Out & About: Brocante & A Beautiful Blue Car

By February 4, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle, My Style

Unfortunately, due to cold weather, I did not get to do my Outfit Post in which I was planning to do, but! I did get to take some awesome snaps of the ‘Brocante’ yesterday in Toulouse, and I am sure you’re going to love this!

My favourite stall was… well all of them were pretty awesome! I will be doing a post on what I bought very soon, but I thought I would do it in parts, as there are a lot of pictures!

WHAT I WORE:Underneath – White M&S School Shirt, Zara Monochrome Dress, Blue Cardigan. On Top – Second Hand Shop Coat, White Trousers & Charity Shop Boots.

Valentine’s Outfit & Gift Guide….

By February 1, 2013 Beauty, DIY & Lifestyle, Fashion

The other day I posted my Valentine’s Decoration Inspiration post (ha, that rhymes!!), and I said I would do an outfit post, so here it is! I have also thrown 2 gift guides, 1 for her, and 1 for him…

valentineBlack & White Spot Print Shirt £25.00, Pink Heart Print Skater Skirt £18.00, Monochrome And Fluro Bow Hair Clips Pack £8.00, Cream Stud Toe Buckle Ankle Boots £25.00 & Gold Tone Diamante Collar Tips £8.00 (All from River Island).

I am seriously, officially, in love with this outfit. I am sorry, but don’t you just think it’s gorgeous? *Yeah*. I think the skirt is super duper cute! It goes well with the monochrome spotty blouse, because the two prints definitely compliment each other! (It’s a Print Romance!) Add a pop of colour with these gorgeous hair clips, either have one in the side or create a French Plait and clip them in a line down the back. These boots are also gorgeous and will add a more casual feel to the look. I think also adding collar clips just finishes off the outfit, and I am sure your date is going to fall in love with you, and you’ll live happily ever after…. *aww*…. Sorry, about all the cheeseyness 😀

valentinesValentines Gold Love in Red £20.00 (Francesca Pina), Urban Decay Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette £36.00 (Debenhams), Love Birds iPhone Case £32.00 (iAlbert), Bee Doorknocker Earrings £15.00 (ASOS), Ted Baker Flocon Summer Bloom Shopper £35.00 (ASOS) & Set of 3 Lavender Bags £10.00 (Cath Kidston).

I don’t want to blab on, but I will say that if you want me to do a Review/Styling of the Ted Baker Shopper, I have a pink version, so please leave a comment stating that you do want me to do a post!

valentines2Fuel For Life From £32.50 (The Perfume Shop), Brown Lace Up Brogue Worker Boots £40.00 (River Island), How To Speak Wookie Book £12.50 (ASOS) & Diesel Leather Wallet And iPhone 4 Giftset £85.00 (ASOS).

If you’re wondering why I put lots of Diesel stuff, and a random Star Wars book is because I love most of the Men’s Diesel stuff (for Men, I don’t personally use any of it!), and I thought the book was really cute and quirky, I don’t actually like Star Wars.

To be quite honest, I don’t think I really know one person who actually believes truly in Valentine’s day. Yes, they may get each other a card, and perhaps go out for the evening, but really, it’s just to fit in with the event. Personally, I think that Valentine’s Day is just a commercialised day in which the sales in chocolates, cards, underwear (haha), and flowers go up. It’s also the day in which children at school (excluding myself) believe that they have found their true love forever and ever. Then the next day your dumped. LOL, it’s the reality of school!

Tell me what you think about Valentine’s Day, and also what you’ll be doing to ‘celebrate the day’, by leaving me a comment…

My Style: Dreaming of a Bigger Hairspray Bottle

WHAT I WORE:River Island Sleeveless Top, Primark ‘Cheryl Cole Style’ Dress, New Look Aztec Top (Underneath), White Trousers (Not sure where from), Claire’s Sunglasses & €1 Charity Shop Sanstone Walking Boots.

If you’re wondering where I got my Jumbo Hairspray (Fake) Bottle from, well, I made it! My mum had these big cardboard things which were for holding some clothes moth protectors, and I thought I would make something of it! I use paper mache, then sprayed it gold, and then just added everything else! I would love it if L’Oreal were to release one of these, it would solve all our ‘not enough spray’ worries! Also, do you like my GIF? I thought it would add the something extra to my OOTDs… 😀

What were you wearing today? Do you wear Walking Boots as a fashion statement? What’s your best bargain?

