My Style: Fangirling BANKSY in Neon*

By June 21, 2014 My Style

It’s another My Style post! No wonder as they are probably my favourite to post as I get to edit the pictures nicely and all that jazz! Plus, you guys seem to like them…. so I ain’t complaining! 😀 Pssst, want to go to a musical party with the people at Company magazine on June 25th?! Click here to find out how you could grab some tickets!

A lot of time recently, I go to my wardrobe and say ‘What would Susie wear?’… Susie being fellow blogger, Susie Lau/Bubble, and I definitely feel like this is her kind of outfit… toned down a bit! I saw these (there are two… one white, one green) petticoats in Oxfam… just poking out like, ‘Take me home… take me home!’, and that’s exactly what I did. For me £7.99 is quite a lot for a charity shop, but I have no regrets. I love the way they look fun, but the length gives them that ‘chic’ edge to them, and anything tulle makes me happy. My bargain H&M skirt I got in October is perfect for how sheer it is too… aww I just love this outfit! Oh wait, hang-on, did I mention I did these pictures in front of a Banksy?! Yeah, just casual… 😀

It hits me just at the right place and is so comfortable! I loveeee it! Anyway, enough about that, lets talk Banksy! You probably know where this is already, but isn’t it cool?! It’s actually really big, and I love the fact it’s in an open space so you always notice it. I really would love to know how much the house it is on is worth… or how many times people have posed in the phone box! Me and Papa Posh were taking these pictures and we are pretty sure we made it a trend… lots of people came over and did the same thing… well except without the outfit detail shots in the mix!

It doesn’t feel too big just to have sunglasses and a lip balm in (yup…), so it’s honestly the best bag ever. I’ve already got it grubby… it’s definitely going to be my essential this summer! On top of that, how cute does it look!

Teen Blogging in Blogosphere Magazine Issue 4

By June 18, 2014 DIY & Lifestyle, My Style

Howdy! I’m back again, with a pretty exciting post! You may or may not know that I recently wrote an article on teen blogging for the blogging magazine (that’s a whole lot of blogging), Blogosphere Magazine in their latest Issue #4! I thought I would give you the low down because if I do say so myself, it’s a pretty cool issue 🙂 Just so you know, the Company Blog Awards results are in and unfortunately there was nothing for me! 3rd time lucky for 2015? I hope so! Thanks so much if you voted/nominated though, it means a lot!

blogosphere magazine issue 4 louis cole teen blogging blogosphere magazine issue 4 louis cole teen bloggingBLOGOSPHERE ISSUE 4* – E-VERSION £3 – PRINTED VERSION £4 // DINOSAUR NOTEBOOK*

Blogosphere is a magazine written for bloggers and by bloggers. From photography to *cough* teen blogging, each issue covers everything you might want to know whether you are a reader or a writer. Don’t forget every issue has an awesome cover star and interview, Issue 4 is with Louis Cole, with past issues being covered by Essie Button and Fleur De Force‘s faces, so you could say it’s a pretty high profile publication. They allow bloggers to submit pitches, and mine was one of the few to be accepted! Woop!

Cover Interview (p23) – I never used to really ‘get’ Louis Cole, but after reading this interview and watching a few more of his vlogs, I finally do. He’s so down to earth and generally lovely and doesn’t come across as ‘fake’ as some other vloggers. If you want to know more about how he lives his adventure, I would definitely recommend reading this!

Photography (p63) – I don’t follow enough photography bloggers seeing as I love snapping away, and it is so nicely put together! A short piece, but is lovely to flick through!

blogosphere magazine issue 4 louis cole teen bloggingRise of the Teen Blogger (p55) – Da-dah! The article which was written by yours truly! Pretty snazzy, huh? I decided people need to know the ins and outs of what us young bloggers get up to, and I thought well, why not share it in a magazine? It’s a 3 page article (cray cray), where I discuss what I’ve achieved so far, the pros and the cons, as well as 4 of my favourite fellow teen bloggers. It’s accompanied by some of Blogosphere’s very own illustrations also! Want a bit of a cheeky snippet?

”Blogging, like anything, doesn’t really bring much for a while, unless you know somebody who can get your name under somebody’s nose. It wasn’t until I was about seven months in that I decided to pluck up the courage to send an email to a brand. I got a reply, and, within the following two weeks, an outfit post on my father’s iPhone was published.’

