Accepting Change & Curating Your Personal Archive

By June 12, 2016 DIY & Lifestyle, My Style

Today I wanted to talk a little bit about ‘making your mark’ or leaving your personal imprint in the world, in terms of how we look back on ourselves from a certain point in our lives. That sounds a bit odd, but the idea came to me when my dad stated something a while back over dinner…

WHAT I WORE: Faux Leather Jacket (Peacocks – old)* // Floral Blouse (Jumble Sale) // Bohemian Maxi Dress (Pull & Bear) // 1B99 Dr Martens (Mastershoe My-Shu)* // Rings (Various Stores)

“It’s funny really, when you’re older and we look back, we won’t have many pictures of you in summer dresses, will we Tolly?” is what he said.

What he said really stuck with me, but not for the wrong reasons (just in case you’re worried Papa Posh!). It got me thinking about the idea of our future and past selves and how in the digital age of instantly uploadable photographs and Facebook ‘Memories’, we’re always looking at what we were like then and now, and how it will be so much easier to compare our past selves and cringe over decisions we made ‘back in the day’ when we have this back log of data and endless streams of photos and saved moments in the future.

What my dad was saying was true – when people look back on my younger self, there won’t be any floral dresses or what some might label as ‘girly’ photos of me, because I’m just not that kind of person. I’m not a tomboy or anything like that (I mean, I’m wearing a dress in these photos and my blog is covered in pink and purple – ugh, *eye roll* 🙄 to stereotypes) but I’ve never been the average kind of gal to prance around in little ankle socks and daisy chain printed skirts.

Having the means to digitalise memories and have them saved onto your laptops and phones (or ‘in the cloud’) means we can see all of the changes and transitions happening, and I think what we need to do is accept that. Things do change. We all change.

personal archive - accepting change - being yourself advice

personal archive - accepting change - being yourself advice

For people my age, this is probably one of the hardest things to accept. The idea that we don’t stay as this set person and we don’t always end up being the person we thought we’d be. We can try our best to mould ourselves into what we want to be, but there’s always going to be things that we can’t help doing differently. The reason I’m connecting the dot between this and what my dad said, is because I evolve constantly. I don’t wear summery items of clothing because I’m wearing faux-leather jackets and utility dresses one minute and then blouses and bohemian dresses the next. That’s part of becoming who I am – and part of that is realising, I won’t be able to look back on myself and see this one type of person. No matter how hard I try to create this one aesthetic, there will always be multiple, because I’m still changing.

As a blogger and someone who uses social media rather often, I know what it means to be putting out this specific persona and display of yourself. You probably do too, whether it’s because of what you’re posting or what others are posting. How many Instagram accounts do you go on which are neatly laid out and in a specific colour scheme? Dozens, maybe hundreds, probably… and that’s great; it’s creative and uniform and part of art, but do you know what the biggest struggle is when you start to do that? Adapting to change.

personal archive - accepting change - being yourself advice

Accepting that change and realising that looking back on what you were then compared to now, is so important. I was listening to a podcast recently (Ladies Who Lunch, if you’re curious) and one of the ladies (who lunches, heh – Cat, I believe) said that she – as a YouTuber and online influencer – is glad that she has the ability to look back and see where she came from, because it’s an archive of her life and her journey.

We have this incredible ability to store the outfits and the hairstyles and the make-up looks and the places we went and the inspiration we found in our own personal archives. We are the curators of our own archives. It’s scary, sure… the idea that we’ll look back and regret decisions or cringe over them, but that’s the great thing about storing it all and utilising these tools – we can gradually accept change and we can look back after a few weeks and start going ‘Oh, well I wouldn’t do that now’. We have time to process change, and we really need to take advantage of that.

In response to my dad’s statement – you’re right. You won’t see many pictures of me in fluttery dresses and cardigans, but what you will see, is a timeline of the person I’ll become and a record of what not wearing those summery prints, means to me.

Do you find it hard to accept the fact you aren’t the same person you were last year? Are you happy with your personal archive so far? Let me know in the comments!

