secondhand – I totally could have pulled it off as a high street piece, right?

There’s just something so effortless about being able to literally slip it on, whether that’s on its own or layered on top of something…

  LOCATION: Senigallia, IT  🇮🇹

…which is what I did, this time around, with an item I haven’t worn in a while. Due to its almost plastic texture, I don’t wear this mesh grid top very often, but I’ve kept it in my wardrobe for, as I mentioned, layering. The dress is slightly lower in the neck than I’d usually go, so if I’m in the need for covering up, adding a thin layer underneath which doesn’t take away from its fit can be quite useful. I also don’t want anything to take away from the straps, because they’re doubled up and it adds that touch of ‘sophistication’, I suppose.

I didn’t go completely colourless either! I know most people associate pastels with spring, but in my opinion, icy, cool tones work really well in the cooler seasons too… not that it’s particularly cool in Italy right now; I think my frizzy hair is a testament to the humidity!

I believe my way of accessorising this outfit is what caused people to stare at me in what I would class as a fairly ‘normal’ outfit (but who cares about normal, eh?). Yes, that is indeed a shark shaped purse. I’m not sure if I’ve featured it on my blog, but it was a gift from my brother and is one of those more wearable novelty items, even if it can barely fit my essentials in it. The grey matches up with the mesh floral print within the dresses hem, and the silver matches my rings because I’m officially a big ring person.

The ring on my left middle finger is now a permanent ring… I even have a tan line forming, and I’m quite intrigued to know how long it will be staying put for! Years, maybe?! My Dr Marten’s are also a fairly permanent fixture on my feet because the weather is cooler now, so I can get away with wearing them without my feet boiling out. Sad news, though; there’s a small bit of stitching which has come apart on the right zip, which is a shame because I haven’t even had them for a year yet! The first Dr Martens fault I’ve ever had! I’m definitely going to be getting in touch because that’s obviously a little sad.

How would you have worn this dress? What have you been wearing recently? Let me know in the comments!

Have you checked out my #16in16 feature yet? A campaign by Take Part all about what it’s like to be a 16-year-old in 2016. Take a look!
I’ll be back soon with, erm, what I think is going to be an LFW illustration every day! We’ll see how that goes…

Changing With The Seasons #3 – April, Spring*

By April 19, 2015 Changing With The Seasons

This blog post was featured on i-D Magazine!

It’s that time again! Spring has sprung so I’m here with another Changing With The Seasons outfit post! If you’re new here then you won’t know that you guys voted for a piece of clothing for me to style across 8 months of the year. You chose a navy skater skirt this time around! I’m gonna’ show you how to dress for spring in this post, and I have a feeling you’re going to ‘heart eye emoji like this’.

WHAT I WORE: Emoji Print Top (Primark) // Cherry Playsuit (Primark) // Skater Skirt (H&M) // Leopard Converse (Footlocker) // Emoji Pins (Emoji Shop UK)*

OK, so I know this outfit isn’t extraordinary and is pretty darn casual but I basically just threw it on. Surprisingly enough I’m finding this whole “Changing With The Seasons” thing quite challenging which I quite like, so I guess there will be those outfits which are just a bit… ‘hmmmm?’…if you get what I mean! It’s still fun though right, even if it isn’t anything too special?

Instead of just going for the normal skirt and top combo, I added my Primark cherry print playsuit for an added layer and a print clash. I think the neckline of the playsuit compliments the shape of the top and even the prints seem to work hand in hand! I mean, who wouldn’t buy an emoji top? Who wouldn’t!

how to dress of spring ootd fashion blog emoji shop ukI think this outfit is missing something to really pull it together. Perhaps a jacket or a bag…? What do you think? I think perhaps if the skirt were a little longer it would have worked a bit better, but I’m okay with that! It’s definitely not missing emojis though! What is your favourite emoji? I’d say mine is the dancing lady; so sassy!

Speaking of emojis, I discovered the awesome Emoji Shop UK the other day and they were awesome and sent me a few pins to trial out. They’re awesome. I can now officially express my ’emoji mood’ with everyone at any time.

how to dress of spring ootd fashion blog emoji shop ukWhat a perfect time to make use of the shoe emoji! I really thought I’d grown out of my Converse but when I slipped them on for this blog post, they fit?! My feet are weird, but they look pretty cool in yellow leopard print. These are super comfy (as are all Converse) and add that splash of colour and touch of skater style to what I’m wearing. I like them a lot and I must start wearing them more!

