Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream SPF 30 (Light) Review

By September 14, 2012 Beauty

I recently applied for a tester of this new Maybelline BB Cream, and because of moving I didn’t think it would arrive, but I received it this morning! I am really happy I did, and you can see why below! You can get a free tester via me, if you message me saying you want an invitation for some samples, and then I will get it done for you, and then you just have to receive a message with the invitation!

1 – Q&A for BB Creams:

  • What is a BB Cream? Maybelline say that a BB Cream is not a foundation, and is not just a moisturiser, but is a lightweight cream that makes you look fresh-faced and perfected, and not ‘made-up’.
  • Why go for Dream Fresh? Maybelline also say that you should go for it because it is oil-free, and is water-based which means it is much lighter than most other BB Creams. There are 4 shades so you can find the right tone, and there is no fussing, no caking and no tide marks. It is just 8-in-1 perfection with SPF 30 protection.

2. Is the 8-in-1 True? What Maybelline says, and my answers:

  • Imperfections look blurred – Yes.
  • A Natural looking glow – Yes.
  • Fresh Feel – Absolutely.
  • Compliments Skin Tone – Definitely.
  • Skin looks smooth – Yes.
  • Hydrates – Yes.
  • Protects with SPF 30 – Yes.
  • Oil-Free & Non-Greasy – Yes.

What exactly do I think?

I have never used a Foundation because I generally don’t need it at my age, but I have heard about BB Creams, and I thought I should try it out. Maybelline has got it right! It is exactly what they say it is. It is so light! It feels amazing, and it literally feels like you aren’t wearing anything. I think it is great if your skin is pretty much fine, but you have little bits of red areas or little tiny spots etc etc. I really want to get the actual BB Cream, but for now inbetween the move, I will have to stay with these testers! I really do recommend this BB Cream, it is a Dream Cream!

Tint: 10/10 – Really compliments well.

Feel: 10/10 – Fresh, clear, light feeling, as if you’re wearing nothing!

Coverage: 9/10 – It is really light but blends so well, and is great for small blemishes.

OVERALL: 10/10 – I really want this BB Cream, and ASAP, I will be getting it!

You can buy this BB Cream from Superdrug for £7.99 but they also have a deal which means it is 2 for £10!

MUA Make-Up Review: Eye Make-Up & Lips

By August 24, 2012 Beauty

As you hopefully know, I have been out shopping to get a few products, a few meaning 2! In this review I will be including those 2 products, and also a few others which I already had. So, if you’re thinking of going on a purse friendly Make-Up Haul, keep reading!

MUA Mascara – £1.00 (Shade 4)

I love this mascara! I have had it for a long time now, and it is perfect! I like a natural, but long lash look, and that is exactly what it does. It may be brown, but you wouldn’t tell. The best thing about it, is that it does NOT clump, at all! It seriously doesn’t! I have tried Miss Sporty Studio Lash Mascara, and that was good, but it clumped, and was 5 times the price. For £1.00, you actually cannot go wrong. Even if you do think you really can’t spend again, just do it. It is well worth it, and there are many different colours.

Overall – 10/10 – Nothing wrong with it, it is perfect.

MUA Intense Colour Mascara – £1.00 (Royal Blue)

I have been wanting an eye liner pencil for ages, and I am glad I chose this one. I was going to get black, and play it safe, but I am glad I didn’t. The blue is very strong, but you can blend it really easily so it isn’t so dramatic. It just adds that little bit extra colour, and is great for when you don’t want to wear too much eye shadow. It goes on really well, and is very smooth. It doesn’t drag on the eye, and it comes with a sharpener in the lid, so no need to go out and buy one. This is a bargain!

Overall – 9/10 – It is very good, but maybe a little too strong a colour.

MUA Blusher – £1.00 (Shade 5)

You might think this looks really dark, but I think it is just the picture. I wanted this shade because I have tried Benefit’s Havana, and this gives the same sort of look. It has a pearly colour to it, and it very rosy, but not pink. I think it gives a natural look, but is strong enough to give a boost of colour and shine. It is best blended/applied with fingertips otherwise it will look to strong, and with a brush, it just doesn’t have the same pearly look.

Overall – 8/10 – It is nice, but you need to be careful about the amount you apply.

MUA Lipgloss Tube – £1.00 (Shade 2)

Again, this picture makes it look a lot darker than it is. It is really, a more peachy colour. I usually use it over the top of a Dior lipstick (Rouge Dior, 296 Beige Box Office), because it gives it a really nice shine, it works as a highlighter, and gives it a more metallicy, shiny look. You need to apply this gently, and with a small fingertip/brush, as it is quite strong. It is worth the price, but I wouldn’t necessarily, just buy it (as I got it for a gift).

Overall – 8/10 – Nice, cheap, and good for highlighting.

MUA Review –

Prices – 10/10 – The prices are amazing, and I think their most expensive product is £5.

Quality – 8.5/10 – Very good for the price, but isn’t as good as big brands like MAC.

Overall – 10/10 – Amazing for small budgets, and just for every day make-up, and perfect for cheap gifts!