Turning Sixteen…

By May 19, 2016 My Style

Hello during this random blog post, the month and day of which coincide numerically with my expulsion from a uterus… yes, it’s my birthday! I’m officially sixteen… throw streamers, shoot out the confetti, pop the champagne (wait – can I drink that yet? 🤔) and get the balloons out because yeah, it’s my “sweet sixteenth”. Crazy, huh? I wonder if any of you have been here from the beginning? Let me know in the comments how long you’ve been reading! 1⃣6⃣ Today’s post is a little update! Hold on tight…

WHAT I WORE: Floral Denim Jacket (Jumble Sale) // Good Morning Sweatshirt (Wildfox)* // Blouse (Stradivarius) // Mom Jeans (Pull & Bear) // Mono Pascal Boots (Dr Martens) // Sunglasses (SCOUT)

Recently I’ve been having a bit of self-doubt, especially when it comes to my blog, so even though I know I shouldn’t, I’m going to apologise for the lack of content coming your way. I’m the sort of person who only really likes to put their best foot forward, or in this case, their best posts forward, so when I’m not especially proud of what I’m writing, I end up not publishing anything for a while. Luckily, I’m starting to realise that, that’s okay, but I just needed you to know, in case you’re wondering where I am at.

It always feels as if I have a lot more going on behind the scenes of my blog, rather than actually on it. For example, I just signed off the start of a new documentary style project that I’m going to be a part of (I can’t say much more just in case 1 – I’m not allowed, and 2 – something changes) and I’m still collaborating with different brands on upcoming features… it’s just the bit in between that I get a stuck with.

turning sixteen - ootd teen fashion blogger dr martens pull & bear

I know exactly the type of posts I want to put out, but it’s coming up with the individual ideas every four, or however many days. I also have to take into account that I’ve changed a lot in the past couple of years. My likes and dislikes have changed meaning that how I want to come across has been altered. At the moment I’m big on laid-back, carefree photography (inspired by film and polaroids) so my photoshopped profile pictures and header images don’t quite showcase that, do they?

Honestly, doing a whole overhaul of my blog has been on my mind recently… there are just several things in the way of stopping me, like formatting of old posts etc. I want readers to come to my blog and see who I am now rather than who I was before. I want to get rid of wishlist style posts and solely focus on my own, unique content. That‘s the dream.

But we can’t forget our origins, can we? Having all of my old posts creates an archive of all of the adventures and stories that have turned me into who I am, so stripping them away doesn’t show all of the hard work… it’s a real dilemma. I suppose what I’m trying to say is, right now, I think I need some time to figure everything out. I absolutely, one hundred percent, no doubt about it, want to keep my blog going, but I need to figure out how to keep it going.

So in the words of Tilly from Miranda; bear with, bear with, bear with.

Whistle For The Choir (The Fratellis) 🎶
Good Ol’ Fashion Nightmare (Matt and Kim) 🎶
Everyday (The Tragic Thrills) 🎶

I didn’t mean for this post to be quite so dramatic and rather depressing, but it’s actually lifted a weight off my shoulders, writing everything out for you to know. Today I’m going to relax and enjoy the day with my family (this will be my last birthday as an aunt to one – my next niece/nephew is on the way – woo!) and celebrate the fact that I’m still happy and healthy and going strong; because that’s all that matters, right?

Thank you for sticking with me over these past four (well, five birth) years, seeing me change and grow. It’s quite an exciting prospect that one day I’ll be able to look back on it all and see how I evolved into who I’m going to become. The great thing is, that even in these moments of doubt, I know I have you guys to spur me on!

My Style Editorial & GIVE-AWAY: Desert Rebelle*

By April 6, 2016 Competitions, My Style

Today’s My Style post is slightly more editorial hence the slightly wider post and the ‘read more’ button for those of you on my homepage. I’m super happy with these photos, so here’s a big shout out to Papa Posh and all his hard work. He’s been my photographer since the beginning and he’s come such a long way. I won’t be talking too much in this post, so just appreciate the mini shoot… and also a little give-away at the end!

Not only is this actual shoot rather editorial, but the outfit itself is kinda’ high-fashion inspired in my opinion. It’s mainly inspired by the desert with my gorgeous new Scotch R’Belle cap which itself has a desert inspired print with camels and pyramids making an appearance. It’s also got those floaty, wind catching vibes with the dress (which is one of my favourite recent purchases).

It’s still not perfectly warm and sunny at the moment, so I have a pair of leggings underneath, topped off with my trusty Nike trainers to tie in all of the colours. It’s sporty, it’s simple, but it still has a lot of depth and texture going on throughout. My new favourite combination, I think!

My Style: Public Outfit Display of Affection*

By March 6, 2016 My Style

The reason this outfit is having a public display of affection is because this is probably the most public My Style outfit shoot I’ve ever done. There were people looking for sure which definitely makes you feel a little weird but what can I say? This is the time of the internet, you should know the drill by now! I also just really love this outfit at the moment so it should have some affection, right? I hope you like it too!

I think this outfit sums up a lot of what I’ve been wearing recently. I am obsessed with blouses (I now own six – four long sleeve, two short sleeved) and they’re perfect for this time of the year where we’re not really sure what’s going on. It really messes with your mind because you think “Ooh, it looks lovely and warm and sunny today” and then you walk outside and regret your outfit choice immediately.

That means layering is a go to option, especially with sweatshirts and jumpers, which I also have a growing collection of. I especially love this one which I’ve had for a couple of years now (which you can probably work out due to the very scraggy loose threads around the arms) and it’s still going strong. It works perfectly with every style… grunge, minimalist, khaki seventies etc… it’s a very versatile piece, surprisingly!

In terms of the trousers, well let’s just say…. I AM IN LOVE. They’re very Valentino inspired, and although I don’t usually gravitate towards knock-offs, I absolutely loved these and I couldn’t resist them when they went into the sale. They’re so gorgeous and the style fits like a glove. I can also imagine wearing them on a summer evening so I’m sure they’ll work perfectly throughout the year.

To complete everything, I usually leave my blouse hanging loose for that kind of casual vibe (it also gives me an excuse for skipping out on ironing…). My hat ties in the black from the jumper, where the navy of the trousers clash and my shoes are just doing their usual awesome thing. Honestly, I only wear these and my Dr Martens. You don’t see me in any other shoes at all… no. joke.

Sing For The Wind (Roo Panes) 🎶

To finish off this post, here’s a little sneak peek of what I’ve been listening to recently. I’ve enjoyed adding these little elements to my posts so far this year and I hope you have been too! I love the “Little Giants” album by Roo Panes. Super relaxing but still some nice sing-a-long tunes too. “Because love’s a journey of a lifetime… and where you finish isn’t where you start…”

My Style: Woodland Bohemian Dreaming*

By January 24, 2016 My Style

So let’s start off by saying that this outfit probably seems quite different to the sorts of styles I featured in my aesthetics post… yes, it is quite different but firstly, it’s still rather retro with the seventies bohemian edge, but secondly, currently, this style is sort of the opposite side of the coin. It’s simple, with very little to it, but the print and style of the dress make-up for the lack of texture etc. You’ll see… you’ll see!

I’d had my eye on this dress for a while, so when it dropped down to a more reasonable price (for a teen), I knew I had to pick it up. As you’ve probably gathered from my previous outfit posts, I’m not really a huge dress wearer, so it’s quite unusual to see me so in awe of one… so this one of those rare occasions for sure!

It’s slightly brighter than on the website, but I don’t mind that because it’s blue, and I wear a lot of blue. Although the print is gorgeous, I can’t get over the fit and loose style. It’s going to be perfect for all year round… I mean, you could 100% pull of this look in summer time… maybe swap out the DMs (unless you’re feeling brave… your feet may boil) for some sandals and take off those cheeky little skin-coloured tights.

It’s a grown-up dress too… because I don’t own many dresses, it’s nice to pick out ones which are slightly more mature and real staples that I know I’ll have in my wardrobe for a long time. Ugh, I just love it. The splits too… I love a nice split!

OOTD My Style Outfit Seventies Bohemian ASOS Dress 1B99 Dr Martens

I can’t talk about anything else than this dress. It’s just not possible…. so I’ll talk about a different aspect just in case you’re interested. Yes, it’s made in India. But actually, this is one of the very few non-ethical/sustainable purchases I’ve made in quite some time. I picked up some trousers from Mötivi which were made in Italy (I was very happy when I found this out), and a jumper from Pull & Bear which was made in Portugal, and most of my other new additions to my wardrobe have either been gifts or second-hand.

I’m pretty chuffed, and as I’ve mentioned in previously, I personally think it’s more about quantity over completely changing your shopping habits. Take small steps, and you’ll get there.

NOW PLAYING: I. flight of the navigator (Childish Gambino) 🎶

Of course I can’t forget to mention these shoes though. I officially have three pairs of Dr Martens in my collection (four if you count the pair that don’t fit me anymore, on my display shelf) and I couldn’t be more happy about this addition. I’ve had my eye on this pair for a while (I tried them on in a shop a while ago and they fit like a glove) as well as the classic cherry red DMs which the Italians seem to love, but I think I’ll wait a little while until adding them.

This pair are the the 1B99’s which have 14 eyelets and hit me about mid calf/mid shin. I was tempted by the knee-high DMs, but surprisingly these are actually a lot higher than just the usual 6/8 eyelet boots. For those of you who stay away from higher boots due to being thin, I really wouldn’t worry about these as although they have a little gap on me (mind you I am super small), they fit perfectly without any problems.

Overall I love them and they match my dress just as I had imagined (I basically bought this dress just to pair them up), and I can’t wait to style them up with shorts in the warmer months. I would 100% recommend them if you’re a Dr Martens fan and are looking to add a different style/shape to your selection.

