Recently I have been watching load of make-up tutorials and videos on YouTube, and finding loads of cool ones. So, I have put together a list of Foundations, which I found were good (in the videos), and 1 or 2 which have great reviews.
After seeing the cutepolish tutorial on Chevron Nail Art, I came up with an idea! In my ‘Art Room’, as we call it, there are tones of stickers, and scrapbook things, so I delved into a box, and found some funky stickers. If you want to know what I did with them, look below…
Firstly, who doesn’t love Katy Perry? Secondly, if you don’t, you will now. This campaign for GHD, is amazing. It shows Katy Perry in such a different light, and she looks stunning. Take a look… (If you want to look at where I found the pictures, head over to Marie Claire)
It’s great isn’t it. Just stunning. I especially love the one of her with her ponytail, I love the look, it just looks like she has come out of a movie. Well done to GHD, you have done a better job than before…
Still very good, as these ones do show who Katy Perry is, but I think the way the new ones are done, is just great. I would love to know what you think, so please leave comments or tweets!
Sequin Trim Shift Dress £65.00 (Warehouse), Edge to Edge Soft Jacket £60.00 (Warehouse), Square Bead Multi Strand Necklace £26.00 (Warehouse), TREAT Suede Shoe Boots £65.00 (ASOS), Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick £14.00 (ASOS) & Benefit Hervana Face Powder £23.50 (ASOS).
If you haven’t seen ‘cutepolish‘ on YouTube already, you must. There are loads of videos for nail art, and they are all so good. This video, I especially liked because you don’t have to go out and buy nail art tools. I tried it out, and found it quite hard, so maybe you guys could try it out, and see how you get on with it.
If you get chance do it yourself, please tell me how it went by commenting, or even tweet me at @TollyDollyPosh.
The reason for this post is because one of the big trends this A/W, is big hair, which means you are going to need all the products in the world, especially the good ones! So I have chosen 5 products which I think are very good, and are worth the price.
A big trend from the Catwalks is the Patterned Trousers. In different styles, colours & prints, you are destined to find your perfect pair. I have put together 3 outfits, using 3 different trousers, but all the same accessories and tops etc. First, take a look at the trousers I have used…
Co-ord Tapestry Trousers £40.00 (Topshop), Jodie Trouser by Motel £48.00 (Topshop), Eastern Geo Print Trousers £10.00 (Warehouse).
Mixing simple accessories with statement pieces like these trousers, is a great thing to do. I love these toe cap court heels, because they look stunning.
This new trend is super cute! You don’t need to be a fashion genius to know what this skirt is all about, it’s exactly what it says on the tin! Yes, you got it, it’s short at the front, and long at the back! The reason I love this trend so much, is because it comes in so many different patterns, lengths and colours, so it is easy to find one which is perfect for you. I have compiled a Top 5 for you to have a look at, to find which one is reaching out for you.
I was looking at the cover for Marie Claire with Miley Cyrus on it, and I came across this video. It is quite interesting to know what inspires today’s stars, and what they like about what they where etc etc, so here it is for you to watch… It is a Flash video, so make sure you have Flash if you want to watch it!
You can find the full video, with stars including Blake Lively, at marieclaire.com
This Nailfinity Polish by Max Factor is one of my favourite polishes. It has such a nice metallic shine, and it goes on amazingly. I am not sure whether they sell this exact colour any more, but I know they sell the same but in Reds and Pinks. It cost about £5.99, which is quite a good price. Unfortunately, the metallic shine, means that if you go wrong, or you get a bit of mess around the nail, then it is quite easy to see, especially if you smudge the nail. You don’t really need a top coat for shine, because it is very shiny in itself, but you may need a top coat to protect it from chipping. It doesn’t dry very quickly, as it is one of those polishes which become sticky after 2 minutes of drying, so you have to be very careful. In a way it can create small swirls on your nails, if you look close enough, but also if you put too much on, those swirls can look like drips. Overall, it is a very nice polish, but you need to be careful when applying, and also when drying.
Overall: 8.5/10 – Very nice, but you can see every detail or mistake.
Colour: 9/10 – I love the colour, but the metallic is quite shiny, so you have to be careful.
Ease of Application: 7.5/10 – It goes on smoothly, but again, you have to be careful on how much you put on, otherwise it will be a mess, or it will be too light.
Smudging/Chipping: 7/10 – It smudges easily, even when it is pretty much completely dry.
