ASOS Women’s & Men’s Bargain Finds: Under £20

By July 10, 2013 Fashion, My Style

WOW! It has been a heck of along time since I did some full on ‘bloggy woggy’ stuff hasn’t it? I have missed it very much, so here is a double decker post! A very odd, 9, ASOS bargains for both men and women! I hope you enjoy the old me again! Haha! Also, scroll down for something extra special! Yes, I do mean my Girl Talk feature! Eeep!

asos1

1. Shiny Pu Jacket £14.00, 2. Petite Exclusive Tie Dye Skinny Jeans £10.50, 3. Fetch Leather Studded Sandals £10.50, 4. Peace Sign Skinny Waist Belt £2.00 & 5. T-Shirt With Embellished David Bowie £17.50.

PU Jacket: I don’t really know why, but I LOVE this jacket! I would never go for something like it, but it just looks quite unusual! It’s a right bargain too in the sale! Hopefully if I get some more dosh, I will be able to grab it before it goes off the site! I would probably wear it with some nice smart printed trousers, or a jumpsuit.

Skinny Jeans: Again, what a bargain?! These are so cute! They would be perfect for summer with a nice neon top and some sandals. For £11.00, you can’t really go wrong with these jeans!

Sandals: I have been needing some sandals for ages now, and these are so cute! I love the multi coloured studs and the fact that they look quite comfy is a plus too. I prefer sandals with wider strappy bits so they feel more secure on my tiny feet!

Belt: Just like the PU Jacket, I’m not really sure why but I kinda’ love this belt? It’s very cheap and cheerful, and for £2.00 I am thinking maybe to buy it! It would be nice with a maxi skirt or a jumpsuit!

David Bowie Top: HELLO! OMG. This top is so cool! If you are a lover like of the legend himself, just like me my whole family, then I believe you may need this. It is quite expensive, and I am sure you could find a good dupe, but I love how it is embellished, and it looks quite slouchy, so it is a nice tuckable(?! – I do make up some funny words!) top.

asos2

6. Primark Mickey Mouse Sweat Top £8.00, 7. Cropped Boyfriend Sweatshirt £16.00, 8. Green Tort Wayfarer with Mirror £7.00 & 9. Round Sunglasses with Multi Colour Mirror Lens £15.00

Mickey Mouse Sweatshirt: There are quite a few reasons I shouldn’t even be looking at this jumper. 1 – I simply do not have the cash, 2 – The weather is *fingers crossed* staying hot from now on, and 3 – Primark on ASOS don’t ship abroad! I know it’s a UK brand, but you would have thought that would be a reason for going on ASOS! #rage. However, you guys in the UK are very lucky because you can buy this amazingly cute and retro sweatshirt. You lucky devils.

Cropped Sweatshirt: Again, I really shouldn’t be looking at sweatshirts when it is 35 degrees outside.. *oops* but I just LOVE this one! It’s a really nice colour and I love how it is cropped. You could make this really dressy with smart trousers, or simple and casual with a pair of jeans or shorts. Simple but sweet!

Mirrored Wayfarers: These are actually from the men’s section at ASOS, but I LOVE them! I used to own a £1 pair similar to these from Primark, but when we moved house, sadly they passed away – RIP Mirrored Lens *sob sob* – but these are even better! They have such a cool print and a nice lens colour!

Round Mirrored Sunglasses: Again, sticking with the theme of men’s mirrored lenses, these are AMAZING!! I have been really loving LLYMLRS blog and she has been rocking a plain black pair of these. I simply need them in my life. NOW…. sadly my bank account does not agree.

I hope you like the bargains I found! Moving on to the extra special thing… LOOK! It’s me in Girl Talk! I was only expecting to be in the magazine and on the plastic sleeve, but it was quite a nice surprise when I saw my face on the cover! WOOP! It would make my day if you could pick it up! Sorry these aren’t amazing quality pictures, but I have put a PDF image below too!! Thanks so much for your support once again! Love you guys!

