I’ll Be Back Soon!

By October 23, 2013 My Style

Howdy everyone! Just a quick-y, update-y, short-y post for ya’ today! I just wanted to update you before you all think I have disappeared off the face of the planet *prays that, that would never happen, amen*

DSC07901(Throwback to my last visit to the UK! The night of the Style Blogger Awards!)

So, basically, I am on another short little break! I am flying a very very very long way, across the channel, to… England – note: it’s only like, 2 hours away really… -. I am rather excited because… *dramatic dun dun dun* I get to meet my little nephew! 😀 He’s still pretty much newborn, so YAY! I’m a tad scared that I will crush him, in my first-ever-time-holding-a-baby cuddle, but… YAY! I also get to go shopping – PRIMARK *hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah* -, drink milkshake, go to the cinema, and just have an awesome time avec ma famille. PLUS. I have a SUPER DUPER EXCITING, OMG IS THIS REAL LIFE, thing happening, which sadly I cannot tell you about just yet, but hopefully *fingers crossed*, I will be able to tell you some good news 🙂 So yeah, overall I am verrry excited about this little break! I also have 2 guest blog posts heading your way…. (read on)…

kimi and me guest blogThe wonderful Christina from Kimi & Me will be doing a guest blog post this week! I love her blog for a source of inspiration. Her blog isn’t personal style, beauty, etc etc, but a nice mix of everything. My favourite posts are her wishlists and inspiration ones, and you have one coming your way! Check out her blog here!

lisette guest blogThe amazing Lisette from Lisette Loves (she guest blogged for me once before) is back again! You guys know how much love I have for this lovely lady, so I am happy to have her back! She’ll be bringing you a mini look book, and I am sure you will be inspired! Check out her blog here! (Image from her wonderful blog!)

There will be an advertiser’s Q&A also this week! I will be checking my comments, but please don’t expect me to reply to every single email/message I receive this week! If you do have anything urgent etc etc, please email me: [email protected] My super parcel receiver assistant/cat looker-after-er (big bro), will be on hand letting me know if any parcels have arrived of which you may have sent, so I will try and let you know ASAP!

My Style: Oriental Jungle In The City*

By September 6, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle, Fashion, My Style

Excuse the really odd title of this My Style post. I thought it was quite fitting, though…?! I also excuse the fact that my editing is changing. I’m trying to find the perfect way that suits the feel of my outfits I wear, I know it can be annoying, but I just can’t find the right type of colours etc

peacocks my style peacocks my style peacocks my style What I Wore: Floral Crown (DIY), Oriental Silk Kimono Top €1.00 (Jumble Sale), Sleeveless Parrot Blouse £8.00* (Peacocks), Petite Lasercut Hi Low Skirt £13.00 (ASOS), Jelly Shoes (Supermarket).

I LOVE THIS OUTFIT. When this gorgeous blouse slipped through my letter box, I was like.. ‘Hmm, what should I wear it with’, so I went on the hunt for something to wear with it. BINGO. A 1 EURO Silk Kimono Top in the perfect turquoise blue. The colour picks out the parrots in my blouse, and ooooh they look so nice together. Add my flowy lasercut skirt from ASOS (Still available here, grab it whilst you can!), and it’s just perfect. Although this blouse is Peacocks, I really do like it. It’s great quality for the price. The one thing that is a shame, is the fact that there are only a few gems in the range for girls, which are in the midst of 1D T-Shirts, so come on Peacocks, give us some more! I definitely think I would wear this to LFW though, for one of the more informal shows… *sob sob* Ahhh, one can dream!

As I always do, here is the lifestyle part of my OOTDs… last week we went on a day trip, involving an hour and a half car journey. We went to a pretty village which was basically on the edge of a hill (One of the building was IN the hill). We had a walk round, a drink and a kebab – the yummy ones, pita bread, chips, BBQ sauce, onion… you know the drill. We then went back home stopping off to of course take my OOTD pictures 😉 #bloggerproblems. It was a really lovely day, but also absolutely boiling! I am going to miss the summer, but oh boy, I can’t wait for cosy nights in the winter!

A Fresh New Start & A Give-Away!

