Miss Vogue Launches in May…

By January 25, 2013 Fashion

As a young magazine reader, this is amazing news! Yes, Vogue are launching a magazine for the younger audience. It’s going to be called ‘Miss Vogue’, and it will be released in May. (Image from Vogue)

I am really excited to see what it’s like, but I was thinking, what about Teen Vogue? Will it be for like 19-25 year olds, or will it be for girls who are just younger than a teen? Also will Teen Vogue be left out on the curb? I don’t know, anyway, here’s what Vogue had to say…

“All of us are really excited at the opportunity to create a slightly different Vogue for this readership,” said Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman. “We know how much that they love the magazine and so I wanted to produce something that would have bespoke content for a younger audience.”

I know Teen Vogue is American, but don’t you think their will be some kind of rivalry? I know it’s the same brand, and magazine, but I would find it hard to think that their are now two young magazines under one brand? I am really glad they’ve launched it, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see! *Fingers crossed that it comes to my local supermarket (Which is selling Teen Vogue at the moment!)*

What do you think? Do you think it will be better than Teen Vogue, or perhaps not as good? Are you excited? Leave a comment below to tell me what you think!

2 Outfits & A Voodoo Girl*

By January 24, 2013 Fashion, My Style

photo 1Voodoo Girl is a new clothing brand in which sells unique and fun clothing. Their prices are mid-range, but are really worth it for the quality. All their products are made in Europe and feel amazing! They also, come with a small little gift! They have an online store, but are also on ASOS too…. They do sizes from XS (4/6) to L (14/16).

‘VooDoo Girl’ created and inspired through years of travelling the globe. Katia brought life to her old rags by dying them whilst living on a yacht travelling from port to port all over the world.

The feel of my crop top is amazing! It’s really lightweight, but also very strong and durable material at the same time. The colour is brilliant! It is very bright, but also has that slight acidic wear sort of look. In the summer I will definitely be wearing this, as it is perfect! I think it looks great with the pastel colours too though, and you can layer it in so many ways! Crop tops are sometimes quite hard to work, but I find these too colours make it really simple! Voodoo Girl have some awesome pieces on sale, and I think you guys should check it out! If I could have one thing right now, it would have to be their waistcoat! It looks so nice, and I expect it is very good quality just like this top! Although for some the prices may seem quite high, for the quality they are worth it! I think for a really nice gift (or even treat yourself!) The products are really worth it!

(This is a * marked product, so I would like to say thank you ever so much to Voodoo Girl and I wish them good luck on the beginning of their amazing journey! The review above is 100% true, and I mean every single word. If I didn’t like a product, I wouldn’t lie, would I?)

Design #2

By January 23, 2013 Designs, Fashion, My Style

FINALDESIGN2Design #2: This design is based on the Monochrome Trend. I wanted to design something which was simple, but also had a slight bit of difference. The design on the left has a pop of neon which I love! The one on the right is so basic, yet it has the dramatic shoulder ‘pom poms’. I love the Oxblood colour as well, and I think it works well with black and white. If I had to choose the fabrics, the neon would be more of a piping material, and the skirt would either be real leather of PU. The clutch on the left would be suede, and again with the neon piping.

I would be very grateful if you did not take my designs for you own use! I draw them my self (100%) and put them through Photoshop. I hope one day that they will be produced an will have my own label on them.

Please tell me what you think by leaving a comment, or tweet me! Please find all my other designs here > DESIGNS.

Are Fashion Weeks Fading?

By January 23, 2013 Fashion

If you have read or are reading the latest Company Magazine, you would have probably read the article by Kerry Porter about Fashion Weeks and how they’re VIP tickets are getting less and less exclusive, and the fact that we are getting all this free footage of the shows instead of actually living in it all. So, I thought I’d write a post about it!

I actually totally agree, the Fashion Week is losing it’s exclusiveness! We are able to sit in our onesies with a nice hot chocolate watching it now, rather than going out and feeling the bass of the music beat through our bodies. We’re able to even embed the footage into our blogs and get people viewing them through our own sites. Instead of being specially selected or paying for the tickets, we can stay in the luxury of our homes. Surely, us fashionistas want to see the fabrics and colours up close and personal? Surely, we want our own snaps of what we like, and our own real life footage? Don’t we want the special feeling of knowing you’ve been to the real shows? *I hear you say yes* So, why don’t we? (Picture from Pinterest)

The simple answer, is the Internet. As a blogger, it is a big part of my life now, and I couldn’t live without it. Designers and Fashion Week holders want everyone to experience it, but by doing that we’re ruining the fun of getting a surprise. It’s like getting told everything about what you’re getting for your next birthday, until waiting until it actually happens right? We’re able to see it all before the next season starts, instead of the actual people who will be making it into stuff, and people who need to see it. Tom Ford even made his shows exclusive, so not even the press could know it was happening! Wouldn’t that be better? A surprise? Yes, okay, I like doing Trend blog posts, but I could wait!