By The Pool Essentials: Swimwear & Accessories

By July 3, 2013 Beauty, DIY & Lifestyle, Fashion, My Style

Howdy! As you may know, I live in France, the south to be precise, which means getting my, by the pool essentials spot on, takes a little bit of thinking! I don’t want to be too hot when its 30 degrees do I? So, I decided to write a little post on what I take to the pool (or beach) with me!
*cue hawaiian music*

by the pool essentials by the pool essentials

A Lilo: For a while we didn’t have a lilo for our pool because the last one burst, but now we do, and I am so glad! Having a lilo is so nice! You can just sit back relax, not get your hair wet, and even sun bathe, all at the same time! It’s also good for people who aren’t the best at swimming, and of course for those sunny evenings when you don’t want to get in, but would like to float about for a while! Our’s cost around €15.00 because it is quite big, but usually on holidays I think they cost about €8.00, and usually the shop staff will blow it up for free so no worries on your lungs exploding! If not, then… unlucky, loser!! Hehe

Floppy Hat: I bought this from a jumble sale and it is perfect! Hats are a big essential if you burn a lot because they will protect your face which is most sensitive to the sun rays. The reason a floppy hat (don’t you find that funny? Floppy?) is good, is because it should cover your shoulders and neck with the shadow, which will add extra protection to us ‘burners’.

Flip Flops: These are my favourite flip flops! I got these for my birthday once and I love them! They have that holiday/festival feel to them, and as any flip flops are, they are convenient! You can just slip them on, walk to the pool, and take them off, instead of sandals etc where you have to unbuckle them… I know I’m lazy…

Sun Cream: Quite an obvious one, but I know a lot of people are guilty of not putting on a bit of SPF! I use Amie’s Skin Shield Moisturiser* for short periods of time in the sun, and a ordinary SPF30 sun cream for long periods. It is always good to have some by, especially after coming out of the water, as that is when your skin is more prone to burning.

by the pool essentials by the pool essentials

Bikini: I don’t usually wear bikinis at the beach, but the by the pool, I don’t mind whipping one out! This one is from M&S and it is so pretty with the laser cut frills! I also like how the straps are around the neck, as I love wearing crop tops where you can see the bikini, I don’t really know why, but I just do! If I’m not wearing a bikini, I will wear a swimsuit and if it is a little cooler, I will wear trunks on top (I know, but they are girls ones!)

Cover-Up: When I’m at home, I usually just use my dressing gown, as it is a 2 in 1 (towel), but when it comes to the beach, I probably don’t want to be spotted in it.. so a light oversized shirt does the trick! I like to look out for nice ones at Jumble Sales and they work a treat! Not only can you cover up, you can also do up the buttons and put some shorts on for when you are going to go grab a nice cool drink!

Sunglasses: Obviously if you are wearing a hat, you may not need these too, but if you want extra protection, I always think people should carry a pair around! The yellow pair above are from Claire’s and I love them! I would wear my Zoobug AVs*, but I would prefer to wear an old pair if they are going to get wet!

Beach Bag: I don’t have a proper beach bag, but I find that this green and yellow crochet one does just the trick! I got it from a Jumble Sale, and at first I thought it was a bit old, but when my parents saw it they told me I had to have it, and I agreed, I did. It fits everything in and I love the detailing. My favourite bag of the past month!

Private Swim Lessons: I know this isn’t a fashion-y one, but I thought of it and had to mention it! Before last year I couldn’t swim, embarrassingly enough! I was able to get private lessons for free by my school and without it sounding too dramatic, it seriously has helped me so so much! I would search around for cheap private swimming lessons because I know what it feels like to not be able to swim. Most teachers will be really understanding and will go through each step at your own pace. I can now swim on my own, go under water in the deep end, and if somebody asks me to jump in… I will attempt it. I know it can be nerve racking at first, but it is so worth it.

Ironically, I am now looking out too grey skies again, so I will have to wait to get these all back out! I love summer, but I think for everyone this year has been a very unlucky ’13’ for the weather. *touch wood* it comes around soon!

My Style: A Cherry Picking, Flower Blooming Day

By June 22, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle, Fashion, My Style

Whilst you are reading this I am away in Andorre! My brother is going to be there all summer with his biking friends so we decided to stay for a couple of days before they all arrived! I will speak soon, and enjoy the new post!