Here’s the video for you! I know this is weird to say but I actually kinda’ pushed myself to put this post up. I was in a bit of a rush so I basically threw the outfit on, didn’t realise that my hair was in a frizzy mess and that one of my sleeves wasn’t rolled up properly. My sister said to me “Be the change you want to see” (I want to see people being themselves, because what else is more perfect?!) and she’s right.

This is a little message from me to you, to just be yourself. I didn’t feel great in putting this post up but, this is me. This is me on the day when I’m a bit rushed for time because a thunder storm is coming, so I just threw on something that looked kinda’ colourful. So don’t hold back even if you don’t think you’re perfect. Be you 🙂 😛 😀

My Style: He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not*

Sound the alarm bells! These pictures weren’t taken on my drive way! Hooray! Prepare yourself for a very rare treat of a colourful backdrop, and the very first glimpse of summer! Yay! Okay, in all seriousness I really am excited for these photos. My family might not be too happy I dragged them around trying to find somewhere to take them but I am! 😀

When the sun comes out, come out. For some reason it’s like my inner stylist pops out as soon as I can leave the house without a jacket, and I’m so glad. I really did think I’d lost my mojo for picking out cool outfits but I think today’s pickings are quite good. I would say that what I’m wearing isn’t to everyone’s taste but I’m okay with that. Speaking of being okay with that, would you mind clicking off after this post and filling out a quick survey I’m doing for some research? Tah!

I recently received these bizarre yet super funky Jonathan Aston tights from MyTights.com, and I knew I had to show them off in full form, so I went with my KENZO shorts (probably my favourite ever jumble sale buy) on top. I then added my cool (kids club) jumper 😉 I think the mix of 2 floral prints and 2 bold slogans is an interesting combination… what do you think?

This outfit shows that I’m obsessed with blue. It’s probably my favourite colour because it’s bold, versatile and suits every mood I’m in. My wardrobe seems to be full of blue floral prints and it just seemed to work in this outfit. It’s also told me that I need to go to some more jumble sales because they seriously do have hidden treasures. I mean… look at my shorts?! I’m pretty certain they were only €1.00!

My sunglasses are freakin’ awesome too. The shape is growing on me and the print is too. Of course just like my jumper, they’re from ASOS; Ahh, I love ASOS… I mean I LOVE ASOS.

So I suppose I should celebrate this jumble of an outfit! It’s full of rediscovered jems, interesting tights (that I’m also learning to love) and shorts which give out those spring/summer vibes. Here’s to making up outfits in the form of late night doodles and to posing infront of brightly coloured doors. Roll on the summer! 😀

My Style: A Glamorous Accessory…*

By November 12, 2014 My Style

YAY! It’s time for another OOTD! You guys just love these posts, so I’m glad I get to post them! I’m quite happy with these pictures again which is a good thing, but the even better thing is the fact that very soon I will have my hands on a new lens! So exciting 🙂 You guys give me the opportunity to improve my photography, and I’m so grateful. If you’re wondering, I’ve purchased the 35mm lens (I currently use a 50mm), and I couldn’t be more happy! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this post…

WHAT I WORE: Teddy Textured Jumper (Glamorous)* // Grey Structured Skirt (Glamorous)* // Metallic Dr Martens (Mastershoe My-Shu)* // Black Floppy Hat (ASOS) // Gold & White Necklace (Claire’s)* // CASIO Sheen ‘SHE-3030GL-5AUER’ Watch (Casio)*

Ever since this skirt and jumper combo slipped through the door, I have been obsessed. They’re both very autumnal, but they are so versatile and I can see myself wearing them all the way through the year. The jumper is this weird fuzzy, teddy bear material, which I think adds an awesome layer of texture and dimension to the outfit. The skirt has actually been on my radar for a while… I am in love with structured skirts, so when I saw this, I snapped it right up! The lining is actually a deep burgundy red colour, and looks awesome when it sneakily flashes in the wind (how can I right that without it sounding weird?!). I knew straight away what I was going to wear it with, and I think I nailed it (can I say that?)… and yes, I know… I’m wearing navy and black in the same outfit… somebody call the fashion police!

I thought I’d whack in a mini review in this post because I’ve always been intrigued by Glamorous. A while back they emailed me asking if I’d be interested in working with them, and it was a bit of a hassle, but finally (I mean like 4 or 5 months later), I’m here now, and I’m pleasantly surprised! My items arrived ship sharp with free delivery, which is pretty darn awesome! They both came packaged well and fit perfectly, so I would have to say I would definitely recommend looking into them, even after the hassle I had with them previously. I like to be honest on this little old blog, so there you go!

