Jennifer Lawrence: Recent Magazine Covers

By January 27, 2013 Fashion

Recently, I have been seeing a lot of covers with the Hunger Games & Silver Linings Playbook darling’s face all over them, but I have to say I don’t really think I’ve been liking them. Most of them are giving her more of a plasticated look, like she’s the doll and everyone can do what they like to her, in a physical and mental way of looking at things. I do like some of them and I have put the good ones in too but, I wanted to show you what I mean…

Picture 1

Jennifer Lawrence for W Magazine 2013

The first example is the most recent one, which I first saw on Facebook, and I love it! I love the style, the idea, the dress, everything. But! Not. The. Hair. Apparently she’s meant to look like a Barbie, but she’s too pretty and beautiful for that! I am also not too keen on the pose, she looks very tense. She does look very innocent and sorry, but I just don’t like the hair!

Jennifer Lawrence for IO Donna (Italian) Magazine March 2012

This is not recent, but I still thought I’d include it. I do love this, she looks AMAZING, but I wouldn’t really think ‘Oh, that’s Jennifer Lawrence’ straight away, she looks too done up, and I think they’re trying to grow her up too fast! I know you may think, but she’s like a Oscar winner, soooo!? She is only about 22, and I know I wouldn’t want to be forced into looking all ‘boobs n’ bum’ (my way of putting it).

Jennifer Lawrence for W Magazine October 2012

I really like the more abstract look of this one, but like I said in the beginning, she looks like a doll! Like, a fake and lifeless doll! I don’t know whether it’s just me, but I just don’t like it! I know what they were going for, but I just don’t think it was executed very well.

Jennifer Lawrence for Glamour April 2012

I like this. I don’t love it, because I think, unless it’s just my eyes, she looks a but chubbier than she is, which isn’t a bad thing, it gives her good curves, but I think the look of her legs in that position, doesn’t giver her the best of looks. I think she looks really youthful and pretty, and I adore the swimsuit/bodysuit but I think parts of it are just wrong.

Jennifer Lawrence for Rolling Stones Magazine April 2012

3 Words: I LOVE IT. Nothing wrong to say with this. It shows her youth, her amazing beauty and her casual style (which she loves according to her Elle interview) and also that she has hair, to die for!

I would love to know what you think about all the pictures above, firstly by entering this poll below, and also leaving a comment!

Celebrity Style Captured: Diane Kruger

By January 27, 2013 Fashion

Once again, I haven’t done one of these posts in a while, so here’s another for you! Also, I have sold out of my Advertising Spaces for February (Yes, I am doing them now!) So, if you ‘re interested in advertising for March, make sure you click the link here, remember there is just one left!

CSCDianaKMadison Dress by Annie Greenabelle £65.00 (Topshop), Pearl Peter Pan Collar £18.00 (ASOS), KNOCK KNOCK Leather Over The Knee Boots £80.00 (ASOS), Horseshoe Across Body Bag £22.00 (ASOS) & White Diamante Encrusted Bracelet Watch £30.00 (River Island).

Doesn’t Diane just work this look so well? She looks like she’s just come out of a movie 😉 Well… you can too! This dress may not be the exact same cut and shape, but the print sure is! The Dogtooth print is great! You can make it look casual, or done up, as it is pretty much the cherry on the top for any outfit this S/S 13. I also love these boots! They are great for winter as they go above the knee, and are also very durable! Finish the look off with a few simple accessories, and don’t forget the Peter Pan Collar! Also, for a more casual and preppy look, add a cute beret 😉

FACT: Some people believe that Beret’s are French, but really they originated from the Romans! Interesting?!

Have you bought any prints like this? Do you like the Monochrome Look? Leave a comment below telling me what you think!

Chanel Couture Make-Up: Get The Look

By January 25, 2013 Beauty, Fashion

On Twitter I saw that somebody had tweeted the Chanel Couture Make-Up and I haven’t done a Make-Up one in a while, so now’s the chance! Here’s how you can create the look… (Image below is from Vogue)

chanelTutorials (Image created via Taaz.com)

chanelTutorialsPRODSoft Touch Shadow Pencil in Aigle Noir £17.00 (NARS), Technakohl Liner in Graphblack £14.00 (MAC), Zoom Lash Mascara in Zoomblack £14.00 (MAC), Jemma Kidd Hi-Shine Silk Touch Lipgloss in Shell £14.00 (Beauty Expert), Bobbi Brown Oil-Free Even Finish Compact Foundation in Warm Beige £31.00 (House of Fraser) Face Touch Up Stick in Albaster £19.00 (Bobbi Brown) & Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Ready Blush in The Aphrodisiac £19.95 (Click Skin Essentials).

