Kimi & Me Guest Post: Textures

By October 27, 2013 Fashion

Today’s guest post is by the lovely Christina at Kimi & Me, where she’ll be talking about all things Texture, with a small little thing by moi, too! 😉

Christina: I really love the fluffy jumpers and cardigans in Primark at the moment, they have become a very popular buy. So much so they have sold out in the Primark near me. It is the perfect texture for A/W, so soft and cosy to wear. Topshop also offer plenty of textured knits (I have my eye on a pink fluffy top). I would also love a faux leather skirt, as it would be such a fun staple piece to style. My favourite item (above), is the velvet check top from asos. The velvety fabric, and colours are such a lovely combination, and this top would be ideal for those Christmas parties (not long til it’s that time of year!)

Tolly: My favourite item from above has go to be the mesh top! As you all know, I love me some Tulle and mesh, so this is definitely a nice piece in my opinion! Subtle but eye catching. Really nice for A/W 🙂

Christina: Mixing/layering textures can give an outfit a whole new look, and feel. When it starts to get cold out, I love to layer different prints and fabric together, even if it’s just adding a scarf/stole.

Tolly: I love mixing textures, and Topshop have got it spot on! My favourite has got to be the quilted top! I know there is a similar one in Primark, so I’m keeping my eyes open for it!

DSC07901(Throwback to my last visit to the UK! The night of the Style Blogger Awards!)

So, basically, I am on another short little break! I am flying a very very very long way, across the channel, to… England – note: it’s only like, 2 hours away really… -. I am rather excited because… *dramatic dun dun dun* I get to meet my little nephew! 😀 He’s still pretty much newborn, so YAY! I’m a tad scared that I will crush him, in my first-ever-time-holding-a-baby cuddle, but… YAY! I also get to go shopping – PRIMARK *hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah* -, drink milkshake, go to the cinema, and just have an awesome time avec ma famille. PLUS. I have a SUPER DUPER EXCITING, OMG IS THIS REAL LIFE, thing happening, which sadly I cannot tell you about just yet, but hopefully *fingers crossed*, I will be able to tell you some good news 🙂 So yeah, overall I am verrry excited about this little break! Lisette’s DIY Simple Gold Tube Necklace

By August 5, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle, Fashion

Hello everyone! Today’s guest post is by Lisette from Lisette Loves (one of my all time fave bloggers)! She’s put together a cute and simple DIY, so enjoy!

Lisette: I spotted some gold tube necklaces and bracelets on various blogs, but I can’t seem to find them anywhere so I had a go at making my own. All you need is dried macaroni, gold marker pen, embroidery thread, and a toothpick.

Step 1: Colour the macaroni with the marker.
Step 2: String the macaroni onto the thread. (You can use a toothpick to help)
Step 3: Create a loop on one end of the string.
Step 4: Tie the other end of the string to the macaroni to create a pasta-toggle.

I chose to make mine with brightly coloured threads and layer them up together but you could string them onto a thin chain or fully string the necklace to create a more solid effect.

I hope you enjoyed my guest blog! If you’d like to check out my blog, click the links below!

Tolly: Doesn’t it look cute? It would look great with a plain white top just like Lisette has styled it above! I really do recommend checking out her blog, it’s one of my favourites! Speak soon!
