ASOS Saved Items Wishlist #2

By July 8, 2014 Wishlist

Hello there young chum! Today I have my second ASOS Saved Items wishlist! Sorry there was a delay with this post but I was very busy, so I’ve thrown in another 2 items for you! You lucky duckies! (What was in my list last time? See here.)

What’s in your ASOS Saved Items wishlist currently? Let me know in the comments!

asos saved items wishlist PINEAPPLE BAG // NIKE BAG

Pineapple Bag: I’m having a bit of a fruit ‘thing’ at the moment. I have a lemon clutch, some fruity false nails, and I now really want this bag! It’s so darn cute! I’m stopping myself from buyin  – SOLD OUT! Booo! I waited and then… it’s gone! That’s the trouble with pre-writing posts….

Nike Bag: Not sure why I like this, but I do! I think it’s just the colour and the ditsy print. I think drawstring bags are a bit of a love it or hate it piece, but it’s in my Saved Items so it has to be shared! What do you think? Yay or nay?

asos saved items wishlist NAIL DECALS // NIKE TRAINERS

Nail Decals: I’m also having a bit of a fast food ‘thing’, seeing as I have fast food socks and a french fries necklace… so obviously I need these too! They’re adorable though, right? Again, if these go to like £3.00, they will be mine. They will totally complete the awesome outfit I have in my head… think nautical stripes, denim and fast food… yum burgerrrr… speaking of burgers, have you seen Carrie from WishWishWish’s engagement ring box?! SO. CUTE. Congrats Carrie!

Nike Trainers: Okay, I basically now need £100 to get these in my life. They are AMAZING. My House of Holland snapback would be absolutely perfect with these. The colours are 100% identical and just ooooh, purrrrty. Let’s just all hope these also go down in price by like… 70%…?!

asos saved items wishlist PINEAPPLE SKIRT // SWEET SOCKS

Pineapple Skirt: I told you I was having a fruit ‘thing’! Look at this skirt though, it’s awesome 😀 I love the pink too, and the length and the style… I am so tempted…. maybe… maybe I shall purchase. I’m thinking it would look nice with a little crop top and a nice baggy cover up, or perhaps a kimono… oh yeah, I’m still on the hunt for a kimono! I can’t find any for under £15… 🙁 Booo!

Sweet Socks: These are cute, heh? Sweets all in pastel colours, on socks! The only problem is I have no shoes which would match that well as my black jelly sandals are getting too small! Darn you feet for deciding to grow even bigger… soon I’ll be size 7 and even some of Mama Posh’s shoes won’t fit me! Gahhh!

asos saved items wishlist NECKLACE // SEQUIN BAG

Necklace: I love dainty necklaces, and this one is even more awesome than most because 1. It’s super duper dirt cheap and 2. It’s LONG. How I have wanted a long necklace for so long (haaa…. haaaa), and finally I have found one! I just think wearing it with nice dresses would add a sort of bohemian, summery vibe. I won’t be buying it though because I just spent a little bit (more than usual) on the Candy Glitter Dreams Necklace from ILoveCrafty… oops!

Sequin Bag: Another drawstring… oops! The only reason this is here is because it’s similar to the Ashish bags… sort of. I feel like this somehow looks more sporty than the Nike one, so I don’t think I will actually be buying it… I just thought the sparkles were cool.

asos saved items wishlist MESH COVER-UP // FRUIT PRINT WATCH

Cover-Up: The first post had a cover-up, and so does the 2nd! I prefer this one though as I could probably work it as a normal dress (obviously with stuff underneath). I like the pastel colour too, and I’m a big fan of texture so it’s a win win… other than the £22 price tag which I don’t think I could stretch too just for this… would you?