Let’s talk accessories though… a while back I was sent a bunch of goodies from the Claire’s Katy Perry PRISM collection, and to be quite honest I have only really gotten round to wearing the pieces now! I knew that as soon as my beautiful new watch arrived (more on that later), that I would be wearing this necklace non-stop! The colours match perfectly, even though the watch is actually rose gold (I know… ROSE GOLD). I think it’s the little touches that really make an outfit come together, and this outfit is full of them! Oh and look at my gorgeous Dr Martens making another appearance… jeez, I love these shoes SO much! They’re just perfect and fit my style so well at the moment. Cannot rate them enough! Don’t forget my  floppy hat too! I’m so glad I purchased it, as it’s been the best thing as the weather’s got cooler, love love love!

And finally, we have the main star of the show… my gorgeous watch from Casio Sheen! I’ve never actually been that much of watch wearer, but after receiving this, I think I maybe converted. I think one of the main reasons is because I am very slim, I have to reach for the teen/tween style ones which are just a bit too young for me, and not really up my street, because they tend to fit a bit better. I was worried this wouldn’t fit, but to my surprise, it actually fits like a glove! It has a different clasp than usual, but it makes wearing it a whole lot more comfortable. Although it is a bit of a pricey piece, it truly has made me fall in love with the whole ‘arm candy’ thing. It’s just right, it’s not too showy, or too simple, and the rose gold just tops it all off.

Are you a watch person? Have you tried out Glamorous? Let me know in the comments! I love hearing your thoughts 🙂

My Life, My Style: French Exploration

By August 18, 2014 DIY & Lifestyle, My Style

Well hello’ there ladies and gents. I decided it was time I did a bit more than just an outfit post and took some lifestyle pictures too… so do excuse the rather cheesy use of a comma in this post title… it sounds like some sort of bad ITV2 reality show! Anyway, lets get on with this… oh and wish Papa Posh a belated Happy Birthday seeing as these pictures were taken on that day!

my style asos footlocker converse diy floral crown

The first place we visited was a place called Auch. We’d been there before but only in the winter so it was so weird to see it with real, actual, living people wondering around. There’s a massive cathedral, and so many tiny little streets to wonder round. The thing about France is that you pass so many random, freaky things every time, it makes it a real adventure!

my style asos footlocker converse diy floral crown

Coming out of Auch we stumbled across this huge Bric-o-Brac center… full. of. junk. It would be the sort of place to go to if you wanted a really bohemian, mix match house full of random bits and bobs. I got a bit excited when I saw the clothes though, unfortunately there were no awesome bargains (darn it!), but it was fun to look around. Mama Posh and I jokingly decided which of the old arm chairs we would pick if we had to… I decided that I would go for the mustard ones, and perhaps the paisley one too. I don’t know, there’s something kind of cool about them?!

my style asos footlocker converse diy floral crown

my style asos footlocker converse diy floral crown

my style asos footlocker converse diy floral crown

We then found another weird place which was basically a ‘brocante’ fair (brocante basically means junk or odds and ends, just with a few more antique pieces thrown in), it had one bit which was a church full of really expensive pieces, really beautiful. I found this stunning mustard post box too… I must have a thing for mustard at the moment, it’s so pretty! To top it all off I had a Lipton Ice Tea after. It’s probably my favourite drink at the moment, it’s so refreshing! What’s yours?! Tell me in the comments… maybe I’ll discover something new to sip on!

What I Wore: Stripey Top (Saint James), Denim Camo Skirt (ASOS), Silver Belt (Unknown), Sunglasses (Topshop), Sunflower Floral Crown (DIY) & Leopard Converse Hi-Tops (Footlocker)

So let’s get down to business… the outfit kinda’ business! I know this outfit is kind of similar to my last outfit but who cares… we were travelling quite a bit and clothes are meant to be worn more than once, non? This outfit is pretty simple, a little french if you want to say that, with nautical stripes and a denim skirt! I haven’t worn this skirt in forever, and it’s about time I did seeing as it’s getting on the short side now. I’m not sure what else to say about this outfit… it’s kind of self explanatory in my opinion 🙂

my style asos footlocker converse diy floral crown

my style asos footlocker converse diy floral crown

my style asos footlocker converse diy floral crown

But on second thoughts there is always time to explain the details! Let’s talk about my new floral crown for example! I picked up some more false flowers from a jumble sale for about three euros fifty after some haggling, but my brother says the white peonies look like onions and now I’m self conscious that they do. Do they?! If they do, let’s just comfort my little soul and say the sunflowers definitely look like sunflowers! It’s my first DIY elastic floral crown and after 2 burnt fingers I’d definitely say I’ll stick to alice band ones…! Another cheeky OOTD with my Converse. I do love them, very very much.

