Lisette Loves Guest Post: Tartan

By October 25, 2013 Fashion

Today’s guest post is from the wonderful, Lisette Henry at Lisette Loves. Do you remember when she guest blogged last time? Well, she’s back again with another cute, quick and simple one! Take it away…

lisette loves guest post styles tartan three ways

Lisette: That time of year has come once more, the layering here in the UK is well and truly underway as we hurtle into the icy months of fall. Tartan is a trend which resurfaces almost every year on the catwalks and on the highstreet, this year is no exception. A lot of my friends shy away from tartan, scared they will look like overgrown school girls or too grungey and ‘punk’. I decided that I would put together a mini lookbook, my first in fact, to show some of the ways that I wear this deliciously autumnal trend.

look one: Boyfriend Blazer – Primark, Fur Collar – H&M, Cami – Topshop, Skirt – Matalan, Shoes – Office

look two: Scarf – H&M, Oversized Breton Top – Primark, Joni Jeans – Topshop, Chunky Boots – Topshop

look three: Biker Jacket – Ark Clothing, Dress – H&M, Shirt – New Look, Cut Out Boots – Topshop

What do y’all think?
Tolly: I think you look great Lisette! My favourite is Look One! Perfect! Simple, cute and definitely A/W appropriate! 🙂

So, basically, I am on another short little break! I am flying a very very very long way, across the channel, to… England – note: it’s only like, 2 hours away really… -. I am rather excited because… *dramatic dun dun dun* I get to meet my little nephew! 😀 He’s still pretty much newborn, so YAY! I’m a tad scared that I will crush him, in my first-ever-time-holding-a-baby cuddle, but… YAY! I also get to go shopping – PRIMARK *hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah* -, drink milkshake, go to the cinema, and just have an awesome time avec ma famille. PLUS. I have a SUPER DUPER EXCITING, OMG IS THIS REAL LIFE, thing happening, which sadly I cannot tell you about just yet, but hopefully *fingers crossed*, I will be able to tell you some good news 🙂 So yeah, overall I am verrry excited about this little break! Blogger Inspired Fashion Design Collection

By September 8, 2013 Designs, Fashion

Oh. My. WOW. I haven’t done a design collection in yonks. I know I said I would, and I’m sawwwry, okay?! But, I thought this idea would make it a good way to start a fresh? Non? Welcome in my blogger inspired fashion design collection, oh yes!

blogger inspired fashion designAll these designs have been based on the blogger’s style. I’ve looked at what they’ve worn and slightly tweaked them. I’m sorry if they are not totally extravagant, but I wanted to really make them wearable for the bloggers.

What Olivia Did:
As you may already know, I love Olivia’s style, and I wanted to sort of, change up a few of the classic pieces that she likes to wear. I’ve made a sailor style collar, but changed it up to a pink colour. I would also make it embellished but it was hard to show on the image above. The skirt is a skater style one in polka dots, I would make it a nice thick jersey style so it has a lot of shape to it.

Briar Rose:
Again, one of my favourite style inspirations, Megan. I decided to sort of change up the style, by going all out pink, and also using a smock style dress. Megan has the perfect figure for any type of dress style! The neckline has laser cut detail with also a few embellishments around. The skirt is a low waist, and has a nice puffy underskirt. I definitely think Megan could rock this!

Lisette Loves:
You might know, that um, I have a slight obsession with this one 😉 in, a *hopefully* non creepy way. Lisette has a gorgeous fashion sense! I decided to take her away from her favourite style of the smock dress, and pop her in a shift dress. A shapeless dress is always flattering, plus denim is too? I know Lisette could accessorise this really well! I would make the dress a nice perfect blue with a slight acid wash effect.

Hey D*ck Face:
A more recent style obsession, is the lovely lady from Hey D*ck face. Her style is quite quirky but simple, so anyone can try and take a few ideas from her outfits. I decided to do a twist on one of her most recent OOTDs. I’ve made the sweater a purple and pastel blue dip dye colour, with the Hey D*ck face logo.  I also changed up the skirt so it is a metallic texture – so cool. I love the metallic look, and I definitely think she could work it 😉

I hope you enjoyed this blog post! Make sure to check out all these lovely ladies, their blogs are amazing! I think I might do another one of these collections? What do you think? Let me know in the comments?

Lisette’s DIY Simple Gold Tube Necklace

By August 5, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle, Fashion

Hello everyone! Today’s guest post is by Lisette from Lisette Loves (one of my all time fave bloggers)! She’s put together a cute and simple DIY, so enjoy!

tolly1tollydiy2tolly5

Lisette: I spotted some gold tube necklaces and bracelets on various blogs, but I can’t seem to find them anywhere so I had a go at making my own. All you need is dried macaroni, gold marker pen, embroidery thread, and a toothpick.

Step 1: Colour the macaroni with the marker.
Step 2: String the macaroni onto the thread. (You can use a toothpick to help)
Step 3: Create a loop on one end of the string.
Step 4: Tie the other end of the string to the macaroni to create a pasta-toggle.

I chose to make mine with brightly coloured threads and layer them up together but you could string them onto a thin chain or fully string the necklace to create a more solid effect.

I hope you enjoyed my guest blog! If you’d like to check out my blog, click the links below!