It was really fun to write and finally see it all on high quality paper, with my picture on the contents page. Essie Button (previous cover star like I mentioned) said in one of her vlogs that she was reading the issue… I squealed inside of the thought that she may have read my thoughts… wahhh! Make sure you pick up your own copy here and tweet me your thoughts @TollyDollyPosh 😀

My Style: Getting Ready for The New Look Prom*

By June 7, 2014 My Style

Hello! Yes, I am still very much alive. I’ve been super busy this week and am having to cram taking blog pictures into one (extremely beautiful, hot and sunny) day before I’m back off home to the UK again! I got asked a while back by New Look if I wanted to style some pieces from their new New Look Prom range as part of their new campaign, so obviously… I said yes! By the way… I did an article on teen blogging for Issue 4 of Blogosphere Magazine if you want to take a look… 😉

Beauty // What I Wore: Telescopic Mascara (L’Oreal), Silver Eyeliner (Rimmel Scandal-Eyes), Lipgloss in Rosy Dawn (Burt’s Bees)*, Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom (Burt’s Bees)*, Perfume (Britney Spears), Lemon Cuticle Butter (Burt’s Bees)*, Snow Me White Nail Polish (Sinful Colours) & A Roll In The Hague Nail Polish (OPI)

I don’t wear a lot of make-up… I skip any sort of foundation or BB cream, I just go with a tiny bit of mascara and something on my lips… I received some lovely bits from Burt’s Bees, and have been testing out their new lip colour range. The tinted lip balm is like melted butter on your lips… it’s so silky and soft! The lip gloss is pretty darn good too! The packaging is lovely and it isn’t sticky! A win win really 🙂 The colour of both products are so nude, but give off a really girly and simple look! Love, love, love!

For my nails I went with a white Sinful Colours polish and it only cost me £1.99! It stays for ages and doesn’t chip that much like other polishes. The colour is very opaque and for the price, I definitely recommend it! I went for orange on my toes and I think it looks very summery!

Fashion // What I Wore: Printed Dress (Primark), Pastel Petticoat Tutu (M&S), Embellished Mesh Shell Top (Jumble Sale), Clear Orange Clutch £9.99 (New Look)* &  White Strap Peeptoe Heels £19.99 (New Look)*

When I received my gorgeous accessories from New Look I felt like Olivia Purvis (she’s gorgeous). I have never owned such a grown-up pair of heels and these are gorgeous! They’re actually surprisingly comfortable (…until I attempt wearing them for a long period of time…), and look so sophisticated. Let’s not get started on the clutch… it’s soooo funk-ay! I love how it’s clear yet it still has the section to hide things away… super practical if you ask me! I knew straight away what I had to pair them with and of course my classic Primark dress made an appearance!

Too make the dress a little bit more ‘prom like’, I added on top my bargain mesh shell top and my M&S pastel tutu for va-va-voom underneath the skirt of the dress. The colours all match really nicely and makes the outfit more laid-back and fun for such an occasion. I was also sent a lovely embellished belt which is sooo pretty, it just didn’t fit in with this outfit perfectly. You can have a look at here if you like!

What do you think when you think of a Prom outfit? I just think my style! I love colour and embellishments just make it even more fun. This outfit is also very practical as you can move and swish all you like. Get on that dance floor baby! Ooh, we must mention my hair! I decided to curl it, but last night I plaited it and it just made it a ton easier to do! I love messy beachy waves, it suits me the best! I haven’t curled my hair in ages… it takes forever and I’m never usually happy with it, but this result was quite satisfactory! Hooray! Also… do you like the way I have edited these pictures? I found a tutorial about using gradients with curves and I like it! Oui or non?

I am very self-conscious about my feet… without the wonder’s of Photoshop they would look horrid… trust me… but some how this nail polish and shoe combo cheers them up a bit! They look more lady like and not so ‘ew’ from winter, which is a win. The strap on the toes distracts them and my feet actually look presentable… sort of.. just take away the fact they look wonky… yup okay my feet are weird and I can’t hide the fact.

So that’s what I would wear to prom if I were going! What would you wear? Make sure you let me know in the comments! As I mentioned at the beginning, I’m away this coming week so please don’t expect a post for a while… sorry! I will be back, I promise 🙂 See you soon girls and guys!

(I was not paid to write this post. New Look offered me a few pieces as one of their favourite bloggers. Read my full PR disclaimer here!)