my style asos footlocker converse diy floral crown

Well that’s it folks. I’ll leave you with this picture where I look really disheveled from sitting in the car most of the day. I’m also half smiling due to the fact people were walking past and I was trying to take a nice picture without looking really stupidly vain… ah well, c’est la vie! If you do like this kind of post, do let me know in the comments and I shall try and do some more when I can. Speak soooooon!

Sisterly Style: Balloon, Baby & Blue Hues*

By August 3, 2014 My Style

After my last post’s excitment, I have another super lovely post, and it features somebody who looks a tiny weeny bit like me… and a baby! Zazzy, a personalised jewellery brand asked me to try out their service and to celebrate International Best Friend Day (today!) at the same time, so I’ve wrangled in my sister for a double OOTD!

What bracelet would you design for your BFF… or sister?! Leave a comment…
sisterly style zazzy jewellery songs silliness and such

First let’s do a little introduction to my sister… her name is Saskia, and is also a blogger (at Songs, Silliness & Such), she’s erm… 12 years older than me and definitely counts as a BFF. Saskia is the mummy of little Diggory, my (pretty much) 10 month year old nephew (see his cuteness below). Zazzy asked us both to design bracelets for each other, and we are both obsessed! They’re brilliant quality and are perfect seeing as we are both pretty slim… adjustable bracelets are the best! I find it funny how we both went for gold… read on for why we chose the different symbols!

What I Wore: Crochet Top (Jumble Sale), Noah Noah Tulle Skirts £7.99 (Oxfam), Floral Crown (DIY), Jelly Sandals (Supermarket), Slogan Elastic Bracelets (Claire’s)*, Lip Necklace (ASOS) & Symbol Bracelet (Designed by Saskia @ Zazzy)*

I like the colour blue, and I like green, and I also think purple compliments them both very well, so this outfit seemed just right. Saskia kindly bought her and I matching lip necklaces, and seeing as my bracelet is matching purple, my DIY floral crown tied it all in. I love this little crochet crop top as it’s sort of bohemian, yet it looks funky and bright. My tulle skirts make another appearance of course, and some how feel a bit Hawaiian in this outfit?!

Saskia on Tolly’s bracelet: Ever since Tolly was just a baby we’ve had a very close relationship, with many conversations ending in tears of laughter (or hideous snorts). I choose symbols that would reflect this with the term ‘LOL’ and a cute smiley, and picked the purple chord to go with her blog header (because I know her blog is so important to her). Typically Tolly has said she’s going to use this bracelet as her sarcasm stamp – so don’t get on the wrong side of her or she’ll be holding up wrist for a swift ‘LOL’ ie – you’re not funny. Unfortuantely I think I’ve already been on the receiving end of one… Still love you though, and my bracelet too!

What Saskia Wore: Blue Maxi Dress (Boohoo), Necklaces (Rings & Tings)*, River Island Multi Friendship Bracelet, Spotty Flats (TKMaxx) & Symbol Bracelet (Designed by Tolly @ Zazzy)

At one stage I feel like mine and Saskia’s styles were quite similar…. we both went through a stage of loving aztec prints (I think we did…), but now our styles are completely different. Saskia loves simple pieces with pops of colour, as well as things which are super comfortable, so it’s quite a strong contrast. Although she doesn’t think it, she does have an eye for cute things, for example her spotty shoes she bought from our TKMaxx browse… I love them! They’re super cute, and seeing as they are monochrome, they go with most of her wardrobe. It is a simple outfit, but I like it! Pastel coloured cuteness.

Tolly on Saskia’s bracelet: Just like what Saskia mentioned, we do enjoy a good laugh, so I thought it would be nice for her bracelet to feature lots of smiles and happiness. I think it will be a nice reminder when she’s down (*cough* missing me of course) to just keep smiling. The star was another cute little symbol 🙂 I chose blue because Saskia seems to wear the colour quite often so it will match most of her outfits.

I really enjoyed doing this little outfit post with Saskia! If you want to see more of her make sure to check out her blog and Twitter. Pssst, have you seen my big news? I’m releasing my first collection… say what?! Speak soon!