What do you think of this seventies bohemian inspired outfit? What sorts of things are you wearing at the moment? Leave a comment to let me know!

My Style: Back To School with Dr Martens*

By September 16, 2015 My Style

So… to give you a break from all the Mooi en Lief by Tolly Dolly Posh craziness, I’ve decided to treat you with an OOTD/chatty post about all things Dr Martens, because what could be better than that? Okay, well actually my socks do make an appearance in this post but they look pretty awesome in my opinion. So without further-a-do, let’s get back to school with Dr Martens!

~ THE OUTFIT ~

I wore a very similar combination of this outfit to dinner the other night (seriously though, it really does seem that the Italians only tend to eat pizza and pasta!) with a striped skirt instead of the denim dress but I actually kinda’ like this combo better. It’s very ‘ART student’-y and fits in well with the back to school vibe I was going for.

Over the past few months I feel like my style has really developed and I have to say that this is a very me outfit. It’s simple but strange; just how I like it. The top underneath is actually a dress from when I was about 6/7 years old (those aren’t really ¾ length sleeves, it’s just a really really old item of clothing – a pro (and con) of being extremely thin) but it works well as one of the very few items of black in my wardrobe. I popped on top this jumble sale find of a denim dress and there you have it!

Back To School Dr Martens AW15 Collection - Wanderlust 101

Back To School Dr Martens AW15 Collection - Wanderlust 101

Well, almost! For the main attraction I went for a Mooi en Lief by Tolly Dolly Posh (yes, my own collection of socks… eep!) and Dr Martens combo. I am honestly obsessed with how they both look together. The yellow stitching and the flowers… the colours… it’s a match made in heart-eye 😍 emoji heaven! I’m going to talk more about my love for DMs in a moment, so just take this time now to admire the beauty of my feet (weirdest sentence ever).

Also don’t forget to admire my backpack too… those straps though… #BackpackGoals? Is that a thing? Seriously though, if you’re looking for an indulgent purchase (buy my socks – I’m kind of kidding) definitely check out this backpack. Too. darn. beautiful. Oh and of course, if you’re looking for some Wellington boots, defo’ check out Mooi en Lief’s range.

~ THE BOOK ~

I also wanted to mention the new Dr Martens book. I have to be honest and say that I still have a couple of pages left, but all-in-all, “A History of Rebellious Self-Expression”* has been so interesting. If you’re a big DMs fan like me, then you’ll adore it… but it is also an awesome read for anyone interested in the many different musical sub-cultures throughout the decades from the 1960s – nowadays. It has a lot of information on the topics and how they made a deep impression on the rise of the Dr Martens brand.

I would definitely recommend picking it up. It’s only £10 ($15) and 50p (around $0.77 I believe) from every copy goes to the Joe Strummer Foundation, so not only are you getting an excellent read, but you’re also helping out an awesome musical charity. Sounds good, huh? It’s also made me feel extremely proud to be a DMs wearer. There is so much history behind the brand that genuinely blows my mind. It’s crazy!

~ THE CAMPAIGN ~

I definitely couldn’t write this blog post without leaving out something pretty awesome – the #STANDFORSOMETHING campaign. Dr Martens are just like me – they love self-expression (hence the book’s name ‘A History of Self-Expression’) which is a big reason for their campaign which you may have seen floating around on the internet. Dr Martens are asking you “What do you stand for?” so that you can have a big think as to what makes you, you.

Also I think if you log onto Facebook and share your style and what you stand for, you can win some DMs… pretty darn cool!

Personally, I stand for diversity. I was going to say ‘for being me’ but I think diversity sums it up better. I stand for being unique and expressing who you really are, because after all, that’s what’s most important to me. I stand for every single individual who believes in being who they want to be. I stand for the diverse array of human beings that are standing on this planet just doing what they do best.

What do you stand for? Are you ready to go back to school and have you got your Dr Martens (and Mooi en Lief by TDP socks) at the ready? Let me know in the comments!

(This is not a sponsored/advertorial post. I was kindly sent some samples by Dr Martens but all opinions are 100% honest. I just really love DMs! You can read my full disclaimer here.)

Changing With The Seasons #5 – July, Summer*

By July 26, 2015 My Style

I’m sorry that of my very few recent posts, that today’s is another outfit, but I didn’t want to miss this month’s Changing With The Seasons post, so I just had to pop this up. I really hope you don’t mind! I’ll try and have some different kinds of posts up soon… I’m just still trying to get my mojo back. Anyway, here’s how to dress for summer…

Okay, let’s just jump to it… THIS. TWO. PIECE. I don’t even care if 99% of this post is just all about the jacket and skirt, because looook. at. it. You won’t believe this when I say it, but I picked this up for £5.00 at a jumble sale. It fits like a glove and it is just stunning. I probably styled it in a bit of an odd way, but I was just too excited to share it that I had to include it.