New In: House of Holland x New Era Snapback

By May 31, 2014 My Style

Përshëndetje! That’s hello in Albanian… because I’m obviously fluent in the language, and definitely didn’t use Google translate… Anyway, today’s post is about a beauty of a bargain I recently purchased as a birthday present, and if you haven’t already heard me go on about it on Twitter and Instagram, now’s your chance to find out what I’m talking about…

house of holland x new era snapback asoshouse of holland x new era snapback asoshouse of holland x new era snapback asosHOUSE OF HOLLAND X NEW ERA CLOUD PRINT SNAPBACK (ASOS – SOLD OUT) + EXTREMELY WEIRD TONGUE SMILE

Yes… I bought a snapback… or what some people might call, a ‘chav hat’ (sorry snapback lovers). I was browsing ASOS (again…) and when searching ‘sequin’, I found House of Holland… which then led me to this beauty. It was £17.50, so with my birthday code and a voucher from Christmas (I’m the worst voucher spender, ever), it seemed wrong not to pop it immediately in my basket and press that ‘Purchase Now’ button. In total it came to around £5.00 and I’m OBSESSED. I love how it is the same print as the catwalk (see below), and the fact it is part of the same collection (I NOW OWN A PIECE… HOW COOL?!) and and and has the awesome embroidery on the front. It fits well too! Not too tight and not too loose, due to the change-y clip-y thing-y at the back. I’m just so glad I got it!

I think if you style it with the right pieces, and you definitely wear your hair down, it will look great! I’ve been wearing it with quite sporty pieces and nice jackets, but I think in the summer a plain simple dress and wide strapped sandals will make it all tie in. Like I have done in these pictures, I think matching similar prints like tie-dye will also look awesome, and this cheap as chips jumble sale top now has a perfect space in ma’ wardrobe!

What I’d Wear It With: Spotty Dungarees, Elephant Top (worn above), Pink Coat & Nike Free TR Fit Trainers

Blogging Studio Tour + Video

By May 21, 2014 DIY & Lifestyle, My Style

Hello everyone, WOW 2nd post of the day (first one is here)! If you have been following me on Twitter/Instagram, you won’t know that my oldest brother recently moved out, leaving the perfect of rooms for me to have a blog studio! I know it might sound crazy to have a room just for blogging, but I promise I don’t just blog in it haha! This post is going to show you round it and a few bits and pieces that I have bought recently! I also made a YouTube video, just to see it in more detail!

Backdrop Decor & Bed Area: This is one of the main parts of the room I wanted to focus on. Now I have my soft boxes, I want to start doing more YouTube videos as an added extra, so having a good backdrop space was key. There’s a sort of trough against the wall, which is a perfect space for putting bits and pieces, and of course I had to put some of my favourite shoes, magazines and accessories. I think it looks really colourful but definitely still portrays the whole ‘blogging room’ feel.

blogging studio tour youtube video blogging studio tour youtube video NYTTJA FRAMES (IKEA)//OLD FRENCH PRINT (JUMBLE SALE)

Backdrop Wall: When I saw this print, I was instantly drawn in by it. It has such a nice, fresh, colourful and illustrative feel to it, and it was only 5 euros. It’s the perfect size, and compliments my magazine clippings really well. I knew I had to pop these frames up, and they only cost about 6 euros for all three. I would definitely recommend them as they are cheap as chips and aren’t too shiny so they don’t glare in bright lights – one of the reasons I love them so much for my backdrop!

blogging studio tour youtube video COLOURFUL JARS (JUMBLE SALE)//QUOTE WOODBLOCK//TV & SKY BOX

TV Shelf: Seeing as the room is still being used as a spare bedroom, the TV is staying where it was before. I added a cute little decoration which I stole from Mama Posh (she still hasn’t realised… shhh!), and placed my little quote wood block there too. It just makes the shelf a bit less boring and takes the ugliness away from the old clunky Sky box.

Blogging Zone: This is obviously where the magic happens… or where the blogging happens. I switched my brother’s old clunky office chair, for this super duper cheap IKEA chair… less than 10 euros! Don’t forget the blogger essential… lace trim style plant pot! I’ve had this canvas for a while now, it used to be in our living room… slightly out of place, but now it looks perfect! I also love the cute reminder of the Company Blog Awards! It reminds me of why I love blogging so much 🙂 Shame there is no iMac really… one day… one day! The good thing about this area though is that it can be used as a second backdrop! Bonus points!

blogging studio tour youtube video WHITEBOARD (STAPLES)//FRAMSTALA GIFT RIBBON (IKEA)//MALA WHITEBOARD PENS (IKEA)

Blogging Whiteboard: I was going to have to buy a new one of these whiteboards, but my brother was kind enough to leave his for me. Although I use Google Docs to keep my blog schedule updated, this will be super helpful. I can just look up at it and know exactly what I need to do next. I simply taped some of this IKEA ribbon into a grid, and wrote in the spaces! Super easy 🙂 Sneaky peak of my… old schedule haha 😉 I love how the whiteboard pens match the ribbon too… cute details!

blogging studio tour youtube video blogging studio tour youtube video blogging studio tour youtube video MULIG VALET RAIL (IKEA)//NEON ACCESSORIES (CLAIRES)*//JUNK FOOD NECKLACE (CHELSEA DOLL)*//BAG & FABRIC (LIBERTY LONDON)*

