Rock the Maxi Skirt

By March 31, 2012 General

Here are 3 of my favourite Maxi Skirts out this spring, and they are all under £40! Take a look….

Long Skirt with Splits £39.99 (ZARA), Double Side Split Maxi Skirt £37.00 (Miss Selfridge), Shirred Midi Skirt £22.99 (New Look)

The best way to work long skirts are blouses, shoulder bags, and heels/pumps. Here’s a few outfit’s I’ve put together using these skirts…

Skirt from ZARA, Cream Tie Front Blouse £16.99 (New Look), Espadrille Wedge Heel £24.99 (New Look), Cat Eye Sunglasses £17.99 (MANGO).

The Tie Front Blouse gives this look a bit more edge, along with the glasses, which give it a Vintage vibe! Add some stud earrings and you’ll look extra cute.

Skirt from Miss Selfridge, Petite Vest with Asymmetric Hem £20.00 (ASOS), Squiggle Heart Stud Earrings £4.00 (ASOS)

This skirt is quite hard to work, but it is easy when you put your mind to it! Add layers, to create a fuller look, or Asymmetric tops, which work as well. Keep colour coordinated, and pick strong colours, or try colour blocking! Add a pair of ballet pumps, and a clutch, and a snazzy pair of sunglasses, and you’re set for the sun!

Skirt from New Look, Blouse £12.99 (H&M), Bag £7.99 (H&M), Boots £29.99.

This skirt can be worked so easily. Don’t be afraid to wear ankle boots, when the skirt is a little bit shorter than a Maxi. Also, these boots & bag look great together, and they just add that special something! Tuck in the shirt with a skinny belt, and add some gold drop earrings to really stand out!

Best Spring/Summer Fashion 2012 Campaigns

By March 31, 2012 Fashion

Vogue.co.uk have put together a portfolio of Spring/Summer 2012 Best Campaigns by designers, including, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Stella McCartney etc.

Now, if it’s a new collection for Spring, of course you want to show off the new designs and trends, but surely you want to infuse the visible signs of the changing season as well? I like how Louis Vuitton, Mulberry & Bally, have all infused the Spring/Summer theme into there campaigns, as well as showing off their designs; I especially like Mulberry’s ice creams and rock, it goes with the trends of the pastel colours etc. Some people may say that it’s more about the thing your trying to market, and of course, it is; But, if your model is wearing a stunning jumpsuit, a pair of high heels, and a golden clutch bag, in front of a blue backdrop, how are you meant to know if it’s a Spring collecting or an Autumn collection? Now, you’re probably thinking, well you just look at the latest trends or patterns on the jumpsuit etc. But, if you have your model in a nice garden with flowers and perhaps little Easter goodies, your obviously going to know that the collection is for Spring.

R-L: Bally, Louis Vuitton, Mulberry

So, should Fashion designers think more about their campaigns? Here’s the link to Vogue’s Best Campaign Portfolio > http://bit.ly/Htac7q