As you can see in the first image, Chanel have gone for a jet black full eye shadow look. Adding a bold shade to the eye, allows you to experiment but leaves room for your lips to stay nude. Using this black shadow pencil means you can also use it for a really big chunky line in other uses. Add either a shimmery grey liner or a slightly more grey liner to open up the eyes more. The lips are very nude in this look, and the Jemma Kidd Lipgloss’ are great as they really do feel like silk! For the foundation go flawless and quite light, perhaps a shade or two lighter than usual, and the same on the concealer!

I hope you like this post, and I am sorry that it wasn’t a budget post, but I do love all these brands!

Miss Vogue Launches in May…

By January 25, 2013 Fashion

As a young magazine reader, this is amazing news! Yes, Vogue are launching a magazine for the younger audience. It’s going to be called ‘Miss Vogue’, and it will be released in May. (Image from Vogue)

I am really excited to see what it’s like, but I was thinking, what about Teen Vogue? Will it be for like 19-25 year olds, or will it be for girls who are just younger than a teen? Also will Teen Vogue be left out on the curb? I don’t know, anyway, here’s what Vogue had to say…

“All of us are really excited at the opportunity to create a slightly different Vogue for this readership,” said Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman. “We know how much that they love the magazine and so I wanted to produce something that would have bespoke content for a younger audience.”

I know Teen Vogue is American, but don’t you think their will be some kind of rivalry? I know it’s the same brand, and magazine, but I would find it hard to think that their are now two young magazines under one brand? I am really glad they’ve launched it, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see! *Fingers crossed that it comes to my local supermarket (Which is selling Teen Vogue at the moment!)*

What do you think? Do you think it will be better than Teen Vogue, or perhaps not as good? Are you excited? Leave a comment below to tell me what you think!

2 Outfits & A Voodoo Girl*

By January 24, 2013 Fashion, My Style

photo 1Voodoo Girl is a new clothing brand in which sells unique and fun clothing. Their prices are mid-range, but are really worth it for the quality. All their products are made in Europe and feel amazing! They also, come with a small little gift! They have an online store, but are also on ASOS too…. They do sizes from XS (4/6) to L (14/16).

‘VooDoo Girl’ created and inspired through years of travelling the globe. Katia brought life to her old rags by dying them whilst living on a yacht travelling from port to port all over the world.

The feel of my crop top is amazing! It’s really lightweight, but also very strong and durable material at the same time. The colour is brilliant! It is very bright, but also has that slight acidic wear sort of look. In the summer I will definitely be wearing this, as it is perfect! I think it looks great with the pastel colours too though, and you can layer it in so many ways! Crop tops are sometimes quite hard to work, but I find these too colours make it really simple! Voodoo Girl have some awesome pieces on sale, and I think you guys should check it out! If I could have one thing right now, it would have to be their waistcoat! It looks so nice, and I expect it is very good quality just like this top! Although for some the prices may seem quite high, for the quality they are worth it! I think for a really nice gift (or even treat yourself!) The products are really worth it!

Design #2

By January 23, 2013 Designs, Fashion, My Style

FINALDESIGN2Design #2: This design is based on the Monochrome Trend. I wanted to design something which was simple, but also had a slight bit of difference. The design on the left has a pop of neon which I love! The one on the right is so basic, yet it has the dramatic shoulder ‘pom poms’. I love the Oxblood colour as well, and I think it works well with black and white. If I had to choose the fabrics, the neon would be more of a piping material, and the skirt would either be real leather of PU. The clutch on the left would be suede, and again with the neon piping.

I would be very grateful if you did not take my designs for you own use! I draw them my self (100%) and put them through Photoshop. I hope one day that they will be produced an will have my own label on them.

Please tell me what you think by leaving a comment, or tweet me! Please find all my other designs here > DESIGNS.

Are Fashion Weeks Fading?

