Olympic Fashion: Closing Ceremony

By August 13, 2012 Fashion

Yesterday we had to say farewell to the London Olympics and hello to the Rio Olympics, in a spectacular Closing Ceremony, it really did make you feel sad that it is all over (except from the Paralympics that is!). So this post is about a few things that I wanted to talk about, and see what you thought about. First, I would like to say well done to Es Devlin who was the costume designer for the ceremonies, because she did a really good job!

(From Left to Right) Lily Cole, Stella Tennant, Karen Elson, Kate Moss, Lily Donaldson, Naomi Campbell, Georgia May Jagger, Jourdan Dunn & David Gandy.

The picture above shoes the 9 models which strut their stuff last night. I must say, I absolutely love some of the dresses! I especially love Lily Donaldson (Wearing Vivienne Westwood!) and Jourdan Dunn’s dresses because they are gorgeous! It’s a shame they didn’t have more time to shine. Here’s some more pictures…. (Found via Huffington Post)

Lily Cole, Karen Elson, Kate Moss & Naomi Campbell.

Next up I would like to talk about Jessie J. Now, I don’t mind her, I have her CD, and I quite like most of her songs, and I also quite like her wacky style. BUT. ‘BUTT’. I am sorry but what she wore last night, was terrible. It showed her off a bit too much, and it just wasn’t classy in anyway. I am so glad that those models were there, she needs that inspiration! I think the worst thing was, that she wore 2 bodysuits that were both ‘nude’!

Lastly but definitely not least… The Spice Girls! They were brilliant, but it must have been very strange to be performing again, and especially in one of the biggest events yet!

I think Scary Spice worked the nude bodysuit a lot better than Jessie J this time!

I love Victoria’s look. It is very glamorous, and I love her hair! I think she looks great for her age, and I think she deserves a big thumbs up!

So, that’s it! I would love to know what you think about the ceremony, and I would love to know if you agree with what I have said!

Bulk Beauty Reviews & Recommendations

By August 12, 2012 Beauty

My mum is clearing out a load of make-up, so I decided to some reviews on a few things, that she had recommended.

This set is great! It includes everything for great feeling skin. I especially love the Moisturising Mist, and Body Lotion, as they both smell great, and feel amazing. The Mist is like a toner, but does more. The Body Lotion is great for dry skin, and is great for just relaxing! I have the smaller Body Butter myself, and I love it. It is great for after showers and baths, so you can lock in all the moisture!

Scent: 8/10 – Nice, fresh smell that is great for when you want to feel special.

Look: 9/10 – Soap & Glory always make their products look vintage, which I love!

Overall:  8.5/10 – This set is great, especially for gifts, or just for yourself!

Dior:

My mum loves these Dior products. The Airflash gives a healthy glow, and a natural tint, and is also very easy to apply. It is great for light skin, and oily skin, because it has a silky matte finish. The Bronzer is great as it only comes out very fine, and you can add however much you want!

Application (Foundation): 8.5/10 – Good, but not the best as a spray. (Bronzer): 8.5/10 – Again, good, but not the best as a spray.

Tint (Foundation): 9/10 – Light, natural, silky matte finish. (Bronzer): 8/10 – Good amount of tint and colour.

Overall (Foundation): 8/10 -Would recommend, but not the best. (Bronzer): 8/10 – Again, would recommend, but not the best.

Chanel:

My mum has some other Chanel Foundations, which she loves, so she recommended this one, because it is very compact, and small, meaning it is great for your handbag! It has great coverage, and goes on really well, and it has a nice matte colour.

Application: 9/10 – Goes on well, and the coverage is great.

Tint: 8/10 – Good colour, but not very strong. You may need to set with powder.

Overall: 8.5/10 – Nice, and natural, would recommend.

L’Oreal:

This is quite a good spray tan, but it doesn’t really go on very well. It can streak if you aren’t careful. It is a nice colour, which is a healthy bronze, and not a tanned orange. It runs out quickly, so if you are very pale, I would go for a bigger one.

Tint: 9/10 – Healthy, bronze tint.

Spray: 7/10 – Can be streaky, so be careful

Overall: 8/10 – Good, but I would only use it for a ‘touch up’.

Garnier:

This is a very good spray tan. It goes on well, it is a nice colour, and it doesn’t come off easily. It lasts a long time, and looks very natural. You may need to wipe around your ankles to blend the colour, because otherwise it will drip, and look like a tan line.

Tint: 9/10 – Healthy, natural tint.

Spray: 8.5/10 – Easy, and good coverage. Be careful on the ankles.

Overall: 9/10 – Very good, and natural. Also, very long lasting

I hope you enjoyed these short and simple reviews, and that you get some idea of these products!

New Purchase: Clear & Neon Sunglasses

By August 11, 2012 My Style

Yesterday I was browsing in Primark for some cheap bargains (like anyone would do), and found a pair of amazing sunglasses for £1! If you live in Cheltenham, or you have visited the store in Cheltenham before, you will know that there is usually 2 stands by the door with £1 items. I am so glad that I passed the exact stand that I got the shades from, because I love them! Below are a few pictures of them, and also a short review of them. They were basically in the sale, so I would be quick if you would like to grab yourself a pair.

I really like these because they have Yellow reflective lenses, which mean they look very funky, and also very contrasting to the Clear frames, which make them look very vintage. You can hopefully you can see that the ‘arms’ of the sunglasses, are Yellow, and I love that. For £1 they are an amazing by, and I think they are better than my Yellow ones I got from Claire’s for £7.

Price: 10/10 – Amazing price for what they are.

Colour & Look: 10/10 – Really nice, vintage kind of colour and style.

Make: 8.5/10 – Made ‘Primark’ style, but no faults or loose parts.

Overall: 10/10 – Really happy I bought them, and they go with most things.