Samples Rail: I hope I don’t come across like I am showing off, but I do get sent things as gifts for my blog from time to time (..the things with the * by them..), so having a place to keep track of new pieces is really handy as a blogger. I was originally going to get some hooks, but this little rail is super handy! It has spaces to hang clothes, as well as a space to put small bits and bobs. I love the colour too! They do it in white as well if you’re wondering! The one thing I would say is that it doesn’t come with wheels! It’s super cute though and I can look at all the pretty things on it easily enough 🙂

blogging studio tour youtube video blogging studio tour youtube video SOFT BOXES (EBAY)//DR MARTENS (MASTERSHOE)*//LACK SIDE TABLE (IKEA)

Photography: As I’ve already mentioned, I recently invested in some soft boxes. One of my next blog posts will explain why, but I thought I’d show them here too! They’ve been so good so far, and I’m super happy I got them now! I don’t need more clothes… so these sorted that out! Haha! Along with my lights, I picked up one of the IKEA side tables. I never knew they did matte versions, so I chose the blue one. It’s perfect for taking pictures of products and makes it look so sleek and professional. I also got some IKEA wrapping paper just in-case I want to swap the blue for a cute print instead. I love the way it looks and I am extremely happy with the colour choice… even after my little panic before paying!

So that’s it! That’s my blogging room! As I love blogging, I love using it and having the lights up makes me feel extra cool! Haha 🙂 It also makes my bedroom feel much more relaxing than it used to because now it can be my ‘chill room’. What do you think of it? What would you put in your blog room? Speaking of blogging, the Company Style Blogger Awards voting end on May 23rd! WHAT?! It would be amazing if you could click here and vote for me on Tab 8! Thank you so much!

Music Genre Inspired Lookbook*

By May 15, 2014 Beauty, My Style

A while ago now, I decided that I didn’t want to do make-up or beauty related things on this blog, and I still don’t want too. I don’t enjoy writing about it and to be quite honest, the posts I did write, weren’t exactly proving popular, but (there’s always a but), when a cute perfume brand called Music To My Nose got in touch with me, I was intrigued. A little light bulb went off, and I broke the rule, but I hope you like my idea none the less 😉 Oh and do excuse the slightly delirious faces… who knew the wind could make me look so odd?!

music genre inspired lookbook music to my nose music genre inspired lookbook music to my nose music genre inspired lookbook music to my nosemusic genre inspired lookbook music to my nose music genre inspired lookbook music to my nose music genre inspired lookbook music to my noseWhat I Wore: Indie’ Perfume (Music To My Nose)*, Over-sized Sheer Tile Print Blouse (Jumble Sale), Polka Dot Dungarees £8.00 (ASOS), Cross Necklace (The Little Deer)*, Floppy Hat (Jumble Sale) & Black Jelly Sandals (Supermarket)

‘Indie’ is a slightly floral, fresh, light and calming scent. I would say it’s one of my favourites which I received. It’s a perfect everyday perfume, slightly on the darker side, but it is just heavenly. It’s notes are: Juicy Pineapple, Jasmine, Bergamot & Coconut. I think the Pineapple makes this sent that tiny bit more sweet, and the Jasmine adds the freshness.

The outfit I chose is actually one I have worn quite a few times recently! It’s super comfortable, but it has that slight unique twist to it, with the bold print clash and the vibrant colours. To me ‘Indie’ is casual, but with a vintage vibe, and I hope I have portrayed that well. I love my floppy hat too, it fits SO well (it feels like somebody molded it for my very own head), and it was an absolute bargain.

music genre inspired lookbook music to my nose music genre inspired lookbook music to my nose music genre inspired lookbook music to my nose music genre inspired lookbook music to my nose music genre inspired lookbook music to my noseWhat I Wore: ‘On Tour’ Perfume (Music To My Nose)*, Faux Leather Biker Jacket (ARK Clothing)*, Smiley Face Top (Hero & Cape)*, Printed Midi Skirt (Jumble Sale), Floral Garland (Claire’s)* & Black Jelly Sandals (Supermarket)

‘On Tour’ is full, bright, fruity and a lot stronger than I had expected. The scent’s notes are Fresh Strawberry & Cream. To me, that doesn’t exactly come across. It smells a lot more like sweets than strawberries, but I can just about find the vanilla in there somewhere. I would say this is quite a summery scent, and definitely not an everyday wear. Maybe you could wear it at a festival?