Fruit Print Watch: Another fruit related item, Tolly, stop! I don’t really wear watches so again, this will probably sit in my Saved Items for no reason, but I love the colours and the sort of digital fruit print. It’s been in the sale twice now… it’s teasing me. Maybe I’ll treat myself to it when it’s really discounted… like most of these items really *empties pockets and nothing falls out*

Floral & Random Hair Crown Collection + Video

By July 4, 2014 My Style

If you haven’t been following this blog for very long, or maybe you just haven’t been paying attention (rude… jokes!), then you may not know that I am a floral (and random) hair crown, addict. I buy and make way too many… I probably have a fairly small ‘hair crown collection compared to some, but it’s slowly getting bigger month by month… so today I’m here to show you every one I own…

Do you have any floral crowns? Let me know in the comments!
floral and random hair crown collection beauxoxo accessories diy asos claire'sfloral and random hair crown collection beauxoxo accessories diy asos claire's…maybe that’s a lie because I did receive 2 new ones in the post recently (thank you Claire’s!), but this is the majority. I even made a short and snazzy video (this features all of my collection) to go along with them, aww! I have stretchy, alice band, DIY and pom pom ones so it really is a huge variety! I love them all though, I especially loves the ones I make myself because they are 100% unique to me 🙂 I just think hair accessories can really complete an outfit, especially if it is fairly simple. Plus… on hot days when you’re hair isn’t exactly ‘clean’ they can be the best distraction!

FYI, both the DIY ones are made with false flowers, a hot glue gun and a hair band! So simple to do, it’s just common sense 🙂

floral and random hair crown collection beauxoxo accessories diy asos claire'sDIY FLORAL CROWN – £2 – FLOWERS (CHARITY SHOP) & ALICE BAND (GIFI)

This is one of my most recent ones to my collection, and it’s made by moi! I really like it because the flowers are super oversized, and make a pretty cool statement! I added in some greenery I had left over from another floral crown (scroll down…) and I love it! I feel like it is very Frida Khalo-esque and goes with a lot more than you would expect, plus for £2, you can’t really go wrong!

floral and random hair crown collection beauxoxo accessories diy asos claire'sPOM POM HEADBAND – £3.00 – ASOS

I saw this on ASOS ages and ages ago, it went from £10 to about £8, and then when it finally reached £3 very recently, I decided it was about time it became mine! It’s actually a lot smaller than I had anticipated, but I love it nonetheless. The pom poms are so cute and fluffy and actually look quite retro, so I’m excited to style it up! You could easily DIY this one, but because it was on the site for so long, the price was justifiable in the end!

Claire’s surprised me with a package a while back and inside it was this! I never thought I would like a crown like this because it has a wire band which I tend to stay clear of, but I’m coming around to the idea! I have to say it’s a little awkward to wear, but the colour looks really nice and it should be good for all year round, which is a plus! I think this would look awesome on blonde hair… what do you think?

floral and random hair crown collection beauxoxo accessories diy asos claire'sDIY FLORAL CROWN – FLOWERS (MARKET) & HAIR BAND (..STOLEN FROM MAMA POSH…)

Another DIY, and probably my most favourite of my collection, is this beauty! I just adore the way it looks! I found the flowers at a market and I have been trying to hunt down the same guy again, but no luck! I think buying false flowers online can be way more expensive, so if you can find a local florist who sells them, then you should definitely get them from there! Also, make sure you get some greenery too, it adds a more realistic touch rather than just a bunch of flowers all in the same colour, I think that’s why this is my favourite!

I hope you liked this post and the pictures… it was so funny doing them haha! Sorry if I don’t update my blog lots and lots over the next few weeks, it’s holiday time now with our family so obviously I’m spending time with them! Thanks so much guys! 🙂

My Style: Wearing Pink On A Wednesday*

By July 2, 2014 My Style

Sorry for the very un-original title of this My Style post, but it’s Wednesday and I’m wearing pink so, it was kind of obligatory… duh. I like this outfit and I hope you do too 🙂 Sorry about the weird blue glow… darn you white balance!  Make sure to leave a comment telling me how you would wear pink on a Wednesday!