DIY: Honey & Sugar Lip Scrub

By January 13, 2013 Beauty, DIY & Lifestyle

The other day (when my sister was staying) she told me that you can make really good Lip Scrubs by using Honey & Sugar, so I looked it up and investigated, so, I tried it out, and here’s how you can do it!

photo 1Okay, so the ingredients you need are: Honey, Olive Oil (Optional), Vaseline/Lip Balm (Selection Shown), Natural Crushed Sugar & A Small Container.

photo 1I used my Rosy Lips Vaseline, so there would be a slight tint, and also just so (perhaps) it looked a little better…photo 5

This is from the local area of where we live, and it is handmade! This is the Sunflower honey and it is really sweet, and doesn’t have that bitter taste some honeys have.

photo 3

The reason why the Olive Oil is optional is because it is either a substitute for those who are maybe allergic, or don’t have honey. Plus, it also has nice goodness in it for that added bonus!photo 2

The container I used was an old Yoghurt jar, which is quite small, and you could fill it if you wanted. You could also use old lip balm containers, or plastic containers left around.photo 2

For my sugar I just used natural brown sugar, and made sure it was crushed. The better the lumps and grittyness the better the scrub will be.

photo 3 photo 4 1. Add a teaspoon of Vaseline/Lip Balm, you can add as much or as little as you like, but I found this was a good amount.

photo 52: Then add about 2 or 3 teaspoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, this will make your lips even softer.

photo 13: Next add 1 teaspoon of honey. You can use squirty honey, if you like, but set honey can make it thicker.

photo 24: Finally you want to add about 2 teaspoons of sugar. The more gritty it is the better the scrub. If you put too much it will make it too gloopy and thick.

photo 3This is what it looks like before you put it in the fridge.. (kinda gross, right?)

photo 4

5: Put it in the fridge for about 10 to 15 minutes to make it set a bit more.photo 5This is not one for the faint harted! The finished product…

photo 3

This is before I put the scrub on. My lips look dry and they have peeling skin.photo 2

With the scrub on. It sort of has a tint from the Vaseline, and it also has a slight shimmer. It tastes quite good, but if you hate Olive Oil, don’t add it!photo 1

After I used it. My lips look softer and feel softer. I found that the dried skin came off easy, and they feel a lot lighter. Obviously, using this once wont work, so use it every day for at least a week.

DIY: Make-Up & Jewellery Case

By January 11, 2013 Beauty, DIY & Lifestyle

Okay first of all, I have to say that I did not eat all the Forrero Rochers by myself, there were 6 other people eating them. Secondly, I would like to say that this is not a good post for those on a diet, as it involves eating chocolate. Thirdly, I would like to start the post… So, yes, it involves eating a whole box of chocolates, preferably Forrero Rochers, and a box which has a chocolate ‘holder’. The other things you need is a label, some Make-Up and some Jewellery!

photo 1This box is perfect because it is great for putting on display, it’s quite small, and it’s gold, so it’s extra pretty!

photo 3 photo 2So, as you can see I filled all the little spaces with small items like earrings (my mum’s), rings, and a few tiny clips and pins. I then filled the middle with my MUA Artiste Collection which fits perfectly in the center space.

photo 4See, they fit perfectly! This gorgeous ring is the perfect example!

photo 1Plus! There’s a secret compartment! Okay, wait, how romantic would this be, if you’re boyfriend put an engagement ring in there and note, and then you saw that. That would be amazing… (There you go boys… 🙂 )

photo 5

photo 2 photo 3

For the label, I cut out something from my Company Magazine, and PVA-ed it on.

photo 4Here’s just a guide on where you should put things! Obviously you don’t have to do it like this!

Please tell me if you have any other uses for chocolate boxes! I would love to know! Just leave a comment, or tweet me at @TollyDollyPosh

Food Glorious Food

By January 11, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle

So, as this year I have a full year of blogging instead of starting in April, I guess I should probably add some more stuff, so I guess, doing some food blogs would be cool, right? So, as this is the first (of hopefully many) I have started with a basic one. Boiled Egg & Soldiers! This is probably one of the most amazingly simple, and comforting foods there is. Isn’t it so cute though? Dipping slices of bread into the gooey yellow amazing-ness with a pinch of salt and a pepper, with a glass of freshly pressed orange juice.

photo 3 photo 2 photo 1Unfortunately this time I didn’t have gooey middle 🙁 But, other than that it was purely delicious. I love having the pinch of salt & pepper on top, because it adds that extra boost of flavour. Plus having the Orange juice with the vitamins, then it’s a perfectly healthy meal, but I went for white bread so you could disagree…

photo 4I also had it in my really old egg cup, which I did on the Isle of Wight where I lived for 7 years. I think it’s….. unique. Random splatters of purple here, random dots of green there, it’s quite frankly… brilliant! Better than Kate Middleton’s portrait! She looks terrible!