I wanted the whole outfit to be bright but with a little bit of edge (after all, who isn’t edgy when they’re ‘on tour’?). The biker jacket pulls it all together, with the yellow smiley top (LOVE this, I’ve been wearing it a lot with my dungarees), skirt and floral garland making it fun! This skirt was an absolute steal…. *builds up anticipation* It was… 50 CENTS! LIKE, WHAT?! It’s so soft, bright and up ma’ street. I lurrrrve it.

music genre inspired lookbook music to my nose music genre inspired lookbook music to my nose music genre inspired lookbook music to my nose music genre inspired lookbook music to my nose music genre inspired lookbook music to my noseWhat I Wore:Biggest Fan’ Perfume (Music To My Nose)*, Stripey Crochet Cropped Jumper (Jumble Sale), Floaty Buckle Strap Dress (Matalan), Floral Garland (ASOS) & Blue Jelly Sandals (Sun Jellies)*

‘Biggest Fan’ is fruity, but not too overpowering like ‘On Tour’. It’s light, and perfect for summer. A great everyday perfume if you like fruity scents. The notes are Ripe Mango & Juicy Peaches It’s at a real tie with ‘Indie’ for my favourite scent!

For the outfit, I made sure it included a floaty item (not sure why…), and this Matalan dress definitely fits the bill! I do think I should have worn shorts though… way too short for me now! Oops! I love the top underneath though! It’s very cropped, but I think in the summer with a bikini underneath it will be fine! The colours are so vibrant in it, and match my jelly shoes perfectly! To make the outfit a bit more me, I of course added a hair accessory. This is one of my favourites, from ASOS… obviously!

music genre inspired lookbook music to my noseIndie//Pop//On Tour//Biggest Fan//Rhythm//Stage Dive
music genre inspired lookbook music to my noseCombo #1: Indie + Pop (Purse (Jumble Sale) & Infared Lipstick (Topshop))

One of the things Music To My Nose promotes, is layering perfumes. I’d never thought about it before, but now I can do it easily! I tested out some combos, and these are my favourite I found! Mixing ‘Indie’ & ‘Pop’, gives you that classic scent that you’d find on your friend’s mum… you know that stereotypical mum scent? I know it sounds weird, and it might only be me, but these on top of each other, smell just like that! It’s a simple, fresh and comfortable mixture to wear. Very pleasant!

music genre inspired lookbook music to my noseCombo #2: Stage Dive + On Tour

I. am. not. kidding. This combination smells just like a strawberry and chocolate crepe. ‘Stage Dive’ is actually a chocolate scent, so mixing the two, makes sense, right?! If you want to smell edible, GET THESE TWO SCENTS! Weirdly, the strawberry in ‘On Tour’ comes out more when you mix the two… maybe that was purposeful? It’s like perfume magic.

music genre inspired lookbook music to my noseCombo #3: Biggest Fan + Rhythm

If you’re thinking of toning down one of these scents, then just add them together! Some how the scent gets more subtle, and it’s just a really light and airy fragrance. I could definitely imagine wearing it to the beach… If only these were waterproof so it would still be there after a quick dip… hmm… This combination is definitely going to be a beach bag essential!

I really hope you liked this post! I know it was slightly long, but I think Look books can be such a nice way to gain style inspiration, or just find separate pieces which you fancy the look of! 🙂 My next post will be a blog studio tour.. so stay tuned 😉 If you really liked it, please don’t forget to vote for me as Best Teen Style Blog! Click here to do so! I’m on Page 8! Thank you so much! 😀

Makie X Tolly Dolly Posh Product Collaboration

By May 12, 2014 Fashion, My Style

This post is just too exciting in many ways. I’m sorry I haven’t blogged in a week (terrible blogger), but I’ve been waiting for parcels etc etc, but this post should definitely make up for it! First of all, thank you SO much if you nominated my blog in the Company Magazine Blog Awards because… *drum roll* we’ve been shortlisted for the 2nd year! It would be awesome if you could click here to vote for me! I’m on Tab 8 under Best Teen Style Blog 😀 Another exciting thing is that my soft boxes finally arrived! This is the first blog post using them 😀 Anyway, this post is exciting in itself…

You may remember at the beginning of this year, I did a resolution post (read it here), where I said I wanted to a product collaboration with a brand. Well, let’s move down the line, 5 months later, and I’ve gone and done just that! The amazing people at Makie, a 3D printed toy brand from London, gave me and two other bloggers the chance to create our own outfit and have it sold on their shop. How cool?! It’s only small but I am absolutely thrilled to have been part of the project. I feel giddy with pride!

