BlogMas: Toulouse Christmas Market

By December 15, 2012 DIY & Lifestyle

Toulouse Roof Tops (Sorry for bad picture quality!)

Going to Christmas Markets is what my mum loves to do, and to do it in such an old city like Toulouse, was quite an experience. When we took this photo, it reminded me of the scene in Skyfall. Wild cats climbing across the houses, nosing in people’s balconies. Smoke puffing out the chimneys, and the grey clouds making them look like they have a distinct outline. Toulouse is very intresting. When you are in the car, people begging come to your window, and then on the other street you can see a clown walking around. There’s also the football traffic (Today’s match was Toulouse vs Marseille), and then when it gets to night time, it is actually impossible to even drive your car 1 yard because there are so many people. Like other cities, it is quite scary walking round, especially when you hear the recent news of shootings, it does dawn on you, but then you look around, and the sites are amazing.

The first place we went to was a flea/creative market, which had stalls with odd crafty things, and jewellery etc. There was interesting array of lamps which had toy soldiers sprayed black, which personally, I thought was pretty cool. Then there were chairs, and odd bits and bobs, oh, and a mirror for me to take a picture in! Haha…

There are so many old bikes laying around Toulouse, all vintage looking, and I love it! I also loved these china doll earrings, which were quite expensive, but very cute. The other two pictures are just quick snaps, of details of things, including a bag, and an elephant toy.

Then we moved onto side streets and things, which included wine shops, toy shops, and cool decoration shops, which were all extremely busy, and it is very hard to get through to things, when you can hardly understand the language! But, we do love it when we hear a familiar accent!

In France, they seem to love Acrylic bows? I have seen many, in clip form and in ring form… They just love them! The picture on the right is of a quick bit of shopping we got upto, and if you know me, and you want to know what they are, WAIT AND SEE!

We then reached the large market in the Place De Capitole (hopefully spelt correctly!) where we had a nice warm drink, and took a few pictures 😉 Credits to my mum on the right, and me on the left!

Then after realising that it was a bit too busy to look around, we decided to hit the big high street! YAY! Christmas Light time! We passed a few cute dogs as well, and were able to get a picture of this cute puppy! Aww, so cute! I will name it Franco!

If you visit Toulouse, you must visit the Nespresso store! It is great for you coffee lovers! And, if you have a member’s card, you can get a free coffee! A funny thing is though, my brother picked something up, which he thought was a free sample to take home, but in actual fact it was a wet wipe, which didn’t even smell remotely like coffee! Strange…

After Nespresso we visited Lafayette Maison, which is the Lafayette home store, which was really cool! It was filled with loads of cute decorations, like the little monkey, penguin (which butt was a bell…!) and giant macaroons and strawberries! Oh, and a pink elephant!

YAY! I love statue guys! This was a Jesus one so it had a random guy in a suit…. yup! And, a guy carrying a cross. They were amazing! Super duper cool…

TAH DAH! CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!

My favourite part of the holidays! LIGHTS! Yup, we ended our trip with a walk down the lit street! So pretty! Oh, and then we rewarded ourselves we a MaccyDs, and it tastes just the same as in the UK!

I know, WTH?! First there was ordinary leggings, then there was jeggings (a mixture of jeans and leggings), and now, comes MEGGINGS! Yes, men are wearing leggings. This winter has bought a whole new style to menswear, which is wearing leggings underneath shorts. Here’s a picture of what I’m really talking about!

TDP Awards 2012: The Wonder Woman Award

By December 9, 2012 Fashion

I have decided that every year I will do TDP Awards. Including: The Wonder Woman Award, Best Dressed, Best Brand, Best Magazine (Fashion & Beauty), Best Trend and Best YouTube Channel. These will not be official awards, so no prizes will be awarded, just a little congratulations on this blog. So let the awards commence…

(Picture from Elle Magazine)

Yes, the Hunger Games honey is my Wonder Woman of The Year. The reason stems from when my sister picked me up from school, and said ‘Would you like to go and see the new film, The Hunger Games?’, and I have never regretted my decision. I said yes of course, and my new idol is definitely that one person, who I could’ve said no to seeing in one of the biggest films in the past 5 years. As in the first image, I said she has been a brilliant role model for millions. What I mean is, she didn’t go to acting school, she still lives with her parents even though she is earning over $10million a film. She has pretty much just come from a normal girl who gets good grades. She lives in Kentucky still, and she has even said that she would feel weird living a giant mansion. It shows that whatever you come from, you don’t have to change, you can stay who you are, but live your dream. She also totally true, and herself, she hates it when she says something wrong, and she never acts. Except from on screen, obviously! Then I said she was a great fashionista. SHE IS. Look at the pictures from Elle Magazine, she is stunning. That is the only word for it. S. T. U. N. N. I. N. G. Stunning. So, check this space for the next Hunger Games. Or… go watch Silver Linings! I would like too, but I don’t think it’s in France… aww…