(This post is not sponsored. Zazzy kindly sent me and Saskia a bracelet to style up, so I decided to do a nice little post featuring them. Read my full PR disclaimer here.)

My Style: Wearing Pink On A Wednesday*

By July 2, 2014 My Style

Sorry for the very un-original title of this My Style post, but it’s Wednesday and I’m wearing pink so, it was kind of obligatory… duh. I like this outfit and I hope you do too 🙂 Sorry about the weird blue glow… darn you white balance!  Make sure to leave a comment telling me how you would wear pink on a Wednesday!

I never knew I was a pink kinda’ person, but turns out, I really am. I had to wear my pink taffeta dress because I own no pink skirts… very tempted to make it into a skirt actually, seeing as it’s about 7 years old – no. joke. I love the contrast of the pastel and bright pink though, and the slogan top makes such an awesome statement. Plus, it’s kinda’ ironic, seeing as I’m a fashion blogger and all… lol.  What d’ya think? Too much pink, or just right? I’m thinking the latter, but not sure the French around here would agree.. I changed the dress for some trousers when I went out *hides behind curtains*

my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirts my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirts my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirtsWhen I was in the UK recently, I tried on this super cute headband in River Island, knowing that it was also on ASOS, so when I saw it for half the price in the ASOS sale, I bought it immediately. It’s adorable! I thought I would prefer the multi-coloured one, but I’m so glad I picked the pink! I also love the gold band… it makes it look a lot more expensive than it was! It’s also a great headband which can be worn with a topknot as it’s just small enough, which is very handy in these warmer months! Oh and FYI, the pool is up and running, and most days I take a dip! Fun, fun, fun!

my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirts my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirtsAs I mentioned earlier, this dress is kinda’ on the small side which means my denim shorts have to be worn underneath! I’m a big fan of denim at the moment, and these are again… adorable! I love the little trim and how it pokes out underneath the skirt… cute-ness! Speaking of denim… I really want a denim/acid-wash style drop arm vest with a high neck… anyone know of where to get one? Thanks if you do suggest anywhere!

my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirtsAnd finally… shoes! I wore my new Barbie socks (featured in my new haul, watch it here!with my jelly shoes, and I quite like the combo! Due to Primark’s bad packaging, when I pulled the label off the socks, it pulled a thread with it meaning there is now a hole on the bottom. Not very nice! I like them nonetheless though, and it just adds that little bit more pink to the outfit!

I shall speak to you soon! I have some exciting things in the pipeline, which I should be able to tell you about soon! The only hint I can give is that it will be the 2nd time in which one of my goals for 2014 will be coming true! Eeep! 🙂

My Style: Blue Blue Pretty Pleats*

By May 4, 2014 My Style

Before I start this new My Style OOTD, I would just like to say how happy I am with my blog right now. I feel very excited about the content I am pushing out and what I have to come. The only thing I would say is that I would love if you guys could give some more feedback! I’d love to know if you enjoy my recent posts as much as I do! It would mean a lot. Thank you guys! Love you all 🙂 Exciting news too… I just purchased some soft box lights for YouTube and taking other kinds of images *gulps* 😀

As soon as this gorgeous (and sheer – the reason for the vest…) blouse from Sugarhill Boutique arrived, I knew I had to pair it with a light blue skirt. Originally I was going to opt for my ASOS pleated midi skirt, but it was a bit crinkled and I was in a hurry, so I threw on my tutu instead, and I am glad I did! To be honest, this outfit is slightly out of my comfort zone in a way… it’s very floaty but I think the way I accessorised it, makes it more me and a bit more funk-ay! The blouse isn’t just how it seems though… it has other secrets which I will mention later on 😉 Ooh ooh, I’m wearing my hair how I used to ages and ages ago! I went through a phase of wearing it like this every single day and I’m falling back in love with it!

my style ootd fashion blog sugarhill boutique rings and tings my style ootd fashion blog sugarhill boutique rings and tings I TOLD YOU IT HAD SECRETS! HOW GORGEOUS?!
It’s beautiful! I didn’t even realise it was pleated on the back until I took it out the packet. I think it just makes it even more amazing. It looks like a normal sheer blouse from the front (with a cute little heart pocket and matching top button), but then BOOM! A pleated back! As you’ll probably know from the amount of times I have said, I’m on a blouse high, and this is such a gorgeous addition. It could be worn in so many different ways, even more casually as the back really does most of the talking. I think when the weather perks up a bit more (saying that, it was beautiful today), I will have to invest in a bandeau because my vest really doesn’t make it look particularly amazing… 😉 Unfortunately I cannot wear a ‘sex-ay’ bra because um…. yup… *cries with laughter*