DSC07979DSC07961What I Wore: Green Ruffled Cap Sleeve Top (M&S), White & Grey Daisy Print Dress (Jumble Sale), Red Daps worn as Sandals (Primark) & Floral Alice Band (Primark/DIY)

DSC07969 DSC07962Last week we had a glorious day! It was the perfect temperature and the sky was clear and blue! #perfection To top it all off we actually found a cherry tree outside my bedroom window (Kinda silly of us not to have noticed, but hey ho!). It had LOADS of cherries on it! They were so sweet and delicious! Can’t wait for it to start growing again! I also got cooking  drink making in the kitchen, and made the BEST – slightly biased there – strawberry milkshake, you will EVER taste (recipe below). It was delicious and the whole family drank it! *pats self on back* After the amazing drink we sat around in the sun enjoying a nice bowl of cherries. It wasn’t quite hot enough for the pool, but it was still a marvellous day.  (BTW, my hair looks way darker than it is in these pictures!!)

PicMonkey Collage DSC07960Strawberry Milkshake Recipe: (4 x Glasses)
– 2 & a half scoops of strawberry ice cream
– Half a glass or strawberry sirop
– Enough milk… not quite sure how much
–
A blender

Put all the ingredients in to your mixer, in any order. Turn your blender on  and mix *whurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr* stop when you think it is smooth enough or as chunky as you would like it. Add more sirop or ice cream to your taste, and voila! Add a strawberry on the side and a nice paper straw, and you will be done! *gulp gulp gulp* ‘Very nice Tolly’ Well, thank you!

DSC07970 DSC07965How would you like me to do recipes on my blog? I know it isn’t to do with fashion, but I believe I am quite good at doing drinks 🙂 Let me know in the comments below!

Pop Band Hair Ties Review*

By June 15, 2013 Beauty, My Style

Bonjour! If you don’t know by now, I have hair. LONG hair. You maybe thinking, ‘and… your point is?’ I need a solution on putting it up comfortably. This is where Pop Band Hair Ties comes into play. Pop Band are a new brand selling a new type of hair tie. It means that you get no kinks, and no broken hair! *Winner Winner Chicken-dinner*

pop band hair ties review pop band hair ties review pop band hair ties review Purple Heart Individual £5.00*, Funky Zebra Twin Pack £6.00*, Silver Fox Twin Pack £6.00* & Peace Multi Pack £6.00*.

I am really happy with the ones I received. I love them all! My favourites are the neon ones as there are lots of them to mix and match.  I also like how the Twin Packs have a headband and a hair tie so you can have one for putting your hair back, and one for putting it up! I really like the packaging too, they all came in a nice pink jiffy bag, in their little packets.

pop band hair ties review pop band hair ties reviewThey are all really comfortable in my hair and on my wrist. At the moment I am getting loads of wispy fly away’s around my face, and now I have a comfortable solution! I can tie my hair up and have some cute bracelets too! The way the bands are done, it sort of makes them look like festival bands! (You know the ones which you get at festivals?) I love that! The stretchiness of the bands is really good! They won’t snap because of the way they are made, and they can be worn with a bun in your hair! I am not sure how they would work for a plait as I have yet to try, but I am sure it would look fine! The one thing I would say, would be the fact that if you put your hair in a bun regularly, they can become stretched to that size, which means it can become more loose for an ordinary pony tail.

PopBand Hair Ties are a great idea for a gift, a party bag or just something to give to yourself 😉 PopBand are also sponsoring The Posh Fashion Awards this year which is super duper awesome! The winner of Best Young Blogger will receive a goody bag full of PopBands, how cool is that?! So make sure you get nominating for your fave bloggers aged 10 -16!

#boohooDIY Festival Aztec Tassel Top*

By June 6, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle, Fashion, My Style

Boohoo was one of the first online shops which I came across when I started blogging, so when I knew they were doing a DIY Campaign, I had to be on it! Boohoo asked me whether I would like to take part in the #boohooDIY Festival Campaign, which is where anyone and everyone can show their creative minds off to celebrate the launch of the new Festival Collection! I received a kit which was full of bits and bobs that I could use to re-vamp a Boohoo product, and here’s what I did!

#boohooDIY festival diy #boohooDIY festival diyI was able to choose the Boohoo top I wanted, so I went with the pre-‘tassled’ top, in fluro coral. (Buy it here) It is super duper bright, which means it is perfect for summer and going to festivals! Also, your friends will definitely not lose you amongst the crowds! Haha In the set was a Boohoo Lookbook (It had a poster on the back which is now in my room!), Puffy Paints, Studs, Gems and Tacky Glue.

#boohooDIY festival diy

I decided to just stick with the Puffy Paints and Gems for a simple DIY. I went for a plain pattern, (above). It wasn’t inspired by anything, I just thought of it on the spot! I used all the colours of the paints, along with 2 blue gems, and a silver one.

#boohooDIY festival diy #boohooDIY festival diyPuffy Paints dry 3D, so you do have to use quite a lot for it to really stand out. I glued down the gems with the tacky glue, and let it dry for 6 HOURS. Yes, it took 6 hours!! The Puffy Paints took forever to dry, but it was worth it in the end! The colours come out darker once they have set, which I really like, as before they were quite pale. I also attempted to plait the tassels, but they ended up getting all tangled up when I put on the top, so I had to un do them – this is why some of the tassels are shorter, below! The cut offs meant I was able to create a bracelet! A happy accident!

Overall I am quite happy with my DIY skills! I think the pictures make the wobbly Puffy Paint look worse… ‘Excuses Excuses Tolly‘. I think I will be wearing this by the pool when it warms up (It was 10 degrees the other day. 10 DEGREES!), and hopefully I will be wearing shorts! I really enjoyed doing this DIY for Boohoo!

ZooBug Children’s Eyewear Review*

By June 3, 2013 Fashion, My Style

If you know me, I love sunglasses. I have a notice board where you are meant to slip pictures in, designated to them. So when Zoobug children’s eyewear contacted me I just couldn’t resist saying yes to receiving some of their gorgeous goodies in the post. *Adds 2 more pairs to the collection* Warning: Picture heavy post!

Zoobug Children's Eyewear Review Zoobug Children's Eyewear ReviewAV Orange €55.00 (ZooBug)* & Limited Edition Frames (Zoobug)*

The pairs I received are gorgeous! When I was told I was going to receive some, I actually looked at these Aviators, and by chance, I got them! I never wear these styles, but I think they are actually okay! My favourite have got to be the AVs, as they are bright and perfect for summer! I also LOVE the pop of blue on the ears! The purple pair have got silk in them apparently?! How cool is that?! I really like the print, and with the jacket I wore to the Style Blogger Awards, they go perfectly!

Zoobug Children's Eyewear Review Zoobug Children's Eyewear ReviewThe lenses in both of the pairs are really good quality. I usually wear cheap bargain pairs from Primark, and I can sort of see the difference, but I would have to say they aren’t quite as good as, say, Ray Ban lenses. They are both polarised, with 100% UV protection just like adult sunglasses, so I’m safe from the sun! I like the colour of the lenses though, they are a nice grey/purple colour, so it doesn’t make anything too dark. The purple pair are probably most comfortable, but that may just be on me, as I do tend to find AVs quite uncomfortable. I was surprised by the sizing, as to me ‘Children’s’ sunglasses, sound too small for the used-to-adult-sized Tolly, so that’s a plus! After using them on an odd couple of hot days last week, I found they got more comfortable and they didn’t look so weird on me!

Zoobug Children's Eyewear Review Zoobug Children's Eyewear ReviewAs you can see the packaging is very nice! I like how sleek it is, and how sturdy it feels. I am definitely going to be able to keep them safe! The cases are also very light weight so for any of you mummies, you don’t have to worry about any extra weight when carrying around little Benny’s glasses! I have no idea who Benny is! You also get a nice wipe which means you don’t have to fear scratches from wiping them with the edge of a t-shirt!

Zoobug Children's Eyewear Review Zoobug Children's Eyewear Review Zoobug Children's Eyewear ReviewWhat I Wore: White Jacket €1.00 (Jumble Sale – DIY), Floral Tie Up Top €1.00 (Jumble Sale), Floral Broach (Vintage), Grey ZARA Shorts €1.00 (Jumble Sale), Floral Keds (ASOS) & AV Orange €55.00 (ZooBug)*

Zoobug Children's Eyewear Review Zoobug Children's Eyewear ReviewMay we just applaud my editing skills? I said in my latest OOTD that I am really enjoying editing, and it may seem vain, but I am really proud of myself! As a blogger, not having a fancy camera can be quite annoying, but I think I am making it work quite well!