By August 13, 2013 General

Well hello there, how are you? It’s been a whole 2 weeks since I sat down and wrote a blog post for you guys, and I have missed it. This post will explain the slight changes you may have noticed, exactly why I was away for ‘so long’ and, of course, a cheeky little give-away thrown in too 😉

Most of you probably won’t know, but my now, old, banner has been on this blog since the very day it began. That was when I was 11 years ‘young’, and I am now 13. I may not be completely different, but I definitely feel like I have changed in my style, so I felt it was the right time to change a few things around here. I had to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new, and I quite like this 2nd chapter so far. It’s still bright and fun, but it’s a bit more laid back and simple than before. Of course I had to keep the TDP headband in there, because that is part of me. The outfit with the headband is actually quite special because it includes 2 things which have been a big part of my blogging story, which are my ASOS jacket and my blue sunglasses. Sounds a bit random, but I wore the jacket to the #stylebloggerawards and it was also my 13th birthday treat, and the sunglasses were from the awards themselves so they have a nice memory with them.

Some of you may not like the new banner, but I do. I feel like it portrays me now more than my last one, and I think it will be a nice fresh way to start the new upcoming season. I definitely couldn’t have kept my old one for much longer, because I’m 13… things will change… #awkward… Also, the content of my blog is going to change slightly, i.e there is going to be way more designs, and fashion trends, more inspo posts, and fashion-y things. I hope you will enjoy it!

Moving on to the reason I was away; If you have seen on my Instagram, you may already know, but for those of you don’t then, here you go… this October, I won’t just be a sister, a daughter, granddaughter or niece, I will become an aunty and a godmother. I am extremely excited about the new addition to the family, and I felt it would be weird to keep such a big thing from you. My family were all over in the south of France these past weeks, soaking up the sun, and enjoying each others company, and I loved it!

Now to the give-away!  I’m sorry this post is so long, I needed to update you all!
So, I haven’t done a give-away in like… ages. The reason is because I was waiting for the right time, and I think it’s probably the perfect time now! This give-away is a thank you to all of my loyal followers who spur me on in reaching my dream. It’s not a fancy prize, unfortunately, but it’s just a few small things which I hope you will enjoy.

DSC_0400 DSC_0394Prizes: 1 x The September Issue DVD (Rating: 12), 1 x Illustrated Portrait by myself, 1 x Black Lace Eye Rock, 1 x Pair of Purple Daisy Earrings, 1 x Ad Space for your blog/site (Non-blogger alternative: Write a blog post for Tolly!)

THIS GIVE-AWAY HAS NOW ENDED!
The winner was … Laura Jarvis

That is it! Good Luck everyone! Thanks for sticking with me these past 2 weeks! I look forward to blogging again! I really do ‘love’ the support you guys give to me, it is so helpful, and you are da’ bestest. *virtual hug*

French Fashion

By June 7, 2012 Fashion

On Saturday, I will be leaving home, to embark on a short trip to France, ‘Le Mans’ to be precise! So, I thought, as I haven’t been doing any articles recently, and I’m going there, maybe I should do a post on French Fashion? Oui…

Lets start from WW2. During the war, many French fashion houses were shut down, like, Maison Vionnet and Maison Chanel. As Germany took over most of what France produced, including Fashion, Germany took France’s haute couture, over to cities like Berlin and Vienna. During times like this, Fashion shows still went on, but with only around 75 models, shortened amount of time for evening wear, and lighter material being used on day wear. From around 1940, only 4 meters of material was used to make a Coat, and 1 meter for a blouse. With older Fashion houses closing, the only way Women could show there personality through their clothing was through a Hat. These Hats were made from old scraps of coloured materials, and sometimes, even Wood chippings!

A Fashion Show in 1947

After the war had ended, French Fashion started bigger, and better! (See above) Christian Dior, brought in a famous collection, ‘New Look’ in 1947. The collection included dresses full of colour, and skinny waists, for the French women to slip into, and feel good in. From then on, French Fashion was bigger than ever. With Elle, being founded in 1945, and in 1952, Chanel returned to Paris!

In the 1960s French Fashion became more manufactured and more ‘prêt-à-porter‘. Yves Saint Lauren came out with new collections, which were far more casual than just after the war. Since the 1960s, France’s Fashion industry, are now in competition with other countries; Britain, America, Germany, Italy etc.

I hope I come back from France with lots of Photos, so I can share my very short trip – 2 days! – with you all!