If I had it my way, I would make it so you always have to apply, and no footage is allowed out of Fashion Week, just pictures and sneak peeks. What do you think? Should Fashion Week be more exclusive? Tell me in a comment, or Tweet me 😉

Blogging Tips & Q&A With Stephanie Dreams…

By January 22, 2013 Beauty, Fashion

Once again I have another fellow blogger answering some questions about blogging and fashion! I hope you enjoy it, and if you want to hear anything from certain people, do let me know! Take it away Stephanie

1.    What inspired you to start your Blog?: My friend started a blog a little while before & just the whole “online diary” really interested me.

2.    Why did you choose fashion?: I didn’t really at the start, it was very much a beauty blog and it still stands with beauty at the moment. I started my outfit post’s a little while after and they’ve just grown and grown. I enjoy reading them on other blogs, and have just felt they’ve improved through the years.

3. What are you top tips on starting a Blog?: Pick a good name that is universal and you will love even when you’re 50, you have to be proud and want to hate your blog. Basic layout’s and an interesting header will get you a good start, and remember to keep your images big!!

4. What are your Blogging Targets for this year?: Just to keep growing Stephanie Dreams, both with my readership and with what I can do with it and the people I work with.

5. Who are your favourite fellow bloggers?: Paige Joanna and Briar Rose are both stunning blogs (and friends) that I met and found in 2012. I love finding new blogs all the time & I think it’s important to read and comment on a lot. Both to get inspiration and also become a team member of the blogging world.

6. What’s was your favourite trend from 2012?: I love the mini bags and also the monochrome trend.

7. Where’s your favourite place to grab a bargain and why?: Primark is always good, but generally I’m not good at bagging a bargain. I think super markets are doing well for their fashion though, George at Asda is my favourite.

8. What’s your favourite piece of clothing, accessory etc that you have ever bought?: I think my “Whole lotta Rosie” headbands from Crown & Glory are. I adore them and think they look amazing.

9. Who is your favourite designer and why?: This is so hard. I’m not “High Fashion” in any way, and I find it hard to relate designers to real life style and clothing. I adore Matthew Willimason for his prints and gorgeous colours though, and I love the See by Chloe range also.

10. What’s your personal style and what do you do to work it?: I really HATE this question, I honestly don’t know what style I have. To describe it is the worst! I like being fun and laid back, I will be wearing tights 90% of the time and love to be creative with accessories.

So you can get a feel for Stephanie’s blog, here are some screenshots…

Picture 1Picture 2Stephanie has over 1,000 Blog Followers, 2,441 Twitter Followers and over 100 Facebook Fans, that means she has over 3,000 Followers combined! I am sure she is going to get much bigger!

Thanks so much Steph! Please feel free to leave a comment on which bloggers you would like to see here! Also, if you leave a question, I will add them to the questions list! Or Tweet me!

My Style: Castres & Collars

By January 22, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle, My Style

photo 1photo 2Today we went to Castres to the Hairdressers. It is very cold, but I braved it for you guys, and had my pictures without a coat! We also had a nice Subway, which I haven’t had since moving, a nice Almond Croissant, and then afterwards we went to a tea cafe. As you can see I just had a trim, and then platted bits on the sides of my hair. I really love the collar trend, and I decided to wear it today, because I saw Becky from Lifestyle Flash wearing it, and I thought, ‘I must find that shirt!’.

photo 3 photo 4photo 2*Cheesy Grin!*

photo 5photo 1What I Wore: M&S School Shirt, New Look Trousers, H&M Belt, Primark Boots & A Necklace from a Car Boot Sale! (It really goes with everything, and only cost me £2!)

photo 1photo 2 photo 3Yummy! Almond Croissants & The Tea Cafe 😀 The sign says…. no freaky people! Haha. Just kidding, it says that there is a knitting club on Wednesdays for €10 😀

What did you wear today? Did you rock the collar trend? If you did leave me a comment, and if you didn’t feel free to leave a message anyway!

Food Glorious Food: Hash-Brown Burgers

By January 21, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle

Okay, since I had good feedback from my last Food Glorious Food post, I thought I’d do another! This time it is inspired by a very good American restaurant in Europe, The Buffalo Grill! We went there a while ago in Toulouse, and we enjoyed it very much, and we have carried back, the nice Hash-brown Burger recipe, home!

photo 51. Get some burger buns and add a couple of your favourite fillings. I like Cheese and Tomato and sometimes lettuce, but this time I went simple.

photo 22. Then add a nice Hash-Brown, Meat (If your vegetarian, skip this!) and if you really want, add another Hash-Brown… or half!

photo 3photo 13: Add the top, and any other fillings, like Onions!

photo 4You can add your favourite sauce too! Mine is Heinz BBQ, because it isn’t too sweet, but adds a bit of extra ‘umph’ to your food!

Seriously, you must try this! The extra crunch and burst of flavour with the Hash-Brown and also makes it just that tad bit more filling! Tell me your favourite Burger recipes, and tips by leaving a comment or Tweet me!