I love promoting innovative brands, and Makie is certainly one of them. 3D printing is something that will be a common household utility in the future, and all the dolls and accessories (excluding the outfits of course) are all printed from a 3D printer. I think it’s amazing! You can make your doll look like you, or whatever you want it to look like. They sell lots of different accessories, and now of course, the Teen Couture collection. 2 of my lovely blogging pals, Mia and Lexi, also have outfits which you should check out!

makie teen couture collection tolly dolly posh makie teen couture collection tolly dolly poshINCLUDED IN THE OUTFIT: TOP, SKIRT, PETTICOAT, YELLOW SHOES & FLOWER CROWN

As you know, I LOVE prints, so my design of course had to incorporate some! I decided on a full panel skirt with an additional petticoat, a yellow high neck, some winged high tops, and of course a floral crown! The prints are inspired by my current loves, including pineapples… obsessed with pineapples!  I also love yellow, so it seemed to right to have a matching top and shoes! I think the outfit really suits my personality and I hope other young girls like it too… or boys of course! It’s called ‘Posh Prints-ess’, because… well… prints!

makie teen couture collection tolly dolly poshmakie teen couture collection tolly dolly poshI’m going to treasure this forever. Although it is only a small piece, I would like to say it would be worth a lot in the future… perhaps? It’s my first ever product collaboration…. the first ever ‘X Tolly Dolly Posh’ design. I really hope you go ahead and treat yourself to one. Even if you don’t have a Makie doll, you could just keep it wrapped up and make yourself millions in the future… jokes, but you know what I mean! I wouldn’t be able to have these opportunities without your support, so thank you, I’m blessed 🙂 I really do hope you like it!

(This is not a sponsored post. Makie sent me the doll and outfit as a gift. I do not make any profit from the outfit being sold, currently. Read my full PR disclaimer here)

My Style: Blue Blue Pretty Pleats*

By May 4, 2014 My Style

Before I start this new My Style OOTD, I would just like to say how happy I am with my blog right now. I feel very excited about the content I am pushing out and what I have to come. The only thing I would say is that I would love if you guys could give some more feedback! I’d love to know if you enjoy my recent posts as much as I do! It would mean a lot. Thank you guys! Love you all 🙂 Exciting news too… I just purchased some soft box lights for YouTube and taking other kinds of images *gulps* 😀

As soon as this gorgeous (and sheer – the reason for the vest…) blouse from Sugarhill Boutique arrived, I knew I had to pair it with a light blue skirt. Originally I was going to opt for my ASOS pleated midi skirt, but it was a bit crinkled and I was in a hurry, so I threw on my tutu instead, and I am glad I did! To be honest, this outfit is slightly out of my comfort zone in a way… it’s very floaty but I think the way I accessorised it, makes it more me and a bit more funk-ay! The blouse isn’t just how it seems though… it has other secrets which I will mention later on 😉 Ooh ooh, I’m wearing my hair how I used to ages and ages ago! I went through a phase of wearing it like this every single day and I’m falling back in love with it!

It’s beautiful! I didn’t even realise it was pleated on the back until I took it out the packet. I think it just makes it even more amazing. It looks like a normal sheer blouse from the front (with a cute little heart pocket and matching top button), but then BOOM! A pleated back! As you’ll probably know from the amount of times I have said, I’m on a blouse high, and this is such a gorgeous addition. It could be worn in so many different ways, even more casually as the back really does most of the talking. I think when the weather perks up a bit more (saying that, it was beautiful today), I will have to invest in a bandeau because my vest really doesn’t make it look particularly amazing… 😉 Unfortunately I cannot wear a ‘sex-ay’ bra because um…. yup… *cries with laughter*

Let’s talk accessories shall we? My beautiful sister (who I can now officially ‘plug’ because she has her own blog – baby/mummy related) got me this little gold necklace a while back as a present, and I think it is so cute because it has a little camera on (i.e a refrence to my blawg), and it looks adorable with the gold heart button! This outfit was probably one of the first times I have mixed jewellery colours too! I’ve always thought that gold and silver would look funny together, but I think my ring actually compliments the whole look!

I ordered these awesome (and now sold out) Topshop sunglasses along with two other things (haul coming soon!), after a wish I wished for (ha) got actioned on Crowdwish! If you don’t know what I am talking about, Crowdwish is a site where you can post wishes/vote for wishes, and the ones which get the most votes, will be actioned! I’ve so far got a £30 Topshop voucher, and one of my own personal wishes actioned! Pretty cool huh? You can literally wish for anything as long as you think other people will vote for it too… so don’t go wishing for your brother’s girlfriend’s aunty’s granddad’s godmother to be able to fly… I wish you good luck on that one! 😉 The sunglasses remind me of the Jeremy Scott wing ones, so I’m really chuffed that I ordered them!