pink 12my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirtspink 1my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirtsWhat I Wore: No Photos Please T-Shirt £14.99 (Lush T-Shirts)*, Pink Dress (Marks & Spencer), Denim Shorts (Jumble Sale), Barbie Socks £2.50 (Primark), Jelly Shoes (Supermarket) & Floral Ear Headband £3.50 (River Island at ASOS)

I never knew I was a pink kinda’ person, but turns out, I really am. I had to wear my pink taffeta dress because I own no pink skirts… very tempted to make it into a skirt actually, seeing as it’s about 7 years old – no. joke. I love the contrast of the pastel and bright pink though, and the slogan top makes such an awesome statement. Plus, it’s kinda’ ironic, seeing as I’m a fashion blogger and all… lol.  What d’ya think? Too much pink, or just right? I’m thinking the latter, but not sure the French around here would agree.. I changed the dress for some trousers when I went out *hides behind curtains*

my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirts my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirts my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirtsWhen I was in the UK recently, I tried on this super cute headband in River Island, knowing that it was also on ASOS, so when I saw it for half the price in the ASOS sale, I bought it immediately. It’s adorable! I thought I would prefer the multi-coloured one, but I’m so glad I picked the pink! I also love the gold band… it makes it look a lot more expensive than it was! It’s also a great headband which can be worn with a topknot as it’s just small enough, which is very handy in these warmer months! Oh and FYI, the pool is up and running, and most days I take a dip! Fun, fun, fun!

my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirts my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirtsAs I mentioned earlier, this dress is kinda’ on the small side which means my denim shorts have to be worn underneath! I’m a big fan of denim at the moment, and these are again… adorable! I love the little trim and how it pokes out underneath the skirt… cute-ness! Speaking of denim… I really want a denim/acid-wash style drop arm vest with a high neck… anyone know of where to get one? Thanks if you do suggest anywhere!

my style pink on wednesday mean girls outfit lush t-shirtsAnd finally… shoes! I wore my new Barbie socks (featured in my new haul, watch it here!with my jelly shoes, and I quite like the combo! Due to Primark’s bad packaging, when I pulled the label off the socks, it pulled a thread with it meaning there is now a hole on the bottom. Not very nice! I like them nonetheless though, and it just adds that little bit more pink to the outfit!

I shall speak to you soon! I have some exciting things in the pipeline, which I should be able to tell you about soon! The only hint I can give is that it will be the 2nd time in which one of my goals for 2014 will be coming true! Eeep! 🙂

Blogging: Time, Effort & Energy

By June 29, 2014 DIY & Lifestyle

This post was going to be about a random piece of banana fibre I found (see here), but I changed my mind and it’s now about blogging. I’ve seen a lot of these posts lately, and I just want to get my words out there. I’m not sure how this will go, but I guess we’ll see!

blogging time effort energy(Thinking of selling personalised downloads of this? Comment if you like the idea!)

I sometimes say that blogging really isn’t anything special, and I don’t really understand when people say ‘You’re an inspiration’, but when my parents said to me ‘You don’t really know how much work you put into it [my blog]’, it kind of clicked. On top of doing home work, spending time with my family, and trying to just have me time; I’m on my Twitter, emails, Facebook and Instagram promoting myself, brands and anything random to please you, the readers. I feel like other bloggers try and hide the fact by saying ‘I only do it because I love it’, and some of us do, but at the same time, we’re writing and tweeting because people enjoy it. I know it might sound like that isn’t much to you ‘non-bloggers’, but actually when you add it all up, it really is.

Lily Melrose, or LLYMLRS, wrote a really short and sweet blog post about why you shouldn’t give up blogging, and her thoughts were exactly the same as mine are now. Basically, if you don’t put cake mixture in the oven, you won’t get a cake in the end… or if you don’t put the effort, time and energy in, you won’t get all the fun stuff… I prefer the cake version.. yummm cake! I’m not saying that if you’re not doing ‘well’ (well = your own definition of course), that you’re not putting enough effort in, but it might mean that you haven’t been doing it for that long, or maybe you’re setting your standards too high, or putting too many eggs over flour in your mixture (eggs/flour = different content).