Ye’ Olden Times: My First Clothes Show Live

By January 21, 2013 Fashion, My Style

Okay, so my sister emailed me with some pictures, and said I should do a post on it, which is understandable, but I mean, they’re not great pictures (i.e red eye etc) so, don’t expect much, but it is quite cool where they were taken. I experienced my first Clothes Show Live in 2010 (I was 10) and at that time, I knew I liked Fashion, but I wasn’t like blogging or I wasn’t dressing up trendy, or having my own style, I was just a young girl (I say that 2 years later!), who just threw pink tops on, with a nice skirt etc. But, now I have changed, i.e Look at the banner & past pictures and you will tell the difference from below…

DSCF1340

Back in 2010 Clothes Show Live was at Earles Court in London, so we travelled all the way down and I was really excited! *Smiling for the camera* We had the AAA Passes, which to be honest weren’t worth it. They said you could sit nearer the catwalk and get more stuff and discounts, but we were told to move seats, and we had to wait for ages in the queue even with them, and also at the end they gave out the AAA Goody bags for free anyway!

DSCF1347Don’t you just love it? One of my idols, Vivienne Westwood, such a cool picture! If you’re wondering why I have 2 bags, one is mine (Pink Hello Kitty one) and the other is my mum’s back cushion bag (I am sure I will explain that at a later date)…

DSCF1346

This picture just makes me laugh! Haha. I think I was trying on some from one of the stalls, but I wish I had bought them, they’re actually quite cute! (Sorry to the lady behind me, I don’t know who you are, but um, thanks for looking at me weirdly!)

DSCF1352So, here I am posing, and I don’t think this is a bad picture, now looking at it again. If you want to know what I was wearing here it is: Debenhams Cardigan (Goes with everything, love it!), Homemade Bracelets, Love Letter Necklace (I bought it there), Accessorize Shoes, Matalan Jeggings & A Dress (I think it’s either from Debenhams or BHS…?)

My thoughts on the whole thing were overall not very good. The fact that they gave people what we payed extra for, for free, annoyed me. The extremely long queues, annoyed me. I don’t know what it’s like 2 years on, but I don’t think I’ll be going again, well at least I hopefully won’t be paying next time 😉 Haha. Also, the show wasn’t even that great. I did get to see The Wanted live, when they first became big, and I did experience my first show, but I wasn’t that amazed. The designs weren’t like a designer show (which I guess you don’t look out for at this event), and I felt like it was more like a TV Show. I thought perhaps although it was a public event, it could’ve been a bit more professional.

Have you ever been to the Clothes Show Live? Did you go to this one? Leave a comment down below! 😀

What To Have In Your Bag At Work…

By January 20, 2013 Beauty

This is one of those posts, which many of you will think, ‘Oh, I know what to take’, or think, she’s 12, how does she know? Well, I know because I live around older people, and I read things, and I just have common sense right? How else do you think I do my blog??! (Well, you could say I was just generally clever and a genius, but that would not be true!) workessentialsRevlon ColourBurst Lipstick £5.00 (Boots), Models Own Compact Mirror £6.50 (Boots), Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer £3.69 (Boots), Collection 2000 Fix Me Up £5.99 (Superdrug), Nivea Hand Nourishing Cream £1.49 (Superdrug) & Barry M Concealer Brush £2.99 (Superdrug).

1: These lipsticks are meant to have the most gorgeous finish and are supposed to last a very long time, so even if you have a favourite, get a long lasting one! And take it with you to touch up! 2: Having a sleek and small mirror in your make-up bag is key, because even if the bathroom where you work has one, sometimes you just need to look that little bit closer! 3: Again, this concealer is supposed to be amazing! Loads of people have been raving about it, and perhaps you should try it out! 4: Fixing Sprays are key, because they can be used through out the day, so if you’re touching up your make-up, it will stay put, and if you feel your make-up moving, stop it in it’s tracks! 5: Always bring a small moisturiser with you, sometimes you hands will need a little bit of love! Especially in these harsh conditions, make sure you always have something like this with you! 6: For hygiene and easy usage, bring a small brush. You don’t want your make-up everywhere, and you don’t want dirty fingers on your face, so bring a nice and compact concealer/blending brush along, if you know you’re going to need to touch up!

Please tell me if you need any outfit inspiration for work, just leave a comment or tweet me.

By January 20, 2013 Fashion

Retrousse Clothing are a new clothing brand specialising in t-shirts. They started last year (2012) and are London based.

We like to have fun. We like to play. We live off excitement and we crave the good times. We are Retrousse. A charismatic, energetic and contemporary brand from London est. 2012, celebrating ambition, style and creativity in urban life.

I love the ambition of new brands, because they’re like me, I want to be a fashion designer. I need to be one, and that’s exactly what Retrousse and other brands are like, ambitious and determined. Retrousse are also great with customers, as they wrap every t-shirt with care and individuality. They’re also green and enviromentally friendly…

Our first line of tees are made from 70% bamboo viscose and 30% organic cotton. This lightweight fibre combination is softer, more comfortable, more durable, more breathable and more absorbent, drying just as quickly as regular cotton. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world requiring no assistance and when mixed with organic cotton, its natural anti-bacterial qualities are increased.

Although the T-Shirts are a Men’s cut, these are actually unisex! They look great as a baggy tee on a girl/woman, so try it out, whoever you are! My favourite is probably the Urban T-Shirt!
