My Style: Neon, Neon And More Neon

By February 20, 2014 General

Hello! Well I hope you are enjoying your week! Today I have another My Style blog post! Papa Posh is still getting the hang of my new lens but it seems to be going well so far! There’s also a sneaky book review in this one, so if you like to read then this is the place to be! Enjoy me’ harties…

my style peacocks rings and tings asos nike jd sports ootd fashion blog my style peacocks rings and tings asos nike jd sports ootd fashion blog my style peacocks rings and tings asos nike jd sports ootd fashion blogWhat I Wore: White & Orange Blouse with Drop Waist £11.00 (ASOS), Navy LOVE Jumper £12.00 (Peacocks)*, ‘Mom’ Jeans (Jumble Sale), Nike TR Fit 3.0 (JD Sports)* & Zebra Double Finger Ring £5.00 (Rings & Tings)*

This outfit is quickly becoming one of my favourites at the moment. It’s so comfortable, yet it has that little bit of something that makes it ‘chic’. I picked up the drop waist blouse in the ASOS sale (seriously, I picked up a great bargain), and as soon as I slipped it on, it was true love. It’s that sort of piece that can really do anything, whether it’s in the summer, or in the cold month of February. I think it looks absolutely gorgeous and cute with my lovely (I mean lovely) Peacocks jumper over the top. It’s that perfect mix of geek and chic. Seeing as it is still pretty nippy (well, not quite the 8 degrees of the UK… oh sorry did I boast a bit then? 😉 ), I have to pair it with my ‘mom’ jeans, which isn’t a problem really because I simply love them. Don’t forget my Nike trainers of course, one of my favourite pairs of shoes, EVER.

I broke the blogger rule of not putting your hands on your hips. I’m just terrible aren’t I? TERRIBLE (Sorry, I love a bit of sarcasm…). On fashion sides of things though, LOOK AT MY RING. ISN’T IT AWESOME?! IT’S A ZEBRA. I have no idea why but I like to think it’s an Australian Zebra. It just sounds good in an Australian accent. Hmm. I will be showing a few other pieces I got from Rings & Tings shortly, so watch out for that! Also on the jewellery front, I have exciting news… my parents have said that next time I go to the UK I can have my ears pierced. FINALLY. They always said that I have to wait until I’m about 14, but to be fair, being home schooled and all, does it really matter when?! YOLO as they say. YO to the LO. Having said that I now have to prepare myself. I’m going to be putting holes into my lobes. HAHAHA, sorry but that just sounds so weird.

I quite recently finished this book by the amazing Louise Rennison (the writer of Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging), and I thought I would tell you about it! It’s the last in the ‘Misadventures of Tallulah Casey’ series, and although I hadn’t read the previous, it is quite funny either way. It’s very relatable to all young teen girls out there, with Tallulah running into all sorts of boy and school troubles. She’s torn between this wild guy, Cain, and the nice chap, Charlie, and she takes us on her adventure. 1 of my favourite things about the book is Matilda (one of the character’s dog), because every time she does something, it made me giggle. I must say that the book gets better towards the end of the book which is annoying, but if you are looking for a chilled out, relaxing book (something you’d take on holiday), then I would definitely recommend this one!

My Style: When She Was 22*

By November 21, 2013 DIY & Lifestyle, My Style

Hi hi! Today is another edition of My Style, but with a little twist! Read on to see a pretty cool little thing from a certain App brand! *cough* Shuttersong *cough*… 😉

my style ootd fashion blog teen fashion shuttersong ios app photography app my style ootd fashion blog teen fashion shuttersong ios app photography appWhat I Wore: Black Fluffy Jumper £10.00 (Primark), Denim Dungarees (Jumble Sale), Tartan Check Scarf (Second Hand), Tiny Heart Necklace (Girl Talk – the one with TDP in it! 😉 ), Dr Martens (Jumble Sale) & Mermaid Logo Watch (Shuttersong)*

I know this is a weird way to start, but do I look like a deranged elf? I always think I do…? Okay, umm… back to normal… This outfit nice and warm and cosy, and because it has the different textures (fluff and denim), I think it makes it more ‘fashion-y’ and all that jazz. I also like how the denim and the scarf a nice pops of colour against my jumper, so it isn’t too dark and gloomy. It was especially cold when I took these photos, and walking around Toulouse is quite a trek, so I was freezing! Darn you Winter! Ooh ooh! I’m wearing my little heart necklace I got in my Girl Talk magazine (when I was in it), and it is now my lucky necklace, and reminds me of my proud moments 🙂 – Whilst taking these pictures, I realised how embarrassing it is when you take them in public!