These ingredients can mean whatever you want them to mean personally, so I can’t tell you the perfect quantities (#ImSoGoodAtTheseCakePuns), but when you look at these so-say ‘big bloggers’, you have to understand that they whisked and mixed, and put their cake mixture into the oven to get where they are today. Just because their cake is golden and gooey (…just give me my medal now…), doesn’t mean they didn’t think of giving up.

Your goals are your own. Whether you want blogging to take you to a full time job, or you just want to reach 100 followers within 6 months, it will take time and effort. Set mini goals along the way, and slowly (or quickly, depending on how much time you put in), you will reach them. Hey, one of my goals this year was to do a product collab, and I have done it (see here)!, which means it is possible. A cake takes patience, and so does a blog…

London Collections: Men SS15 Review

By June 27, 2014 Fashion

I know I’m a girl, and I expect most of my audience is mainly female (guys are welcome too!), but sometimes I like to touch on menswear, and today is one of those days! I never really am that interested in the London Collections: Men but I thought I’d have a look, and surprisingly enough the collections weren’t half bad! Take a look… (Images via Vogue)

Which is your favourite collection? Have a look through and leave a comment!
Katie Eary London Collections: Men SS15 ReviewKatie Eary: Interesting… 60s vibes, bright colours, prints, denim… I’m not 100% sure. In my personal opinion I think it reminds me of Holly Fulton’s collections…? Maybe… haha! I do like the jackets and mixed denim blouses, but I think it’s the scarves and high necks which just don’t sell it to me. What do you think? To me it’s just a bit odd and one of those collections which I think only real in-depth fashion-y people would understand… so maybe one day I will 😉 Rating: 6/10

Kit Neal London Collections: Men SS15 ReviewKit Neale: Ahh, Kit. I love him. This collection is just perfect. I know not all guys would be able to rock the pieces, but I would hope that my future husband would at least attempt something like this. I love the cactus print rain-coat short combo, and the pastel printed trousers. It’s glorious! Plus, Kit’s collaborated with Tatty Devine to create the ‘Little Monsters’, which I think are awesome. I would quite like one please! Cacti though… yup, I love cacti… I could go on and on about the cacti used in this collection, so I should probably stop here. Rating: 11/10 (bonus point)

Markus Lupfer London Collections: Men SS15 ReviewMarkus Lupfer: Ahh what a beautiful mix. I love the prints, the structure, the simplicity and the camo… it’s a beauty. Definitely a collection most young guys could work (I think anyway)… I’d be happy to see my future husband (lol… whoever he is, he’s going to have to be very daring in his sense of style… lol) wearing it anyway! It has the Christopher Kane vibe too which I like! I’m a huge fan of white and blue together and this is an exquisite way to use it! Oui oui, tres bien! Rating: 100/10 (Just because it’s probably more wearable than Kit Neal…)

MOSCHINO London Collections: Men SS15 Review 1 MOSCHINO London Collections: Men SS15 Review 2Moschino: Hmm… okay… yup I’m very confused. I can’t quite make out what this is all about… it’s almost like a pic n’ mix of global styles. I’m seeing farmers, prisoners and security guards, horse riders, swimmers, and 90s vibes… anyone else on the same page?! I do like the smiley faces, and the colourful prints but I just don’t. get. it. Rating: 6.5/10

Sankuanz Presented by GQ China London Collections: Men SS15 ReviewSankuanz Presented by GQ China: I think there is something very interesting here. It’s simple, yet it’s… unique. The doodles and the over-sized props and anime eyes all tie in… and I’m not sure how! It just works. Some designers are magical, and this is definitely one of them. I love the printed shorts too, I think they are velvet(?!), and they look awesome. I’d be happy to own a pair even if I am a ‘gal’. Plus, a top with a cat on… come on.. that makes it a winner. Rating: 8.5/10