I hope you enjoy the simple, yet sweet little post, and that you are looking forward to many more Food Glorious Food posts!

Confidence & Courage

By January 6, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle, Fashion

Recently, I was chatting with a twitter tweep, and we got to the discussion of confidence in what you wear. They said that they had died their hair bright blue, and then changed it back to brown again, because they stuck out like a sore thumb. I could understand where they were coming from, with the whole ‘Look at me, I’m different’ thing. I sometimes think to myself, ‘but, people are going to look at me’. When I visit the local supermarket, I am certain I get strange looks. I think it’s probably because I always wear my hat inside, well, it is cold! It does give me that feeling of insecurity, but then my dad does the cheesy thing of saying ‘They do it because you’re pretty’, well, okay, thanks dad, but I don’t want to sound vain here. Anyway, this post is all about building confidence. I feel since starting my blog, I have definitely felt more confident in what I wear, as it’s out in the open. So, I have created a guide, to building your confidence and your building up your courage, in whichever way possible…

confidence1Starting a blog can be quite hard, because if you get good amounts of views, you may have to start doing it every day. BUT! I have a solution! If you start a online diary (a public diary), it can be about anything, so you start to express your opinions which can help you. A blog is different because you’re doing it to a specific subject, and you kind of have to commit to it. With this, because it’s about anything and everything, there’s not much commitment at all! Because, people aren’t relying on you. Here are some examples…

Picture 3The Public Diary

I really like this one. It has things that are really quite unusual, like a day out of a bus window etc, so if you want inspiration, there’s a gooden!

Picture 2Terry’s Diary

This is what I mean by anything and everything. It literally is. Random pictures, random everything! It is very basic, and I guess anyone could do this!

confidence2I’ve never personally been to a Meet & Greet but I know that many YouTubers hold them. Now, you may be thinking why would that help me, but it would for these reasons… 1. You will meet lots of different people, and personalities, which will show you that you can be whoever you like. 2. You may get some inspiration from it, and you might end up being even better than the YouTuber you met! 3. You will learn a lot because you’ll begin to talk to people, and you might meet people who wear things totally random, and you might catch on, and that could boost you!

confidence3Even if you don’t get into Fashion Week, just get to the place around it! Have a nice day out, and take some pictures of people. It can tell you that if you have a love for fashion, then you should be able to wear what ever you want to wear! I’ve been to Clothes Show Live, and even there loads of people wore mad things, I hadn’t started blogging yet, but it gave me some inspiration.

confidence4GO OUT! Wear what you feel like you should be wearing! Go to big cities like London, Paris, Birmingham, New York, you’re sure to get spotted, for the right reasons! I remember when I first went out wearing these sunglasses that I thought were OTT and ridiculous, I came back and I people had said that they liked them! Woop!

Now, I know this wasn’t all fashion related, but sometimes we just need that inspiration don’t we? Just sometimes? Oh! And before you finish reading!! The Give-Away starts tomorrow! Woop! It’s to say thank you for the recent amazing views, and Twitter boom. Thank you so much! Here’s what you could win…

2013 Is Going To Be A Good Year: FACT.

By November 30, 2012 DIY & Lifestyle, Fashion

The reason I put ‘FACT’ is simple. We have finished another year! A great one also. With the Diamond Jubilee, London 2012, and the end of the recession (some say), 2013 has got a lot to live up to, but I believe it will. Hopefully things will turn out for the best! The film world say so (with the new Hunger Games coming out), the Fashion world say so (with a new year of amazing trends), and so do us food lovers (Chicken Wings he we come! says Vogue Japan….?) Yes, it looks like it will turn out to be a good one, so here is a list of things you can do to make that FACT a reality….

Pictures from: 1: The Girl Who Couldn't Be A Fashionista, 2: The Hunger Games, 3: Highsnobette, 4: Rookie

Pictures from: 5: Metro & 7: Lenka

And, if 2012 is the end of the world, then cram all of this into the space of time we have left! Go on, DO IT! 🙂