The other day I slipped on my lovely ASOS SOLDIER heels to find out that I no longer fit in them… so I thought. I then realised that I had left the innersoles in them! *slaps forehead* I’ve been wearing them non-stop this past week, and I simply adore them. ASOS shoes are looking good at the moment! I believe these are no longer available, but if you’re wondering just in-case, they’re really comfortable and the chunkiness will toughen up any outfit! Oh and can we admire those gorgeous flowers? Such a beautiful array of colours!

That’s it for me folks! See ya’ soooooon! Only 5 days until the Company Magazine Style Blogger Awards shortlist comes around… let’s all keep our fingers crossed that TDPFashion makes it for the 2nd year in a row *crosses fingers, toes and any other ‘crossable’ body part* 😉

Embellished Dinosaur Sunglasses DIY

By April 29, 2014 DIY & Lifestyle, My Style

Hello! How are you again my friend? Or maybe you are new here… doesn’t really matter because everybody is welcome. Let’s explain this post before I get too into my rambles… You may have read this post recently about a brand I discovered, and that sparked a light bulb above my head *ding* Why not do a DIY? I’m all about supporting brands, but if I can save a few bob here and there, than I would rather put my own spin on things, so me being me, I am bring you along for the ride and sharing how exactly I re-created these embellished dinosaur sunglasses… Quick note! The Company Magazine #StyleBloggerAwards nominations close tomorrow (aka 30th April), so I would love if you could nominate my blog as Best Teen Style Blog! Click here to do so! Thank you!

diy embellished dinosaur sunglasses spangled TOY DINOSAUR €0.50 (JUMBLE SALE), SUNGLASSES (eBAY), WHITE ACRYLIC (ART SHOP), PINK ACRYLIC (DALER ROWNEY), YELLOW ACRYLIC (PEBEO STUDIO) & OPTIONAL EMBELLISHMENTS (ART SHOP)

This is basically a list of things you will need… obviously. I went for a dinosaur toy for mine because I like they way they look, plus when you see a basket full of them at a jumble sale, and you are in need of a toy (for DIY purposes… duhh), you obviously don’t pass it by, do you? My sunglasses were really cheap ones which I previously used for this sunglasses DIY. The acrylic paints you can get from anywhere really, I personally prefer the Pebeo Studio ones as they are surprisingly more opaque than the usual Daler Rowney tubes. Oh and don’t forget to name your animal of choice… I asked my brother and he said ‘Sunny’… how original, heh? You can also get some embellishments, but these are of course optional… I think the dinosaur might be enough in itself for some people!

diy embellished dinosaur sunglasses spangled The first step is to paint 2 smooth and even coats of the white acrylic. This helps the colour you put on top really stand out, and also get rid of the previous colour. I could have kept mine red, but there were a few chips on it, so this covered things up! If you have coloured sunglasses you could even keep it at this! I feel sorry for the lady in my ASOS magazine… her dress was so perfect… naughty Mr Sunny getting it all covered in dinosaur footprints! 😉

diy embellished dinosaur sunglasses spangled Then you want to paint 2 coats of your acrylic of choice. You may notice that I have left a white space on his tummy… this is because I wanted a bit of a gradient for added definition, but again, this is only optional. If you want it a block colour, then paint it all in and ignore the next step…

diy embellished dinosaur sunglasses spangled The third step is to fill in the space we left. If you decide you want it a block colour, then ignore this like I mentioned. I think he looks really cute with the pop of yellow! Make sure you are patient with this bit… I rushed because it was getting dark for pictures (#bloggerproblems), so parts of it ended up being a weird orangey, patchy colour. At first I used a sponge to get a gradient effect, but because Mr Sunny has annoying hands (do dinosaurs have hands?!), I ended up going in with a small brush as it was getting a tad messy. I also painted all the way down underneath his tail for an added effect.

diy embellished dinosaur sunglasses spangled Ergh, ignore the change of light… one day I shall own soft box lights so all my pictures will be perfect! Ha! Step 4 is a little tricky. I recommend waiting until your toy is 100% dry (maybe even wait a day), so the lens of your sunglasses don’t get mucky. For finding the perfect fit, pop on your glasses, then slip your toy friend where you want it to go. I found that Mr Sunny fitted best on the edge… which wasn’t very practical seeing as I can now only close 1 arm/temple of my glasses! You could put yours wherever you like though… just remember that they might not close up! Then whip out that hot glue gun, squeezing some onto the belly of your toy, sticking it in place. Be careful please… I don’t want to be blamed for any burnt fingers!