SIBLING London Collections: Men SS15 ReviewSibling: I would say this is like a caveman rock band with some weird red bauble slap bang in the middle. A very odd combination. I would say the only thing I really like is the shoes and the denim. The bone necklaces remind me of a school play we did when I was about 5… fun times… fun. times. I feel like menswear designers always go a bit more crazy… are Sibling raising money for Comic Relief with that giant bauble? I’m serious… like what is that?! Rating: 5/10 (not too keen on the caveman/Flintstones vibes…)

I’m actually doing some pretty cool things behind the scenes which I should be able to tell you about soon! It’s cray-cray. Speak soon <3 I love you dearly, I promise.

ASOS Personal Stylist 2014 Review

By June 24, 2014 Fashion

When I knew that ASOS were updating their ASOS Personal Stylist service, I knew I had to do another review. I trialled their first version back in 2012… it wasn’t the best of posts, but it actually seemed quite popular. I was intrigued to know what it was all about this year, so here you go! I promise this isn’t sponsored… although I wish it was… *cough* 😉

ASOS STYLISTS – OPEN FROM 3-8PM SUNDAY TO FRIDAY & SATURDAY 12-4PM – UK ONLY

asos personal stylist review 2014 jose asos Firstly, you have to fill in a little form so your stylist knows exactly what you want. Previously you just popped in your name, but now they suggest that you pop in exactly what you want. I said ‘I want some ideas of how to layer tulle… and I also want to find some Ashish style sparkles.’ This was just for a taster, but I did genuinely want to know what was available.

asos personal stylist review 2014 jose asos asos personal stylist review 2014 jose asos You get to chose who you want to talk to, it tells you which stylists are available or which ones you have to queue for (I think one of the longest waits was 27 minutes! What?!)… I think I took too long deciding because ‘Joseh’ or ‘Jose’, popped up! At first I was a bit weirded out because on the previous one they just got straight to the point, but I guess it’s in the name, this is ‘personal’. The widget is clear and easy to read with the nice colours… along the same lines as messaging on an iPhone.

asos personal stylist review 2014 jose asos I was asked questions about my style, size and shape which helped ‘Joseh’ out. I explained that I wanted to know what sort of thing I could wear underneath a sheer tulle midi skirt (see here), and that my budget was up to about £30. I was introduced to the ‘Style Board’ which is a bit like a ‘live’ pinning service for you and your stylist.

asos personal stylist review 2014 jose asos The ‘Style Board’ opens in a new window and you can add images from Google, your computer, or from the ASOS site. I added a picture of my main gal’ Susie Lau, and a snap of the tulle skirt I was talking about. It was a lot easier adding my own image because ‘Joseh’ could see exactly what I wanted and what I meant. It’s surprisingly easy to use, and has that fun part to it… seeing new images being added by somebody in another place… the small things!

asos personal stylist review 2014 jose asos One of the best parts is that it tells you what your stylist is doing, in the last version you just knew when they were typing, but with this it tells you exactly what they are doing. Like I said, it really is quite personal, but once you get used to it, it’s actually quite interesting. Also, the ‘Style Board’ gives you something to do whilst you wait… it really is quite the improvement.

asos personal stylist review 2014 jose asos asos personal stylist review 2014 jose asos Some of the features of the ‘Style Board’ included being able to save, and add products to your bag in which your stylist had chosen, as well as refine your searches so it’s easier to find, definitely a time saver! I ended up saving 2 things in my saved list and they went straight into it, no hassle at all!

asos personal stylist review 2014 jose asos If you don’t like something there is also a hide function which means your stylist knows what not to look for. It’s helpful to get to a shortlist of things you really genuinely love. The whole layout of the page is great and I love the fact that the stylist says with you the whole time. No checking back to other windows, I hate that!

asos personal stylist review 2014 jose asos Improvements: I love the fact there is a ‘Style Board’ now… it makes it a lot easier to save items and keeps everything under one roof. The layout and interface is a lot nicer and keeping track of what your stylist is doing is a great help.

Cons: I would say it makes it a bit more of a lengthier process than the last version.. before I feel like you could just ask for one item you were looking for, where as here it’s more for ‘looks’ or a ‘bunch of things’. My whole session took 45 minutes (Yup!), I definitely feel like it would be something you’d only use if you are really struggling with something.

Stylist Feedback: ‘Joseh’ or ‘Jose’ was really helpful and well mannered. He was patient and seemed genuinely interested what I was looking for. He found some great pieces although they weren’t 100% what I was looking for. I wouldn’t say he necessarily sold anything to me, but then again I guess he didn’t really know what I suited etc.

Overall: I would say it has improved, but the fact that I felt like I had to be creating a look rather than just quickly asking if they did X or Y, made me feel like I should just leave  it for special occasions, although the stylist seemed like he should be able to help with just any 1 product. I’m interested in trying out the other stylists though, I already feel like 2 of them have my type of style, and they have been followed on Twitter!

Would I recommend the service? Hmm… yes if you have the time. I think if you’re looking for an outfit for a special occasion this will be absolutely perfect, plus the ‘Style Board’ is quite fun 🙂 Rating: 8/10

Have you tried out the new service yet? Want to see what the difference is? Check out the last review here. Leave a comment if you like!

My Style: Fangirling BANKSY in Neon*

By June 21, 2014 My Style

It’s another My Style post! No wonder as they are probably my favourite to post as I get to edit the pictures nicely and all that jazz! A lot of time recently, I go to my wardrobe and say ‘What would Susie wear?’… Susie being fellow blogger, Susie Lau/Bubble, and I definitely feel like this is her kind of outfit… toned down a bit! I saw these (there are two… one white, one green) petticoats in Oxfam… just poking out like, ‘Take me home… take me home!’, and that’s exactly what I did. For me £7.99 is quite a lot for a charity shop, but I have no regrets. I love the way they look fun, but the length gives them that ‘chic’ edge to them, and anything tulle makes me happy. My bargain H&M skirt I got in October is perfect for how sheer it is too… aww I just love this outfit! Oh wait, hang-on, did I mention I did these pictures in front of a Banksy?! Yeah, just casual… 😀

It’s actually really big, and I love the fact it’s in an open space so you always notice it. I really would love to know how much the house it is on is worth… or how many times people have posed in the phone box! Me and Papa Posh were taking these pictures and we are pretty sure we made it a trend… lots of people came over and did the same thing… well except without the outfit detail shots in the mix!

It doesn’t feel too big just to have sunglasses and a lip balm in (yup…), so it’s honestly the best bag ever. I’ve already got it grubby… it’s definitely going to be my essential this summer! On top of that, how cute does it look!

Teen Blogging in Blogosphere Magazine Issue 4

By June 18, 2014 DIY & Lifestyle, My Style

Howdy! I’m back again, with a pretty exciting post! You may or may not know that I recently wrote an article on teen blogging for the blogging magazine (that’s a whole lot of blogging), Blogosphere Magazine in their latest Issue #4! I thought I would give you the low down because if I do say so myself, it’s a pretty cool issue 🙂 Just so you know, the Company Blog Awards results are in and unfortunately there was nothing for me! 3rd time lucky for 2015? I hope so! Thanks so much if you voted/nominated though, it means a lot!

blogosphere magazine issue 4 louis cole teen blogging blogosphere magazine issue 4 louis cole teen bloggingBLOGOSPHERE ISSUE 4* – E-VERSION £3 – PRINTED VERSION £4 // DINOSAUR NOTEBOOK*

Blogosphere is a magazine written for bloggers and by bloggers. From photography to *cough* teen blogging, each issue covers everything you might want to know whether you are a reader or a writer. Don’t forget every issue has an awesome cover star and interview, Issue 4 is with Louis Cole, with past issues being covered by Essie Button and Fleur De Force‘s faces, so you could say it’s a pretty high profile publication. They allow bloggers to submit pitches, and mine was one of the few to be accepted! Woop!

Cover Interview (p23) – I never used to really ‘get’ Louis Cole, but after reading this interview and watching a few more of his vlogs, I finally do. He’s so down to earth and generally lovely and doesn’t come across as ‘fake’ as some other vloggers. If you want to know more about how he lives his adventure, I would definitely recommend reading this!

Photography (p63) – I don’t follow enough photography bloggers seeing as I love snapping away, and it is so nicely put together! A short piece, but is lovely to flick through!

blogosphere magazine issue 4 louis cole teen bloggingRise of the Teen Blogger (p55) – Da-dah! The article which was written by yours truly! Pretty snazzy, huh? I decided people need to know the ins and outs of what us young bloggers get up to, and I thought well, why not share it in a magazine? It’s a 3 page article (cray cray), where I discuss what I’ve achieved so far, the pros and the cons, as well as 4 of my favourite fellow teen bloggers. It’s accompanied by some of Blogosphere’s very own illustrations also! Want a bit of a cheeky snippet?

”Blogging, like anything, doesn’t really bring much for a while, unless you know somebody who can get your name under somebody’s nose. It wasn’t until I was about seven months in that I decided to pluck up the courage to send an email to a brand. I got a reply, and, within the following two weeks, an outfit post on my father’s iPhone was published.’

It was really fun to write and finally see it all on high quality paper, with my picture on the contents page. Essie Button (previous cover star like I mentioned) said in one of her vlogs that she was reading the issue… I squealed inside of the thought that she may have read my thoughts… wahhh! Make sure you pick up your own copy here and tweet me your thoughts @TollyDollyPosh 😀

I hope you didn’t miss me too much 😉 Shall we get on to the post now? Yeah! It’s just a quick one but I hope you like it nonetheless… I found out about Coca-Cola’s new idea to stop the waste of their bottles, and I suddenly had a light-bulb moment! Why not think of 3 easy ideas which can be made with house hold items… especially bottle types?! Genius… hehe (Images via Pinterest & Coca-Cola)

The whole idea, like I said, is to reduce the waste of Coca-Cola bottles. So they’ve come up with a scheme (only in available in Vietnam currently, I believe!) to give out packs of bottle tops with different uses. From spray bottles, pens, sharpeners, to toys, and even lights! I think it’s such a cool idea! I want one… I would 100% pay my very own money for a pack. Would you?! 🙂

My first idea is so simple. Just pop some bleach (or paint) in to an old spray bottle, and spritz at your shorts, top or shoes, and then just add on some details for that whole ‘galaxy’ look. I’ve never been the biggest fan, but I think if you put your own twist on it, you could create something really cool! My favourite version of this is the bleached jumper!

This is probably my favourite idea! Take an empty pepper/salt shaker (I mean, you could do it full if you really wanted that kind of vibe…), fill it up with glitter/sequins, and then glue all over your desired shoes, and sprinkllleeeee! All you have to do after is just touch up any bare patches, but if you get a good glue, this should be really easy and fun to achieve! I think turquoise glitter looks awesome!

This brings back my Carrie Diaries memories *sobs that it has been cancelled*…. and also ART lessons! Fill up an old ketchup bottle (or a few), with coloured paint, and splatter it all over your item of choice! I would recommend putting a small amount in the bottle, which will help it ‘squirt’ rather than just squeeze, to create the splattered effect. Or do it with a fine paint brush to do the Carrie Bradshaw bag… I still haven’t shown you mine! You guys must remind me 😉