Let’s talk accessories shall we? My beautiful sister (who I can now officially ‘plug’ because she has her own blog – baby/mummy related) got me this little gold necklace a while back as a present, and I think it is so cute because it has a little camera on (i.e a refrence to my blawg), and it looks adorable with the gold heart button! This outfit was probably one of the first times I have mixed jewellery colours too! I’ve always thought that gold and silver would look funny together, but I think my ring actually compliments the whole look!

I ordered these awesome (and now sold out) Topshop sunglasses along with two other things (haul coming soon!), after a wish I wished for (ha) got actioned on Crowdwish! If you don’t know what I am talking about, Crowdwish is a site where you can post wishes/vote for wishes, and the ones which get the most votes, will be actioned! I’ve so far got a £30 Topshop voucher, and one of my own personal wishes actioned! Pretty cool huh? You can literally wish for anything as long as you think other people will vote for it too… so don’t go wishing for your brother’s girlfriend’s aunty’s granddad’s godmother to be able to fly… I wish you good luck on that one! 😉 The sunglasses remind me of the Jeremy Scott wing ones, so I’m really chuffed that I ordered them!

The other day I slipped on my lovely ASOS SOLDIER heels to find out that I no longer fit in them… so I thought. I then realised that I had left the innersoles in them! *slaps forehead* I’ve been wearing them non-stop this past week, and I simply adore them. ASOS shoes are looking good at the moment! I believe these are no longer available, but if you’re wondering just in-case, they’re really comfortable and the chunkiness will toughen up any outfit! Oh and can we admire those gorgeous flowers? Such a beautiful array of colours!

That’s it for me folks! See ya’ soooooon! Only 5 days until the Company Magazine Style Blogger Awards shortlist comes around… let’s all keep our fingers crossed that TDPFashion makes it for the 2nd year in a row *crosses fingers, toes and any other ‘crossable’ body part* 😉

My Style: Venetian Masque Parade

By March 19, 2013 Fashion, My Style

A couple of days ago we went out to a town near us called ‘Castres‘ (Click the link to see what I got up to there, last time!) and we went to see a Venetian ‘Masque’ Parade, which at first looked terrible, it just looked like a few men dressed up on stage singing old Venetian songs, so we were pretty annoyed as I had bought my real Venetian ‘Masque’ to wear, and my snazzy-ma-gee camera to take pictures of the whole event. We decided to go round the corner to the well known ‘Musee Goya’ or ‘Goya Museum’ which is dedicated to the artist ‘Goya’. A few Police men passed our way whilst walking to it, and then we saw police cars, and people sitting on the side of the road… we then looked through the gates of the museum, and saw the most amazing looking costumes ever. Get in, I did have a blog post to write! Anyway, as you can imagine it was pretty exciting to find it all, so I took some pictures, and did an OOTD for you. Sono così brillante! (I’m so brilliant! – Sarcasm, okay?!)

colour colourarms colourclosephoto 1This dude, okay I officially love you man (Haha, that’s a film if you exclude the officially and okay), I love the prints and the necklace 🙂 This design actually reminded me of Daniel Lismore (Hi, if you’re reading this!), because of the amazing fabrics etc, maybe you could get some inspiration for the next collection?

cakes cakescloseWOW! I love cupcakes, and I love colour, again, I now officially love you. The colour of the dress was incredible, seriously incredible. You can see how much time and effort has gone into these costumes (They are all handmade by the person wearing them). I wish I could’ve eaten one of those cakes… yum! (I know they’re fake, a girl can dream)

photo 3 photo 4Now this lady, she was special. She played music through her head, you see that massive hat with all those amazing feathers in? Yeah, well that had a speaker in it! Heavy! Ouch! I really like the top, and actually I do like the skirt, I perhaps wouldn’t wear them at the same time, but I sure would love them both! #WANT.

photo 4 photo 5Stop right there (Thank you very much, I need somebody with the human touch)! I need those trousers. Need! I don’t want, I need them. They are so cool! I don’t even care that they have been worn by a man, I wish I could be him in that picture. Seriously, if anyone knows where I can find a pair similar, message me!

There are LOADS more pictures, here they are below in a gallery if you fancy a browse. They really are extravagant and I just love them all! You really should take a look:
