Sharing the Blogger Love + GIVE-AWAY*

By August 21, 2014 DIY & Lifestyle

Greetings (erm… K), today I have a slightly different post for you! ‘Hmm what could it be?’ I hear you say! Well, I’m going to be sharing a few of my favourite blogs with you in the form of the (slightly edition version…) ‘Blogger Love Tag‘, as well as throwing on a give-away at the end! How on earth will I tie in bloggers with a give-away? You shall have to see young one.

blogger love tag and give-away stylefruits

What was the first blog you ever came across?
I actually cannot remember… I never really used to read that many blogs before I started and if I did they can’t have been that good otherwise I would remember *giggles*

Favourite fashion blog reads?
LLYMLRS – In the past year or so I would say Lily has been on the top of her game. Her style is not exactly ‘me’, but I find what she wears really inspiring. Plus her content is always lovely, especially her gorgeous photography!

Cocorrina – Techinally not just a fashion blog but either way her blog is fabby-dabby-dosie. I adore her photography and imagery, it is divine. Definitely a huge inspiration for me and my style.

Fashion Rhapsody – I found Rose’s blog when we both shortlisted in the Company Style Blogger Awards this year and I love it! Her posts are simple but her OOTDs are totally up my street. Some pieces of her wardrobe are to die for.

What is your favourite way to read blogs?
I use BlogLovin’ all day, ‘ery day. It’s easy to use and you can even sort blogs in to lists. I give my favourite posts a nice little heart, and mark all the posts as read when I’m finished. It’s a lovely way to spend you mornings! You can follow me on BL’ here FYI!

Which blog has the best design/look in your opinion?
I think everyone will probably agree and this one has to go to Carrie (from WishWishWish). Her blog is stunning and portrays her personality from header to footer. I wish I had the £££ to get my site done all swish and snazzy like hers… *sighs* One day, one day!

So… the give-away! I was recently featured in the Stylefruits Brilliantly British: Fashion Bloggers 2014 blogger trump cards! (That’s a mouthful!) It’s basically like a pack of ‘Top Trumps’ but all about bloggers! I’ve already played it with my family and it was a good laugh! The stats are really random from daily cups of tea to how many umbrellas each blogger owns, but it’s also a really cool way to get to know some bloggers you haven’t heard of before. I’m going to be giving away 2 packs of exclusively printed cards! How cool?! To win a pack and play a game which involves ma’ face, just enter below! You have 1 week to do so, T&Cs are also below. If you don’t win, click here to download your own pack! Good luck! 😀

(As part of the Stylefruits Brilliantly British: Fashion Bloggers 2014 pack, I was kindly sent some cards to give-away! I was not paid to write this post, for more information, read my full PR disclaimer here.)

My Life, My Style: French Exploration

By August 18, 2014 DIY & Lifestyle, My Style

Well hello’ there ladies and gents. I decided it was time I did a bit more than just an outfit post and took some lifestyle pictures too… so do excuse the rather cheesy use of a comma in this post title… it sounds like some sort of bad ITV2 reality show! Anyway, lets get on with this… oh and wish Papa Posh a belated Happy Birthday seeing as these pictures were taken on that day!

The first place we visited was a place called Auch. We’d been there before but only in the winter so it was so weird to see it with real, actual, living people wondering around. There’s a massive cathedral, and so many tiny little streets to wonder round. The thing about France is that you pass so many random, freaky things every time, it makes it a real adventure!

Coming out of Auch we stumbled across this huge Bric-o-Brac center… full. of. junk. It would be the sort of place to go to if you wanted a really bohemian, mix match house full of random bits and bobs. I got a bit excited when I saw the clothes though, unfortunately there were no awesome bargains (darn it!), but it was fun to look around. Mama Posh and I jokingly decided which of the old arm chairs we would pick if we had to… I decided that I would go for the mustard ones, and perhaps the paisley one too. I don’t know, there’s something kind of cool about them?!

my style asos footlocker converse diy floral crown

We then found another weird place which was basically a ‘brocante’ fair (brocante basically means junk or odds and ends, just with a few more antique pieces thrown in), it had one bit which was a church full of really expensive pieces, really beautiful. I found this stunning mustard post box too… I must have a thing for mustard at the moment, it’s so pretty! To top it all off I had a Lipton Ice Tea after. It’s probably my favourite drink at the moment, it’s so refreshing! What’s yours?! Tell me in the comments… maybe I’ll discover something new to sip on!

What I Wore: Stripey Top (Saint James), Denim Camo Skirt (ASOS), Silver Belt (Unknown), Sunglasses (Topshop), Sunflower Floral Crown (DIY) & Leopard Converse Hi-Tops (Footlocker)

So let’s get down to business… the outfit kinda’ business! I know this outfit is kind of similar to my last outfit but who cares… we were travelling quite a bit and clothes are meant to be worn more than once, non? This outfit is pretty simple, a little french if you want to say that, with nautical stripes and a denim skirt! I haven’t worn this skirt in forever, and it’s about time I did seeing as it’s getting on the short side now. I’m not sure what else to say about this outfit… it’s kind of self explanatory in my opinion 🙂

my style asos footlocker converse diy floral crown

my style asos footlocker converse diy floral crown

But on second thoughts there is always time to explain the details! Let’s talk about my new floral crown for example! I picked up some more false flowers from a jumble sale for about three euros fifty after some haggling, but my brother says the white peonies look like onions and now I’m self conscious that they do. Do they?! If they do, let’s just comfort my little soul and say the sunflowers definitely look like sunflowers! It’s my first DIY elastic floral crown and after 2 burnt fingers I’d definitely say I’ll stick to alice band ones…! Another cheeky OOTD with my Converse. I do love them, very very much.

Well that’s it folks. I’ll leave you with this picture where I look really disheveled from sitting in the car most of the day. I’m also half smiling due to the fact people were walking past and I was trying to take a nice picture without looking really stupidly vain… ah well, c’est la vie! If you do like this kind of post, do let me know in the comments and I shall try and do some more when I can. Speak soooooon!

Is It Time To Say R.I.P To Magazines?

By August 15, 2014 Fashion

You may or may not have seen on Twitter that sadly my favourite magazine has announced it’s leaving the real world for the dark side… aka, the Internet. The matte papered, blogger-loving magazine which is Company, has left the building (or is leaving… in September). So, is it time to say R.I.P to the good old magazine?

Is it time to say RIP to magazines? Company magazine announces closure

I’ve always loved magazines, my favourites as a ‘kid’ (I’m a teen now ya’ see), were mainly Girl Talk & Mizz, and like most cool mums, Mama Posh has always had her huge (I mean huge…) collection, – “Don’t you dare cut them up!” -. There is something quite satisfying about flicking through the glossy (or matte) pages of nicely dressed people and getting your dose of fashion and celebrity news. It’s like a bible of inspiration!

There has always been the negatives though, even before we add in the Internet taking the limelight. One of my biggest hates about magazines is the amount of advertisements that are thrown under our noses. Quite frankly, it’s not the airbrushed models that really get on my nerves, it’s the fact that quite a lot of the people who buy (fashion) magazines can’t afford Gucci or Prada handbags, so why put an ad every 2 pages? In my opinion magazines like Vogue and Elle are just billboards made of paper, with celebrities and supermodels binding them together. I’m sure there are people who agree, which I suppose makes it 1-0 to the web. FYI, I know that advertisements bring in the dough for the publishers…

Not only can readers generally not afford what is offered on these advertisements, they also can’t afford it when magazines are more expensive than a nice lunch. I’ve seen some magazines priced at £15-£20 recently. 2-0 to the Internet. Free content obviously has it’s benefits… for now anyway, e-Magazines have rising prices too don’t forget!

Speaking of content, bloggers, vloggers and popular sites make magazine content look rather drab. With videos, articles and sometimes interactive features, the Internet provides us with more than we could ever ask for. I believe that there is a great expectation for online publishers to be honest and true to life, yet if magazines are to be a thing of the past, then bloggers etc will fill those jobs and that whole aspect will die. I already see it in my opinion. 3-0.

Unfortunately it’s not looking too good for Team Magazine, the only positives seem to be that it is a tradition that we may not let go of for a few more years, or the fact that it provides stable jobs. Being a freelancer is proving more popular, but it’s a lot harder especially when you don’t know what’s coming next in terms of the economy.

As a lover of magazines, especially Company, it is sad to see them loose their charm, but perhaps the online world has something even better up it’s sleeves…
Let me know your thoughts, just leave me a comment! I’d love to hear them 🙂

Scrap Social #1: The First Few Pages

By August 11, 2014 Scrap Social

I had an old notebook lying around, a spare few moments and an idea. I took several Company magazine’s, some scissors and a glue stick, and started a little scrapbook. I think I mainly decided to do this as a source of inspiration, but also because I wanted something creative to do instead of reaching to the iPad/internet when I became remotely bored. I decided to call it ‘Scrap Social’.. aka, scrapping social media… whilst scrap booking. Dah-dah! #ScrapSocial ✌ (Cuttings etc are mostly from Company/Vogue etc etc…)

scrap social how to make a scrap book

scrap social how to make a scrap book

The first few pages are fairly random, but somehow I managed to make the first two look fairly Tumblr-esque which I am quite proud of! I think the fun in scrap-booking is how random it is allowed to be. Let your mind run free! I feel like the more random it looks the better… you can see with my third page it isn’t quite perfect as I attempted to make it look like some kind of story or whatever, in the end it ended up in a mess, but that’s the joy of this idea. You can see how your inspiration becomes even more artistic as the pages go on!

scrap social how to make a scrap book

scrap social how to make a scrap book

The fourth page is probably my most favourite. It’s super cute, yet the flowers and doodles add a spontaneous twist. I added some nail art pieces to this page to make it more three dimensional and more textured, but if you don’t have anything to use, try different papers… more about that towards the end!  I love how the next page really fits in with the whole feel of the previous one… it’s sort of geometric with a girly edge. I think the best way to make a scrapbook feel more individual is to do spontaneous scribbles. It makes it come to life! I also want to try sewing to make it look like the paper has been stitched… we shall see!

scrap social how to make a scrap book

scrap social how to make a scrap book

I believe colour and text is another way to really make your scrapbook more fun. I experimented with it in these four pages.. I think I prefer it when it’s already there for you… my doodle-y handwriting is not the best! I also tried felt tips and stickers. I’m all for the stickers, but I’m still deciding on felt tips… what do you think?

scrap social how to make a scrap book

scrap social how to make a scrap book

Okay I lied about that other page being my favourite. These ones are! As I got more into doing these pages, I feel like I have found my feet. Flower sketches, matching colours and biro pen doodles are my favourite techniques! I just love the way it looks. I even stuck a false flower on the last page… rebel! Even if I am saying it myself… this just looks so pretty!

scrap social how to make a scrap book

So we come to the end of the first #ScrapSocial round up! I’ve listed a few tips and tricks below just in case you are interested! I’d love to see some of you lovely people getting involved. Let’s scrap social media (well, not completely), start getting creative and share how we get a long!

  • Don’t pay out on a fancy book! Most notebooks will do the job nicely… I actually love the effect it gives.
  • Use magazines with matte paper! I think it gives the best effect… but of course you can experiment with different textures.
  • Biros are your best friend! Pencils are cool, but pens are better.
  • Don’t stick to one theme, let your mind go wild.

Leave a comment letting me know if you have started a scrap book recently and if you will be getting involved with #ScrapSocial!

ASOS Saved Items Wishlist #3 – Pastel Cats

By August 8, 2014 Wishlist

Howdy! It’s that time again… here is another ASOS Saved Items wishlist, ooh yeah baby! I haven’t actually ordered much from ASOS for a while… but I expect I will sometime soon after looking back at all these pretty things…

asos saved items lazy oaf check skirtWEIRDO BEANIE // BLUE GRID MIDI SKIRT

Weirdo Beanie: This is from Lazy Oaf, and it’s been on the ASOS site for ages now! I keep having the ‘I can’t wait for the cosiness of A/W’ feeling which I think is why I am attracted to this! It’s only £6 which for L.Oaf is a total bargain… plus it kind describes who I am…. ‘WEIRDO’… *lols*

Blue Grid Midi Skirt: The reason this attracted me is because of the bold cobalt blue colour. I love it! It’s so striking, yet because of the white I’m sure it would be super duper versatile. This style of skirt with the two zips seems to be popping up, and I would say this is one of the better versions I have seen.

asos saved items lazy oaf cactus hat floral sandalsCACTUS SNAP BACK // FLORAL SANDALS

Cactus Snap Back: Another Lazy Oaf piece, but from a more recent collection. I don’t really think I would buy this, but I just love the print. Well, I just love cacti right now. In fact, I really want a cactus necklace… hmm! This cap is also pastel, and you can never go wrong with pastels!

Floral Sandals: I don’t necessarily love these, but I think the print and the white platform draw me in. They’re super bright, but would look awesome with a good pair of jeans like they’re pictured with. The style isn’t great, but the print is. What d’ya think?

asos saved items tartan bandanna lilac cat dressBLUE TARTAN BANDANNA // LILAC CAT PRINT DRESS

Blue Tartan Bandanna: Like I mentioned, I’m feeling very A/W-ery, so this is right up my street! I feel like the bandanna is making a big come back for the end of this year and this one isn’t half bad. I think with my shorter (it’s growing back though, woop!) hair style this would look super cute! I think with an ASOS code, or with the next sale, I shall snap this up! Cute, cute, cute. Update whilst completing final edit: I remembered I have a green scarf which would work perfectly… money spending tip: look at your scarfs!

Lilac Cat Print Dress: Ever since Susie (Lau) wore a lilac dres from the ASOS Salon collection, I’ve been obsessed with them and this one is just amazing! It has CATS on it! PASTEL CATS. What more could you want?! I love the fit too, it’s totally my style. Very tempting, I must resist it’s beauty!

asos saved items stripey platforms ripped jeansSTRIPEY EYED PLATFORMS // SKINNY RIPPED JEANS

Stripey Eyed Platforms: I can’t remember where I first saw these, but I think it was in some kind of publication (aka, magazine) and they’re kind of… f-ugly (FASHIONABLY ugly… don’t get the wrong idea!). I don’t think they would fit my skinny mini feet, but there is something about them which I just love. It must be the eyes… it has to be.

Skinny Ripped Jeans: Everyone and their dog is going on about skinny ripped jeans and I think I need some! I’m totally into the preppy style they give off and these ones look like my kind of style. I’m either a super duper light jeans or super duper dark jeans which is weird, and these fit in the latter category. The rips are only at the knees which is also a plus… I saw a pair with a rip just below ya’ bum cheek! Ew! Very tempted to purchase these when I can… I think I need them seeing as I only own a pair of mom jeans!

asos saved items velcro sandals white dressWHITE SPORT STYLE SANDALS // WHITE DRESS

White Sport Style Sandals: I LOVE these! I think the sporty vibe is just awsome. They look really comfortable too… why are there are not more velcro shoes in the world? You get past Year 5 at school and then it’s laces and slip on’s for the rest of your life… Let’s all thank ASOS for bring velcro back in such style. I want these so bad! …Come on Winter sale! COME ON!

White Dress: There’s a hole in my wardrobe, dear Liza, dear Liza, there’s a hole in my wardrobe, dear Liza, a hole…” A white dressed, bohemian style hole, and this dress would fit perfectly. It’s a beauty… I just love it! I think we all agree I should be payed in ASOS vouchers for these posts… my wardrobe would just be ASOS ASOS ASOS… ‘Oh Tolly, where’s that dress from?’ Topshop… JUST KIDDING! ASOS.

Sisterly Style: Balloon, Baby & Blue Hues*

By August 3, 2014 My Style

After my last post’s excitment, I have another super lovely post, and it features somebody who looks a tiny weeny bit like me… and a baby! Zazzy, a personalised jewellery brand asked me to try out their service and to celebrate International Best Friend Day (today!) at the same time, so I’ve wrangled in my sister for a double OOTD!

What bracelet would you design for your BFF… or sister?! Leave a comment…

First let’s do a little introduction to my sister… her name is Saskia, and is also a blogger (at Songs, Silliness & Such), she’s erm… 12 years older than me and definitely counts as a BFF. Saskia is the mummy of little Diggory, my (pretty much) 10 month year old nephew (see his cuteness below). Zazzy asked us both to design bracelets for each other, and we are both obsessed! They’re brilliant quality and are perfect seeing as we are both pretty slim… adjustable bracelets are the best! I find it funny how we both went for gold… read on for why we chose the different symbols!

What I Wore: Crochet Top (Jumble Sale), Noah Noah Tulle Skirts £7.99 (Oxfam), Floral Crown (DIY), Jelly Sandals (Supermarket), Slogan Elastic Bracelets (Claire’s)*, Lip Necklace (ASOS) & Symbol Bracelet (Designed by Saskia @ Zazzy)*

I like the colour blue, and I like green, and I also think purple compliments them both very well, so this outfit seemed just right. Saskia kindly bought her and I matching lip necklaces, and seeing as my bracelet is matching purple, my DIY floral crown tied it all in. I love this little crochet crop top as it’s sort of bohemian, yet it looks funky and bright. My tulle skirts make another appearance of course, and some how feel a bit Hawaiian in this outfit?!

Saskia on Tolly’s bracelet: Ever since Tolly was just a baby we’ve had a very close relationship, with many conversations ending in tears of laughter (or hideous snorts). I choose symbols that would reflect this with the term ‘LOL’ and a cute smiley, and picked the purple chord to go with her blog header (because I know her blog is so important to her). Typically Tolly has said she’s going to use this bracelet as her sarcasm stamp – so don’t get on the wrong side of her or she’ll be holding up wrist for a swift ‘LOL’ ie – you’re not funny. Unfortuantely I think I’ve already been on the receiving end of one… Still love you though, and my bracelet too!

sisterly style zazzy jewellery songs silliness and such

What Saskia Wore: Blue Maxi Dress (Boohoo), Necklaces (Rings & Tings)*, River Island Multi Friendship Bracelet, Spotty Flats (TKMaxx) & Symbol Bracelet (Designed by Tolly @ Zazzy)

At one stage I feel like mine and Saskia’s styles were quite similar…. we both went through a stage of loving aztec prints (I think we did…), but now our styles are completely different. Saskia loves simple pieces with pops of colour, as well as things which are super comfortable, so it’s quite a strong contrast. Although she doesn’t think it, she does have an eye for cute things, for example her spotty shoes she bought from our TKMaxx browse… I love them! They’re super cute, and seeing as they are monochrome, they go with most of her wardrobe. It is a simple outfit, but I like it! Pastel coloured cuteness.

Tolly on Saskia’s bracelet: Just like what Saskia mentioned, we do enjoy a good laugh, so I thought it would be nice for her bracelet to feature lots of smiles and happiness. I think it will be a nice reminder when she’s down (*cough* missing me of course) to just keep smiling. The star was another cute little symbol 🙂 I chose blue because Saskia seems to wear the colour quite often so it will match most of her outfits.

I really enjoyed doing this little outfit post with Saskia! If you want to see more of her make sure to check out her blog and Twitter. Pssst, have you seen my big news? I’m releasing my first collection… say what?! Speak soon!

(This post is not sponsored. Zazzy kindly sent me and Saskia a bracelet to style up, so I decided to do a nice little post featuring them. Read my full PR disclaimer here.)

Today marks a milestone. Today marks the day of another stepping stone reached on my path of goals. I even made a snazzy GIF to go along with it, so it must be jolly important!

I signed a contract. A real deal, fancy wording, several pages long, contract.
At the start of 2014, I wrote in my new diary a few goals just for fun. I had no idea that one of them would come true, not once, but twice; within 7 months. What?!
Goal number one reads, ‘To start doing product collaborations with brands.’

My contract reads, ‘Mooi en Lief by Tolly Dolly Posh’
O_O After a couple of months of working things out and getting things ready, I can finally announce that towards the start of 2015, my very own collection in collaboration with Mooi en Lief will launch! It’s going to be a collection of socks and tights for girls, tweens and teens designed by yours truly, and I’m really, super excited, eee!

I would like to say a massive thank you not only to Jacquelina at Mooi en Lief, but also to all the people that read my blog! If you guys didn’t read this little site, then these cool people wouldn’t be able to help make me achieve these goals and ambitions. I really hope you can come along on this new journey with me and will be ready and waiting to buy the first pairs! …that’s it I guess! Eee! Like what?! Crazy, heh?! 😀

My Style: A La Plage… To The Beach*

By July 22, 2014 My Style

The other week we popped along to one of my favourite beaches, which is actually a quarry made into an adventure beach, and it’s really quite fun! I wanted to take some snaps of a summery outfit I popped together featuring a few new pieces to my wardrobe, and I hope you like this My Style post as much as I do! A la plage….

What do you like to wear to the beach? Let me know in the comments…my style m&co footlocker asos kimono pom pommy style m&co footlocker asos kimono pom pommy style m&co footlocker asos kimono pom pommy style m&co footlocker asos kimono pom pomWhat I Wore: Blue Daisy Kimono £18.00 – Now £12.00 (Kylie – M&Co.)*, Striped Top (St. James), Denim Shorts (Jumble Sale), Leopard Converse Hi-Tops €19.99 (Footlocker) & Pom Pom Headband £3.50 (ASOS)

Going to the beach for me is one of the hardest places to dress for. You don’t want to wear too much, or too little, but then you also don’t want to dress completely different to how you usually do… so for this trip, I went for casual, bright and of course a clash of prints. My shorts and top are both comfortable and practical for slipping in and out off, and my new kimono (finally!) is the best cover up, ever. I’m not really sure how this outfit works so well, but it just kinda’ does. I think just putting touches of each colour here and there will make it all tie in, even if the prints are all completely different and a little bit bold.

my style m&co footlocker asos kimono pom pom my style m&co footlocker asos kimono pom pom my style m&co footlocker asos kimono pom pomYou may have noticed in previous posts that I have been dying for a kimono, so when M&Co introduced me to their Kylie range, I went straight for them, and I’m so glad I picked this one! The print is awesome, and it’s the perfect flowy-ness. It’s a lot better quality than I would have thought, and seems pretty versatile even with the bold daisy print. My floral/random crown collection featured this little pom-pom number and the yellow perfectly matches my beautiful new shoes…

my style m&co footlocker asos kimono pom pom my style m&co footlocker asos kimono pom pom my style m&co footlocker asos kimono pom pomA couple of days before we headed to the beach, we visited Montpellier near the coast, and one of the shops I happened to pop into was Footlocker. The massive sale was on, and I happened to notice a pair of bright yellow leopard print Converses on the side… expecting them to still be over €30 or €40, I was absolutely stunned to see ‘€19.99 from €74.99’ (less than £16) on the price tag. Mama Posh kindly treated me to them and I am so happy! My first ever pair of Converse, and boy they are gorgeous! Although they are bright, the yellow is the perfect mustard shade which means they are a touch more versatile… what do you think?!

So there we have it! I hope you liked this post as much as I did writing it 🙂 Just to leave you on an exciting note… one of my upcoming posts *fingers crossed* will be an exciting announcement 😀 I’m literally buzzing just thinking of it! Eeee!

Fast Food Fashion – What’s On The Menu?

By July 17, 2014 Fashion

After a few recent purchases, I have realised that I have a thing for fast food fashion… whether it’s socks, necklaces, badges, the whole lot, it is definitely a trend I’m loving. I decided to put together a little blog post so you can see what is currently ‘on the menu’. I even purchased some props to make this post even more snazzy! I really hope you enjoy 🙂

MAIN COURSE – BURGER SOCKS £1.00 (KYLIE – M&CO.)* – FAST FOOD SOCKS £3.00 (ASOS)

The first plate is of course, some burgers… in the form of two pairs of socks, at super cheap prices… cheap as chips (ha.. ha..)! The first pair are from M&Co, and look super juicy and kitsch. I think they would look awesome with nautical stripes and some cute flats. For those of you who want a more subtle fast food option, these socks from the ASOS Menswear range might be for you! A more robust pair of socks with a retro style cartoon print… I’ve styled this with denim dungarees and they look awesome. I love the yellow and red… *sassy click of fingers* primary perfection.

ON THE SIDE – CHIP SOCKS £1.00 (KYLIE – M&CO.)* – CHIP NECKLACE £12.00 (CHELSEA DOLL)*

You can’t have a burger without a classic side of fries/chips and a good dose of ketchup, so these two pieces are perfect. I think if you were to wear one of the chip socks with one of the burger socks, you would look awesome. This necklace is definitely a favourite of mine as it’s really bold and bright, yet simple all in one. Chelsea Doll have a whole range of #JunkFood accessories, so if you like the look of this one, you’ll love the rest!

*CHEERS* DRINKS – JUNK NECKLACE £18.00 (PUNKY PINS)*

Ahh yes, a use for my Jean Paul Gaultier Coca-Cola can! Obviously a meal wouldn’t be complete without drinks, and for me it’s always got to be a good ol’ Coca-Cola… like I mentioned in my interview for the Mooi En Lief lifestyle magazine *wink wink* This necklace is crazy though, it has burgers, cereal boxes, toothpaste tubes, you name it, it’s on it! I love it nonetheless, and if you want to see how I would style it, click here.

DESSERT – CANDY GLITTER DREAMS NECKLACE £15.00 (I LOVE CRAFTY)

There’s always room for dessert, isn’t there? Well, today I have a beauty… a glittery donut shaped beauty! I decided to treat myself to a piece from the new I Love Crafty Donut Shop collection, and I’m so glad I did! It’s stunning. From the gorgeous sparkles, to the gold little gem, every detail makes it special. Laura sprinkles them with goodness and love, as it arrived in a gorgeous packaging which I shall keep it nice and new in. I honestly cannot wait to style this! Yum!

A Summer Night In: Create, Read, Wear & Listen*

By July 10, 2014 My Style

Well hello there again. Today I have a post which has been waiting to be made up for so long, and it’s finally here! One day I had a random idea to do a sort of Girls Night In post, where I give you ideas of things to do, or to read etc… but it’s ended being more of a ‘favourites’ post in a slightly different style, but I like it! I’m going to show you some of my fave brands, products etc all in one awesome ‘Summer Night In’ post! I hope it inspires you to just sit back, relax and have a selfish night all to yourself…

One of the best ways to tune out, is to tune in to your favourite music. I’ve been absolutely obsessed with London Grammar‘s latest album ‘If You Wait‘. It’s beautiful, powerful and deep all in one… and it sounds even better when I use my new Skullcandy Knockouts. They are honestly, GORGEOUS! I didn’t think I would like the tan leather, but I was so so wrong about it! I adore them so very much! The first time I saw a pair of Skullcandy headphones was on the bus to school when I was around 6, and have always admired them, so to finally own my very own pair, which are utterly gorgeous, makes me sooo happy! I love the little touches, from the floral case to the embossed ‘Land On Your Feet’ on the headband. Love, love love!

Then of course we need to be looking fine and dandy, and that means getting into my favourite piece of attire… PJs! I absolutely love this combo! Both are 2nd hand actually, but they are still so comfortable and look as good as new! Super duper cute, heh? I love the sparkles too… they make the top that little bit more fun and enjoyable to wear!

I don’t think a nice relaxing evening would be complete without a bit of beauty, so of course it had to be included! Catseye London just released a new range of wash bags, and I must say that I am impressed! The size is perfect for fitting everything you need in, it’s wipe cleanable and it even has a pocket inside… perfect for such products as my Clarin’s Lotus Face Oil! I have been using this in my skincare ‘routine’ (which consists of three products mind you…) and I have to say it’s been working a treat! Who knew an oil could help oily skin?! As a relaxing night should be about indulgence, the Burt’s Bee’s set I have is perfect! I’ve used all 3 of the body products and it feels like you are in a spa. SO relaxing!

For Christmas about four years ago I got this awesome colouring book, and I never really got into it that much… I sort of rushed it a bit and it ended up not being the best it could have been, so when a similar version became mine I was delighted! It might seem weird to like a colouring book, but I promise you it is more than that! I see it as more of a source of inspiration and something to do to pass the time. Plus, this one doesn’t seem to let ink seep through which is a bonus. Add on top of that some gorgeous pens (perfect for designing!), I’m pretty happy! Listening to music whilst doing something like this really does get your creative juices flowing, I even did a doodle on the ‘Tyson Triplus‘ Tumblr blog, see it here

When you want to zone out completely, or fall asleep as I like to call it, then a good book always does the trick, and Picture Perfect is definitely a good book! It’s witty, the characters are great, it makes you feel sad and happy all in one. A really really nice read and I can’t wait for the fourth book to be released! It’s also very relatable to me, especially Harriet’s character, I couldn’t really say a bad word about it! Highly recommend giving the whole series a read to any of you fellow youngsters/teens 🙂 I also highly recommend Miss Jojangles to anybody and anyone. Jojo has been the nicest of people on the interwebs recently and has really made me feel proud of my little blog. Just like Geek Girl, her blog is whitty and happy. Jojo makes knitting, tambourine playing and aubergines look cool, what more could you want?!

Speak soon my chums! I hope you enjoyed this post, if you did, make sure you follow me on BlogLovin’ for more!
