How To Get Inspired: The Blogger Way

By November 24, 2012 Beauty, DIY & Lifestyle, My Style

Now, as you know The Blogger Trend is big this season, so I decided to take you down a trip of getting inspired. So, I am welcoming you to my workspace and bedroom…

Pin Board & Instagram Wall

Pin Boards & Instagram Walls are so easy to create. I bought my Pin Board back in the UK, for under £4 at Staples, and just got a bunch of pins. I stick on To Do lists, things I would love to own, places I would love to go, magazine clippings, labels, and other cool stuff, including a piece of candy rock, and a mini shoe keyring! To create in Instagram Wall, all you have to do is create an account, take some snaps, and print them out, and then, obviously, stick them up!

Everything! Oh, and my Dr Marten poster!

Yep! I have a Dr Marten poster! It is to keep me dreaming of owning a pair! I also have my Access All Areas pass from the Clothes Show London 2011, and a dollar note up there. Interesting… but, it looks cool, and it keeps me cool – by that, I mean thinking & dreaming cool stuff!

Sorry, I just couldn’t resist! I love this birthday ‘cat’ that I got this year, it’s so cute! Also, I love the clipping I cut out of the ‘Fashion’s Most Wanted’.

I love my Dr Marten’s poster! I also love, cute cartoon things, like this Make-Up case! It’s great for holding stuff that you don’t use all the time, and also a cute decoration! Also, here’s another picture of my Instagram Wall, just so you can see the sorts of things I like to show off! Ha!

To make your room extra colourful, and quirky, just add some cute flirty decorations! I love it! Also, things I do like to put on my Instagram Wall, are pictures of cool items, my cat, my sister – as I miss her so much 😉 – and anything generally well Instagramed.

So, there you have it! An insight into how I get inspired, and I like to show off my style. Oh, and when my room is painted, I will do a tour of my room 😉 Also, if you want to know some of my favourite online Pinboards, here they are…

Pinterest – I love the ease of it, but it is mostly public, and public sharing.

Springpad – I prefer this for private sharing, and private notebooks. I like making up notebooks to help friends think of ideas for their bedrooms etc.

Miranda Kerr vs Kate Moss:

By November 21, 2012 Beauty, Fashion

Yes, it’s the new big competition in the modelling world. Will Miranda Kerr out run Kate Moss? The new girl on the seen (Well, if you like to call modelling since you were 13 ‘new!’) is giving Kate Moss a run for her money! Next season, see’s the Baby Face, Victoria’s Secret Angel, Miranda take on the role of the Mango Model for the Spring 13 Campaign. Kate Moss was modelling for Mango, for the past 3 seasons, but now things have changed around. Now, except from Kate’s new biography & documentary (I know, it’s been a very long wait…), do you think it won’t be long until Kate Moss is only seen in the history books? Well, the other day I did a ‘Fashion-Off’ between the females of the I’m A Celebrity Jungle, and actually I’m going to use that again! Let the games begin…

I’m going to leave this one to you guys… Enter the poll below…

Beauty Tips: Skin Tone

By November 20, 2012 General

I know that a lot of people find it very hard to match skin tones to make-up so here is my guide on ‘How To Find Your Perfect Make-Up Match!’ This is not a foundation guide, it is purely for eye make-up, the lips and blusher etc 🙂

Light: Bourjois Smokey Eyes Nude Ingenu £7.99, Accessorize Lip Stick Velvet Pink £4.95 & Bourjois Pastel Joues Blusher Rose Frisson £7.49

Mid Tone: Look Triple Hit Trio Eye Shadow La Luxe £7.50, 2true Plumptuous Lip Gloss No 3 Clear Shimmer £1.99 & Bourjois Blush Pastel Joues Rose De Jaspe £7.49

Dark: Accessorize Merged Eyeshadow Golden Brown £3.95, Accessorize Lip Stick Coral Crush £4.95 & MEMEME Blush Box 1 Coral £8.50

Created via TAAZ.com

For Light Skin, I believe you should add a bit of colour but not too much, otherwise it will make you look a bit like a barbie doll, and a bit too done up. On the eyes, play it simple with a soft smokey eye; On the cheeks, create a natural blush with a pretty pink colour, and on the lips, go for a matte red, or a darker pink.

Created via TAAZ.com

For Mid Tone Skin, Plum is your answer! On the lips add a dark plum colour which will make your lips look plump and soft, as well as on the eyes. For the cheeks, use a natural skin tone colour, or a reddish brown. Don’t go to bright, but you can use red or dark browns, which will look great for any special event.

Created via TAAZ.com

For Dark Skin Tones, use red for the lips, especially if you have a naturally dewy skin. Don’t use red if you have an oily skin, dewy and oily are different! For the cheeks, play it all natural, or go for a natural red. On the eyes, go golden brown, it will look natural, but also bring out your eyes.

I created the make-over pictures at Taaz.com, where you can give yourself, or these model pictures, a make-over, they are great help!

This A/W brought Baroque dresses back to the fashion scene, with designers like Dolce & Gabanna making a massive impact, through skate dresses and many other styles…

Images from Harper's Bazaar

This style is also hot on the high street so, I have found 3 dresses which have great prices, and have also found 3 accessories which will match the style. I hope you enjoy, and it will get you ready for the ‘Part-aaay’ month 🙂

Jacquard Sheer Panel Dress £55.00 & Jet Chandelier Earrings £12.00 (Warehouse)

The Christmas Decorations will have competition with this dress! Change it up, and instead of Gold, go for Silver. Add these earrings and you’ll stand out from the crowd, for all the right reasons!

Black Metallic Baroque Prom Dress £80.00 & Black Zip Front Peep Toe Heels £70.00 (River Island)

Yes, X Factor Ella Henderson wore this dress! So it’s extra special! I actually spotted her wearing it, and was like ‘Hey, look that’s from River Island.’ Ha. Anyway, I love it and could be used for many other special occasions. Add it with these peep toe heels, for a bit more sophistication.

Embellished Jacquard Dress by Rare £49.00 & SOLO Bow Back Court Platforms £65.00 (Topshop)

I love this dress because it is so easy to work. These Bow Back shoes, look so elegant, and all you need to do is add black tights! This dress is also perfect for curvier women, as it brings them out in the best way possible!

Childrenswear: Price & Perfection

By November 20, 2012 Fashion

The other day I was reading the newspaper, when it came to a really interesting article about Childrenswear. It was about how in the 70s childrenswear was just beginning and nobody really thought anything of it, so if you were a child, you would just wear what ever took your parents fancy, but now it’s all about making your child look like the manequin in the shop window. It’s all about the ‘price and perfection’. So, as a child (Teen in 6 Months!), I thought about it, and it is true; these 12 years so far, have changed our parents.

For example, when I was 3 or 4, my mum would probably make me some clothes or just pop out an buy the cutest, but smartest clothes there were, and for a reasonable price. Now, she’ll take me out, and I’ll choose the odd top and maybe a few accessories, and I’ll be fine. But, if she took me down to Harrods and gave me £2,000 to get one dress, I would probably, either faint or tell her she was bonkers. At my age, I never intend on being given anything over £200, or even £100, I would more likely want to grab a bargain outfit down at Primark, and I wouldn’t care about the price! But the thing is, some parents are actually doing this now. The whole, give ya’ kid a grand thing, is actually happening. Now, as you know the celebrity baby boom has hit, with Harper Seven coming into the world, and also celebs like Robbie Williams becoming a father. This has definitely had an impact. People want their kids to look like these million dollar babies, who have the cutest Gucci shoes on, and the perfect blue dress from Chanel. Now, I am sure we would all love to own such labels, but isn’t that the only reason?

(The Top & Leggings are from Gap)

So as you can see, what’s the point in spending that cash, when you can get the same thing, just with a different label on? Now, I know Harper Seven does look extremely cute, but is that just the ‘Beckham’ name playing on us? I don’t know, but that’s the not the whole point of this post…. If you want me to do a cutest baby post, then I am more than happy, but lets just stick to what this one’s all about….!

I think people are just thinking that because the people who can afford to do what ever, means they can too. Yes, of course we all have our dreams to have that one special dress, but is it really worth it, when you know, because it’s so special, you’ll only ever wear it on that one day? Which means, what’s the point in spending $$$ on baby clothes, when they’re going to grow out of them anyway? It’s different when your my age, because, yes your still growing, but your growing at a rate that clothes will last for a year or so, but at that age, the growing rate is rapid!

To be honest, us kids are beginning to be more like mini-mes. Now, as a young girl, you have to have played that game at school which involves picking the Year 3 girls and choosing which one looks more like you, and then play silly games with them? No? Oh, you have? Oh, so you haven’t? Um.. looks like just me then…Yup. It’s like that but with your own parents! More and more designer ranges are bringing out identical versions of dresses etc but at a mini size. Why do I want to look like an identical twin? I don’t! Kids should be who they want to be! This is why I have always dreamt of a store which you can send in your designs, and they’ll become a real thing in the store. (Oi! Don’t you think about stealing that idea now!) That’s why my dream is to become a fashion designer, to save the children of today’s children!
