Max Factor Nailfinity Blue Energy Review

By August 6, 2012 Beauty

This Nailfinity Polish by Max Factor is one of my favourite polishes. It has such a nice metallic shine, and it goes on amazingly. I am not sure whether they sell this exact colour any more, but I know they sell the same but in Reds and Pinks. It cost about £5.99, which is quite a good price. Unfortunately, the metallic shine, means that if you go wrong, or you get a bit of mess around the nail, then it is quite easy to see, especially if you smudge the nail. You don’t really need a top coat for shine, because it is very shiny in itself, but you may need a top coat to protect it from chipping. It doesn’t dry very quickly, as it is one of those polishes which become sticky after 2 minutes of drying, so you have to be very careful. In a way it can create small swirls on your nails, if you look close enough, but also if you put too much on, those swirls can look like drips. Overall, it is a very nice polish, but you need to be careful when applying, and also when drying.

Overall: 8.5/10 – Very nice, but you can see every detail or mistake.

Colour: 9/10 – I love the colour, but the metallic is quite shiny, so you have to be careful.

Ease of Application: 7.5/10 – It goes on smoothly, but again, you have to be careful on how much you put on, otherwise it will be a mess, or it will be too light.

Smudging/Chipping: 7/10 – It smudges easily, even when it is pretty much completely dry.

DIY: Hair Chalking Tutorial

By August 5, 2012 DIY & Lifestyle

I have been dying to do this for ages, and I tried with my sister last Christmas, but we got the wrong Chalks 🙁 Finally, I have the right ones, and here is a simple tutorial on how to do it yourself! Before you take a look though, here are a few Tips….

1. If you have blonde hair, do not use the water technique.

2. Make sure when you have the chalk in, that you don’t wear best clothes, because it can come off.

3. When applying the chalk, make sure you have plenty of towels around you!

4. If you are not sure whether or not your hair will just stain. Try it out on a tiny bit of hair, and wash it out afterwards.

5: DO NOT USE Oil Pastels! Use Soft Pastels which you can get from most Craft & Art shops.

Tangle Teezer Review: Juicy Fruits

By July 31, 2012 Fashion

Recently I got a Tangle Teezer. I wanted to just try it out, and see what difference it makes. I looked up ‘Tangle Teezer Review’ and there didn’t seem to be many, so I have decided to do one.

Most people might think that this is quite a childish item to purchase, but actually it’s not. They do have kids ones, but this one is for anyone. There are 6 different colours in the Juicy Fruits collection, and they are all very bright. The one I have is bright Purple, and very bright Orange. It is easy to hold, but even easier to drop, as there is a matte, and shiny surface to it. The Orange brush part, is very good. The bristles are very flexible meaning they don’t catch on the hair. It works extremely well with wet hair, so you can brush your hair back, and leave it to naturally dry. With dry hair it is quite good, but it does tug like any brush would. It is good for doing pony tails, as it doesn’t make any bumps. I actually got mine for free from my salon, so if I did have to pay, I wouldn’t of, because it doesn’t get rid of big knots and tangles, which is what I get. For general use though, it is good. I wouldn’t recommend this to people with greasy or oily hair, because it makes that really clear. For people with thin, silky hair it is good for making your hair smoother, and straighter. Now the ratings…

Ease of Use: 6.5/10 – Easy to drop, and does tug.

Size & Travel Use: 7/10 – Quite small, but not small enough for your handbag!

Look & Style: 8/10 – Funky & New.

Overall: 7.5/10 – Quite pricey, but worth a try.