Now, you might be wondering, ‘Tolly, why is there an orange dot on that picture?’ well, let me introduce you to Shuttersong! Shuttersong is basically an App which is available for iOS users (iPhone/iPad), where you basically, add music, or a recording on top of the image! I think it is really cute because you could have a picture of you blowing out your candles, then Happy Birthday on top! The App is FREE which means you should totally go and try it out! Visit the App Store and click the download button! On to the watch though… I didn’t own any black, or simple leather watches until this one arrived, and I am so glad I have it! It goes with most things and is the perfect of sizes! I really do like it a lot! It has the Shuttersong Mermaid in the centre, which I have to say, is rather cute! I also like how it has a silver middle, and no numbers because it makes it even more versatile and plain. Plus, it’s real leather, so hopefully it should last quite a long time before anything needs to be replaced!

my style ootd fashion blog teen fashion shuttersong ios app photography app my style ootd fashion blog teen fashion shuttersong ios app photography appSome random pictures I know, but heck, why can I not put my photography on my own blog? If you are wondering, the first image is of some hammers… from the Air Bus museum (yup, that really makes sense), but I thought the focus was quite nice. Then the second one is of some buildings (obviously), and after reading Islaay’s post, I have been obsessed with the way buildings look, and I tried to do some of my own! What do ya’ think?

My Style: I Live In The 50s

By September 19, 2013 Fashion, My Style

I’m really excited to be writing this ‘My Style’ post. I absolutely loved wearing this outfit, and editing it was even more fun. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and make sure you put on your 50s cap for this one!

my style 50s inspired ootd my style 50s inspired ootd my style 50s inspired ootdWhat I Wore: Denim Dress €2.00 (IKKS – Jumble Sale), Blue Cardigan (Primark), Aztec Knee High Socks (River Island), Jelly Shoes €4.00 (Supermarket), Vintage Cat Eye Sunglasses €1.00 (Jumble Sale).

I feel like a vintage doll in this outfit. The dress is just so simple and versatile, it’s one of my best jumble sale finds. I popped a white t-shirt underneath, with some gorgeous knee high socks and my black jelly shoes. I love how all the colours match together, and I feel like I could wear this in whichever season. Just pop on some tights in winter, and voila! Hehe, anyone spot Mama Posh in the reflection?

my style 50s inspired ootd my style 50s inspired ootd my style 50s inspired ootdIf you think that these photos aren’t in focus, well you are wrong. I looked up how to edit them all vintage-y, and I now finally know off by heart the ins and outs of making your photos look beautifully retro. Also, yes, I am wearing eye liner. It seems every time I wear my Primark cardigan, I am always wearing eye liner?! I feel like the eye liner just completes the look and feel of this outfit, and it makes me feel a little bit more special!

I just love this outfit, so so so so much. It’s the most gorgeous outfit ever, and err, I love it. Haha! I don’t think I will keep the editing the same again, but I will keeping it as light and delicate as this. What do you think? Too much or too little? Let me know in the comments!

My Style: Chin Up Buttercup….

By May 7, 2013 Fashion, My Style

I don’t want this blog to become fully a personal style blog, but I do want to involve my style a bit more. I really enjoy doing these post and I get more feedback on these than any other post, so I guess I better do more! Please tell me in the comments if you want to see more! There will be another OOTD next Tuesday featuring some cute tops!

Okay, well maybe a week isn’t too long, but to me IT IS! Papa Posh said that this dress wasn’t really me, but for €2.00 I couldn’t really say no! He was right, as I am not really a girly-girl, pretty dress kinda gal, but I think the way I have styled this makes it a totally different piece. The denim and my Dr Martens make it a lot more edgier and tougher, but the length of the dress still shows the flirty side of it. I really love the two pops of colour through the belt and the socks too! I think if this dress was any longer I wouldn’t have bought it as this length is perfect! Also don’t my Dr Martens look AWESOME?! (I think so anyway…) They look a bit green in the pictures, but hey ho! I am going to wear this outift a lot as the weather warms up!
I will have some pictures of some cupcakes we made the same day soon! I didn’t want to put them in with this post, otherwise it would have been ridiculously long!
