Rimmel London Wake Me SPF 15 Foundation Review

By January 13, 2013 Beauty

If you’ve been reading for a long time, you will know that sometimes I review things from my mum’s stuff as I find some of her stuff a lot of you will relate to. One of these things is Foundation. Now, my mum has naturally oily skin, and finds it hard finding a Foundation to stop her looking shiny. So recently she did a bit of a bulk order of bits and bobs, and found a Foundation. This one is the Rimmel London Wake Me Up SPF 15 Foundation in Ivory.

photo 1 photo 2 photo 3 photo 4 photo 2This Foundation is one of those things which is perfect for some people and the worst product to use for others. For people with oily skin is great, because it can make your skin look naturally matte, and not powdery. My mum finds it hard to pick out ones which don’t turn out looking ridiculously pale, but this one looks great. It says on the back… ”Our first foundation that visibly reawakens and illuminates skin with a radiant glow and a flawless natural-looking finish. Instant anti-fatique effect with peptides and a Vitamin Moisturising Complex.” The packaging is also nice, it is small and sleek, and is a nice colour. I generally have been in love with Rimmel recently.

photo 5 photo 1As you can see (hopefully), there is a really nice shimmer too the Foundation. It also spreads out really well, and is really blendable. It also smells quite nice. It has a similar smell to the Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter, which is good because you don’t want a horrible smell on your face, which can sometimes put you off a really good looking Foundation. It is also really light, you don’t even feel like you’re wearing it after a while.

BLEND-ABILITY: 8/10 – Blends well, and spreads out well.

COLOUR & TEXTURE: 8/10 – Nice colour, very natural and feels light and smooth. Plus, it has a nice shimmer to it.

SCENT: 7/10 – A nice scent, similar to some S&G products.

OVERALL: 8/10 – Very good product, especially for oily skin.

MUA Make-Up Review: Eye Make-Up & Lips

By August 24, 2012 Beauty

As you hopefully know, I have been out shopping to get a few products, a few meaning 2! In this review I will be including those 2 products, and also a few others which I already had. So, if you’re thinking of going on a purse friendly Make-Up Haul, keep reading!

MUA Mascara – £1.00 (Shade 4)

I love this mascara! I have had it for a long time now, and it is perfect! I like a natural, but long lash look, and that is exactly what it does. It may be brown, but you wouldn’t tell. The best thing about it, is that it does NOT clump, at all! It seriously doesn’t! I have tried Miss Sporty Studio Lash Mascara, and that was good, but it clumped, and was 5 times the price. For £1.00, you actually cannot go wrong. Even if you do think you really can’t spend again, just do it. It is well worth it, and there are many different colours.

Overall – 10/10 – Nothing wrong with it, it is perfect.

MUA Intense Colour Mascara – £1.00 (Royal Blue)

I have been wanting an eye liner pencil for ages, and I am glad I chose this one. I was going to get black, and play it safe, but I am glad I didn’t. The blue is very strong, but you can blend it really easily so it isn’t so dramatic. It just adds that little bit extra colour, and is great for when you don’t want to wear too much eye shadow. It goes on really well, and is very smooth. It doesn’t drag on the eye, and it comes with a sharpener in the lid, so no need to go out and buy one. This is a bargain!

Overall – 9/10 – It is very good, but maybe a little too strong a colour.

MUA Blusher – £1.00 (Shade 5)

You might think this looks really dark, but I think it is just the picture. I wanted this shade because I have tried Benefit’s Havana, and this gives the same sort of look. It has a pearly colour to it, and it very rosy, but not pink. I think it gives a natural look, but is strong enough to give a boost of colour and shine. It is best blended/applied with fingertips otherwise it will look to strong, and with a brush, it just doesn’t have the same pearly look.

Overall – 8/10 – It is nice, but you need to be careful about the amount you apply.

MUA Lipgloss Tube – £1.00 (Shade 2)

Again, this picture makes it look a lot darker than it is. It is really, a more peachy colour. I usually use it over the top of a Dior lipstick (Rouge Dior, 296 Beige Box Office), because it gives it a really nice shine, it works as a highlighter, and gives it a more metallicy, shiny look. You need to apply this gently, and with a small fingertip/brush, as it is quite strong. It is worth the price, but I wouldn’t necessarily, just buy it (as I got it for a gift).

Overall – 8/10 – Nice, cheap, and good for highlighting.

MUA Review –

Prices – 10/10 – The prices are amazing, and I think their most expensive product is £5.

Quality – 8.5/10 – Very good for the price, but isn’t as good as big brands like MAC.

Overall – 10/10 – Amazing for small budgets, and just for every day make-up, and perfect for cheap gifts!