My Style: Dancing With The Clouds

By May 28, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle, Fashion, My Style

Last weekend, the last day of me being 12 to be precise, me and the family (excluding 3), went out to celebrate my birthday as the next day Papa Posh was off to work! We decided to go to a pretty little village and a have a bite to eat with a ‘brisk’ walk.

my style my stylemy style my style my styleWhat I Wore: Coat (John Lewis), Embellished Lace Top €3.00 (Jumble Sale), Blue Floral Dress €2.00 (Jumble Sale), Stripey Top (St James), White Trousers, Pop Band* – on my wrist (Miss GlossyBox), Mint Green Trainers £7.99 (H&M) & Barry M Greenberry £3.99 (ASOS)
on my nails

As you can probably tell by my blog banner, I LOVE mixing prints. I just think it is so fun and cute! I really like this dress as it’s very floaty, yet the neck line and sleeveless arms make it quite fitted. I also love this ‘Chanel-esque’ embellished top which was an absolute bargain. I knew it had to be mine, and I even got €2.00 off for haggling, oh yes. My coat is probably one of my favourites I own, as it is nice and snug, but also has cute little details like the collar, and the bow on the back. It was a little chilly that day so we had to wrap up a bit more 😉 I don’t usually like wearing trousers with dresses, but somehow this looks okay (I think) as the dress is quite floaty, and doesn’t have a plain hem.

my stylePapa Posh making his first appereance…. well his back…. my style my styleCan we just admire the beauty of these pictures. I am really enjoying my editing at the moment, and I feel like I should stick with this look. It just looks so darn pretty!

As I said we had some lunch (in the place above) which was quite yummy, but the portions were like, HUGE. The french just seem to eat, and eat and eat, but somehow never gain weight. After walking around (below pictures) we then went to a Chateaux where we shown around by the Great Grandson of the owner! He had a rather strange wart on his nose which did make me and my brother laugh though…. hehehe. After that we drove back home, stopping on the way to grab a few things and search down our surname amongst the Coca-Cola’s. Unfortunately only names like Cyril and Celine were left. 🙁

my style my style my styleSuch a pretty village! It’s called Saint-Cirq Lapopie if you’re wondering!

I had quite a nice day but sadly, as I said, we had to say bye bye to Papa Posh for a while, and celebrate my birthday via Skype! It was quite hilarious really, we had two computers set up, one with my sister and one with my dad on it. Sounds simple, but it really isn’t!

On Wednesday 29th (tomorrow – click the link!), I am off to the Style Blogger Awards, and quite literally, it is all because of YOU! The funds in which you donated was exactly £500.00 on the spot! I am really excited to meet most of the bloggers which I chat to daily, and of course see who wins the award I am up for! *fingers crossed* I come back with a win! I am sure you will know by Twitter! Of course I will be blogging all about it! The posts will be in 4 or 5 parts, starting with packing, and ending with the awards! I hope you enjoy it all!

DIY Embellished Sunglasses

By May 22, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle, Fashion, My Style

A massive trend which was first introduced by designers such as Chanel, is Embellished Sunglasses. Whether you want studs poking out of your brows, or want a few daisies bordering your eyes, there is something for everyone! Some of these sunglasses cost a BOMB, so I’ve decided to show you how I made some for less than £3.00!! Enjoy 🙂

DSC07413Wayfarer Sunglasses – 99p (eBay)//Floral Cabochons – £1.04 (eBay)

The Sunglasses in which I bought are just plain white. I went for this style as it suits me best, but I think any style would do for this DIY, as long as it has room to fit the flowers. You must get ‘Cabochons’ and NOT buttons, as they have flat backs which makes it super easy to stick on. I went for one colour as it was a bit cheaper. You could also use different things, like studs or perhaps little stars, or animals. Mix it up! It is best to use a Hot Glue Gun as it means you can take off any mistakes(?!) as the glue can come off quite easily, but still holds things down for a good amount of time.

DSC07415First of all you want to heat up the Hot Glue Gun and get it so it is dripping out the end on it’s own, because it will be easier to use. Whilst you wait, think about how you will put the Cabochons on. Put a book underneath so they don’t slip off. The best designs are either across the whole brow, or just in the corners, but you could also do the sides or ‘arms’ of the Sunglasses too.

Secondly, when the Glue has melted fully, add one small dot the place you want to stick the Cabochon onto. DO NOT put the Glue on the Cabochon itself as you could burn yourself, and it may spread out and make the Glue visible when pressing it down. When pulling the Hot Glue Gun away from the glasses, pull them away from the lenses to avoid any glue going onto them. You could put a sticky note over the lenses too to make sure this doesn’t happen. Repeat this process until you have finished the design, and leave them to cool.

DSC07428 DSC07430The complete design! Pretty cool, huh? 🙂 Make sure to be careful with them!

In total these cost me £2.03, as I already had the Glue, so at the most it will cost you £5.00! It’s super easy, and you can experiment with different designs. I think these will look great for summer, and will be a great statement to add to any outfit. This is a great thing to try out as some cost £15.00, and for £2.00, I think we all know which is the better deal! I hope you enjoyed this ‘DIY Embellished Sunglasses’ tutorial and do make sure to tweet me if you give it a whirl! Or Instagram a picture using #TDPSunnies

Will you be trying this DIY out or will you buy a more expensive pair? Have you already tried this DIY out? Make sure to leave a comment below!

My Style: Not For Ponies*

By May 15, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle, Fashion, My Style

A while back I found an online store called Not For Ponies, and I thought it was super duper cute! It mixes basic pieces with cute twists in really good quality fabrics. Beckie at Not For Ponies was kind enough to send me 2 of the Pug Tops which are my favourite from the shop! They’re so basic yet so cute and versatile, plus there is a French Pug one!

not for ponies t-shirt reviews not for ponies t-shirt reviewsWhat I Wore:French Pug T-Shirt £20.00* (Not For Ponies), Floral Hareem Trousers €3.00 (Jumble Sale), Pink Belt (Oxfam), Mint Green Trainers £7.99 (H&M), Bracelet (Primark), DIY Sunglasses £2.03 (DIY Coming Very Soon!)

The grey one is my favourite top of the two. I really like the grey colour as it is sort of marbley. I also LOVE the french pug! It’s not just printed on, it is sewn on so it looks a lot better and feels much better quality, and is obviously going to stay put! There was one thing I did find with the French Pug T-Shirt, is that around the edges of the pug was a sort of brown-ish orange colour, which I thought perhaps was to do with ironing, but I really don’t think it matters too much. The fabric is very soft, and feels very strong and durable, yet nice and light, and I would say it is like Topshop quality, so pretty darn good! I like how it doesn’t fit perfectly, so it feels more comfy and it also looks great tucked into baggy trousers like these ones. Mixing it with the trainers makes it feel casual and preppy, and I really like the feel of that style. It will be perfect for summer where I live, as it will be light and comfy rather than something that sticks to my body and makes me feel gross! I also love the rolled up sleeve detail, because it makes it feel a bit more ‘styled’ and edgy. Pretty much, I LOVE THEM! I would also style the Pink Pug T-Shirt with a midi skirt and a the same shoes, for a more girly look, which I am sure you will see on this blog one day soon!

Not For Ponies is a pop-inspired lifestyle brand.  Everything is designed and hand made by them in their Manchester based studio. They have become well known for their quirky applique T Shirts and Sweaters, and have been featured in National Magazines such as Company, Reveal, Heat, Now, Closer, Bella, Mizz (Tolly Dolly Posh is featured in Mizz this tomorrow! – May 16th), Shout and Love It. They are inspired by all kinds of weird, whacky, cute and quirky graphic imagery and are fuelled by Earl Grey Tea and Hobnob biscuits. Their stock caters for Women, Men and Children in a variety of sizes, and XS or XL sizes can be made up! (Like I had done for me!)

Side Note: I would just like to thank all my readers who have supported me over the past week. I can now say that on the 29th May, I will be leaving France to London, because of YOU! You are getting me tho the Company Magazine Style Blogger Awards! Thank You!

(I am very grateful that Not For Ponies sent me 2 of their products to review. 100% of the words above are true, and are no way edited for the sake of having free products. I wish Not For Ponies a very enjoyable year!)