My Style: Getting Ready for The New Look Prom*

By June 7, 2014 My Style

Hello! Yes, I am still very much alive. I’ve been super busy this week and am having to cram taking blog pictures into one (extremely beautiful, hot and sunny) day before I’m back off home to the UK again! I got asked a while back by New Look if I wanted to style some pieces from their new New Look Prom range as part of their new campaign, so obviously… I said yes! By the way… I did an article on teen blogging for Issue 4 of Blogosphere Magazine if you want to take a look… 😉

Beauty // What I Wore: Telescopic Mascara (L’Oreal), Silver Eyeliner (Rimmel Scandal-Eyes), Lipgloss in Rosy Dawn (Burt’s Bees)*, Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom (Burt’s Bees)*, Perfume (Britney Spears), Lemon Cuticle Butter (Burt’s Bees)*, Snow Me White Nail Polish (Sinful Colours) & A Roll In The Hague Nail Polish (OPI)

I don’t wear a lot of make-up… I skip any sort of foundation or BB cream, I just go with a tiny bit of mascara and something on my lips… I received some lovely bits from Burt’s Bees, and have been testing out their new lip colour range. The tinted lip balm is like melted butter on your lips… it’s so silky and soft! The lip gloss is pretty darn good too! The packaging is lovely and it isn’t sticky! A win win really 🙂 The colour of both products are so nude, but give off a really girly and simple look! Love, love, love!

For my nails I went with a white Sinful Colours polish and it only cost me £1.99! It stays for ages and doesn’t chip that much like other polishes. The colour is very opaque and for the price, I definitely recommend it! I went for orange on my toes and I think it looks very summery!

Fashion // What I Wore: Printed Dress (Primark), Pastel Petticoat Tutu (M&S), Embellished Mesh Shell Top (Jumble Sale), Clear Orange Clutch £9.99 (New Look)* &  White Strap Peeptoe Heels £19.99 (New Look)*

When I received my gorgeous accessories from New Look I felt like Olivia Purvis (she’s gorgeous). I have never owned such a grown-up pair of heels and these are gorgeous! They’re actually surprisingly comfortable (…until I attempt wearing them for a long period of time…), and look so sophisticated. Let’s not get started on the clutch… it’s soooo funk-ay! I love how it’s clear yet it still has the section to hide things away… super practical if you ask me! I knew straight away what I had to pair them with and of course my classic Primark dress made an appearance!

Too make the dress a little bit more ‘prom like’, I added on top my bargain mesh shell top and my M&S pastel tutu for va-va-voom underneath the skirt of the dress. The colours all match really nicely and makes the outfit more laid-back and fun for such an occasion. I was also sent a lovely embellished belt which is sooo pretty, it just didn’t fit in with this outfit perfectly. You can have a look at here if you like!

What do you think when you think of a Prom outfit? I just think my style! I love colour and embellishments just make it even more fun. This outfit is also very practical as you can move and swish all you like. Get on that dance floor baby! Ooh, we must mention my hair! I decided to curl it, but last night I plaited it and it just made it a ton easier to do! I love messy beachy waves, it suits me the best! I haven’t curled my hair in ages… it takes forever and I’m never usually happy with it, but this result was quite satisfactory! Hooray! Also… do you like the way I have edited these pictures? I found a tutorial about using gradients with curves and I like it! Oui or non?

I am very self-conscious about my feet… without the wonder’s of Photoshop they would look horrid… trust me… but some how this nail polish and shoe combo cheers them up a bit! They look more lady like and not so ‘ew’ from winter, which is a win. The strap on the toes distracts them and my feet actually look presentable… sort of.. just take away the fact they look wonky… yup okay my feet are weird and I can’t hide the fact.

So that’s what I would wear to prom if I were going! What would you wear? Make sure you let me know in the comments! As I mentioned at the beginning, I’m away this coming week so please don’t expect a post for a while… sorry! I will be back, I promise 🙂 See you soon girls and guys!

(I was not paid to write this post. New Look offered me a few pieces as one of their favourite bloggers. Read my full PR disclaimer here!)