The fifth step is totally optional, but I think it balances the whole thing out. I looked into our ‘buttons’ box, and found these sparkly gems which were the perfect size for my sunglasses. Again, just glue them down with your hot glue gun! I love how it looks like Mr Sunny is holding one of them… maybe their Mr Sunny eggs?… hang on… do male dinosaurs keep the eggs?… maybe Mr Sunny got divorced before the babies were born… and Mrs (or not Mrs anymore) Sunny decided to leave him with them all… Yep, okay I am a tad bit weird discussing an inanimate object’s relationship.

Dah-dah! The final step is to… ROCK THOSE SUNNIES! YEAH! Papa Posh said I was brave to think I might wear these out… maybe I’ll save them for my trip to England, where wearing crazy clothes seems to be more acceptable. I love them though, and I love how Mr Sunny turned out. Do you like his colourful make-over? I certainly do! I do have to say, I’m not sure these will become my every day pair of sunglasses for this summer, but I am sure they will get used *fingers crossed*… and I will be sure to report back on how many strange looks, and laughs I get from the locals… Did I have a bit too much fun with editing that one picture above? Yes. Do I regret it? Absolutely not.

If you re-create these sunglasses, do make sure to tweet me (@TollyDollyPosh), or tag me on Instagram (@tdposh) and I will be sure to RT and have a gander!

My Style: I’ve Got Those Chatty Feet*

By April 17, 2014 My Style

Hello! How are you? I have another OOTD today because I just couldn’t resist. My schedule is officially… empty… well apart from my next blog post, but it feels good! I’ve been wanting to shoot at an oil seed rape (is it that or rapeseed?) field for a while now and I finally did before the sun officially set last night! I hope you like this post as it has a little something extra added in 😉

chatty feet punky pins peacocks ootdchatty feet punky pins peacocks ootd chatty feet punky pins peacocks ootdWhat I Wore: Stripey Top (Saint James), Polka Dot Skirt* (Peacocks), Miko Socks £7.00* (Chatty Feet), Black Jelly Shoes (Supermarket), Multi Gum Ball Junk Charm Necklace £18.00* (Punky Pins), Ring (Octopus – I think?) & Sunglasses (#stylebloggerawards2013 – Nominate me for 2014!)

I recently got sent an awesome pair of socks… sounds weird right? But honestly, they are so fun! The brand which is, Chatty Feet, has an awesome vibe to it, and basically makes my feet look happy all day long! I knew straight away I had to do some sort of thing involving the song Happy Feet – the one time it is acceptable to be a real life Muppet! – so I decided to film a cute little video for you! It’s not amazing but I hope it brightens up your day none the less! I will talk more about the socks later though 😉 Can we appreciate that I actually got a good picture of that pose? By that pose, I mean that one where you hold your pony tail up, trying not to look like a weirdo? Yeah, I got a good picture. Let’s also appreciate how I wore not only stripes and spots together… but navy and black. 0_0 Shocking I know!

chatty feet punky pins peacocks ootdchatty feet punky pins peacocks ootdchatty feet punky pins peacocks ootdOooh hazy evening pictures haha! I was actually not sure about the skirt I was wearing because of the length, but I think it’s okay now! Being a fairly long legged gal (by fairly, I mean ‘maybe I count as one’), short skirts usually look a bit odd, but the fit and fabric of this one makes up for it! I think monochrome polka dots go well with quite a lot of things, so this is a nice addition to my wardrobe! I’d had my eye on this Punky Pins necklace though… it’s so cool! It’s sort of tacky, but in a weird and wonderful way. I love how it has a mini Pepsi bottle, and a randomly placed Colgate tube, in amongst a load of other random stuff! As it is so colourful, it means it can go with lots of different outfits! Definitely a new favourite 🙂 Another new favourite of mine are these beautiful coloured fields. Last winter was pretty bad so I think they are more obvious this year, and they just make me smile! Perfect photo opportunity!

chatty feet punky pins peacocks ootd chatty feet punky pins peacocks ootd chatty feet punky pins peacocks ootd chatty feet punky pins peacocks ootdI picked up my cute little ring quite a while ago in a shop called ‘Octopus’ back in the UK. I think there are quite a few dotted around, and they’re stuff is really cute! They actually have a fairly similar shop in a town near us which I always like to browse. For now though, let’s talk about socks! These are the socks I featured in my Chatty Feet Look Book (embedded above), and they are just so bright! They have so many cute characters, and I seriously want to get my nephew a pair! They are kind of a 2 in one, of socks and puppets really, which is a bonus! The only thing which I would say is that they do wear away quite quickly, and you need to be careful of the wash! They sort of shrunk when I washed them… Other than that I think they make great gifts and look awesome with sandals! I have my eyes on the Yoko Mono pair as they are perfect for summer!

I hope you liked this post and the added YouTube video! It would be awesome if you could nominate www.tollydollyposhfashion.com as Best Teen Style Blog! You can do so here!
