My scholar background is in the visual arts (Arts!) but my fashion background is the street. I started by working in factories and eventually was able to make my own line and open my own stores.

What’s your background in terms of fashion design experience?

What’s one piece of advice you can give myself (and other aspiring designers)?

It is a NEVERENDING cycle. My biggest influences and sources of inspiration come from music and contemporary ART.

How and in what form, do you collect and gain inspiration for your work?

They are some of my best friends, we have been working together for over 10 years. They are 6 super talented human beings – each one with a very different but strong personality and own sense of aesthetic. It is always inspiring and challenging. I love them.

You’ve previously worked with the band, Arcade Fire, how was your experience with working with such a creative group of people?

With every album that I have worked with them, came a different aesthetic and performance style. Those guys know what they want but they are also quite open about collaboration and input.

Did you receive a full brief, or were you just set the general vibe when it came to costumes for shows/tours like Reflektor?

To keep evolving creatively and aesthetically and to keep the business the same way. I deal with it by working and hard and enjoying life too.

What’s your biggest creative struggle right now and how are you dealing with it?