By January 23, 2013 Fashion

If you have read or are reading the latest Company Magazine, you would have probably read the article by Kerry Porter about Fashion Weeks and how they’re VIP tickets are getting less and less exclusive, and the fact that we are getting all this free footage of the shows instead of actually living in it all. So, I thought I’d write a post about it!

I actually totally agree, the Fashion Week is losing it’s exclusiveness! We are able to sit in our onesies with a nice hot chocolate watching it now, rather than going out and feeling the bass of the music beat through our bodies. We’re able to even embed the footage into our blogs and get people viewing them through our own sites. Instead of being specially selected or paying for the tickets, we can stay in the luxury of our homes. Surely, us fashionistas want to see the fabrics and colours up close and personal? Surely, we want our own snaps of what we like, and our own real life footage? Don’t we want the special feeling of knowing you’ve been to the real shows? *I hear you say yes* So, why don’t we? (Picture from Pinterest)

The simple answer, is the Internet. As a blogger, it is a big part of my life now, and I couldn’t live without it. Designers and Fashion Week holders want everyone to experience it, but by doing that we’re ruining the fun of getting a surprise. It’s like getting told everything about what you’re getting for your next birthday, until waiting until it actually happens right? We’re able to see it all before the next season starts, instead of the actual people who will be making it into stuff, and people who need to see it. Tom Ford even made his shows exclusive, so not even the press could know it was happening! Wouldn’t that be better? A surprise? Yes, okay, I like doing Trend blog posts, but I could wait!

If I had it my way, I would make it so you always have to apply, and no footage is allowed out of Fashion Week, just pictures and sneak peeks. What do you think? Should Fashion Week be more exclusive? Tell me in a comment, or Tweet me 😉

Blogging Tips & Q&A With Stephanie Dreams…

By January 22, 2013 Beauty, Fashion

Once again I have another fellow blogger answering some questions about blogging and fashion! I hope you enjoy it, and if you want to hear anything from certain people, do let me know! Take it away Stephanie

1.    What inspired you to start your Blog?: My friend started a blog a little while before & just the whole “online diary” really interested me.

2.    Why did you choose fashion?: I didn’t really at the start, it was very much a beauty blog and it still stands with beauty at the moment. I started my outfit post’s a little while after and they’ve just grown and grown. I enjoy reading them on other blogs, and have just felt they’ve improved through the years.

3. What are you top tips on starting a Blog?: Pick a good name that is universal and you will love even when you’re 50, you have to be proud and want to hate your blog. Basic layout’s and an interesting header will get you a good start, and remember to keep your images big!!

4. What are your Blogging Targets for this year?: Just to keep growing Stephanie Dreams, both with my readership and with what I can do with it and the people I work with.

5. Who are your favourite fellow bloggers?: Paige Joanna and Briar Rose are both stunning blogs (and friends) that I met and found in 2012. I love finding new blogs all the time & I think it’s important to read and comment on a lot. Both to get inspiration and also become a team member of the blogging world.

6. What’s was your favourite trend from 2012?: I love the mini bags and also the monochrome trend.

7. Where’s your favourite place to grab a bargain and why?: Primark is always good, but generally I’m not good at bagging a bargain. I think super markets are doing well for their fashion though, George at Asda is my favourite.

8. What’s your favourite piece of clothing, accessory etc that you have ever bought?: I think my “Whole lotta Rosie” headbands from Crown & Glory are. I adore them and think they look amazing.

9. Who is your favourite designer and why?: This is so hard. I’m not “High Fashion” in any way, and I find it hard to relate designers to real life style and clothing. I adore Matthew Willimason for his prints and gorgeous colours though, and I love the See by Chloe range also.

10. What’s your personal style and what do you do to work it?: I really HATE this question, I honestly don’t know what style I have. To describe it is the worst! I like being fun and laid back, I will be wearing tights 90% of the time and love to be creative with accessories.

So you can get a feel for Stephanie’s blog, here are some screenshots…

Picture 1Picture 2Stephanie has over 1,000 Blog Followers, 2,441 Twitter Followers and over 100 Facebook Fans, that means she has over 3,000 Followers combined! I am sure she is going to get much bigger!

Thanks so much Steph! Please feel free to leave a comment on which bloggers you would like to see here! Also, if you leave a question, I will add them to the questions list! Or Tweet me!