The print is just beautiful and gives that sort of modern vibe even though the set is obviously vintage. I’d say it is probably an 80s/90s piece due to the baggy arms and oversized feel, but I honestly don’t mind at all. I think it’s going to be so fun to style, especially as you can wear the jacket and skirt separately. No doubt you’ll see it in a future #OOTD!

Now let’s talk about what’s underneath (okay, well erm… I probably worded that wrongly)… firstly, the top. This is actually a fairly old ASOS purchase, which I don’t tend to wear as it’s a fairly scratchy material but I think it worked well for an added contrast of colour.

Next up, where is the blue skirt? It’s like the Where’s Wally? of an outfit post… but it’s fairly simple. So I didn’t cheat, and stayed tied up with the CWTS series, I popped the skirt underneath my new floral denim number and created a faux pleated hem. What d’ya think? Yay or nay?

And as I like to do for this lil’ series, here’s my video! It’s just a fun way to show you what the outfit’s really like on and get a bit creative. I think I may have had the exposure settings a bit wrong with this one, so sorry about the darkness, but I think it’s okay… I hope you enjoy a very rare YouTube appearance from me.

Hopefully I’ll be back soon with a very exciting announcement (hopefully) so do stay tuned! I think August is going to be a very busy and eventful month so hopefully in September I’ll be back to my usual self again, brimming with ideas and hopefully posting more designed based posts. That’s my goal! Until then… speak soon 🙂

I’ve decided that this is a very “me” outfit. I always take a fairly ordinary outfit and make it weird somehow by adding a bold (and beautiful) skirt, but hey ho! The most “normal” (I mean really, is there such a thing as “normal”?) piece in this outfit is my new Good Morning Wildfox jumper which I am simply in love with! Grey slogan tops are such a simple way to pull an outfit together and this is my most recent addition to my collection. I love the slouchy vibes and the frayed edges. What d’ya think?

The more “weird” part of this outfit is my crazy skirt which was a jumble sale find, from ages ago. I absolutely love it… once again, it has a rather slouchy fit to it like the jumper, but the print makes up for the casual vibes. I love how floaty it is and it probably is one of my favourite skirts to date.

To be quite honest, I’d probably only wear the jumper with this outfit, in the evenings, so to make it a bit more daytime friendly, I also wore my Super crop top, which still keeps the slogan in there. I also like how it pops out on your shoulder when you are wearing the sweatshirt on top!

That GIF took me way too long to make, so you better watch it about 10 billion times and truly appreciate it. Look at that spin! I’m a ballerina. Like, a legit ballerina…. I kid. Although, I did use to be! I think it lasted a year when I was about 4, so it probably doesn’t really count but erm… oh well!

Sunglasses time! I’m a big sunglasses fan, so when I see a pair I like, I take them… quite literally in fact. I’m pretty sure Mama Posh has no idea that these have been stolen adopted by me! I love the vibe they give off though… they have that retro French feel to them and they make me feel pretty bad-ass when paired with a black floppy hat. I’m not sure they’re available to buy now though, I’m afraid! I think they’ve possibly been in my mum’s drawer for a few years…

Finally, the shoes… this pair are not only good looking, comfortable and affordable, but they’re also great for making my tan look a bit darker than it really is. I can definitely count it as one, right? 2 days at the beach in one week, can do that, can’t it? Speaking of shoes, I recently passed on my floral Dr Martens as they were too small and now I really want a new pair… must resist!

Is it full on summer where you are now? What have you been wearing in the sunshine? Let me know in the comments so we can chat!

Fast Food Fashion: Coca-Cola Float*

By June 12, 2015 My Style

I’m sorry I’ve been quiet for a few days, but it’s actually felt quite good to just let my blog sit for a while. I hope you didn’t miss me too much! 😉 Today I have the penultimate outfit in my mini fast food fashion series. Have you been enjoying it? I hope so! This is all about the drinks… well soft drinks, just to reassure you. I’m talking coke/coca-cola floats and all things yummy. Hmm yeah!

🍼 WHAT I WORE: Diet Coke T-Shirt (Truffle Shuffle) // Structured Grey Skirt (Glamorous)* // White Platform Heels (Vagabond @ Mastershoe)* // Sundae Socks (ASOS)* // Milkshake Clutch (New Look) 🍼

This outfit is super, super simple, but I feel like when styled in the right way, it has a sort of minimalistic aesthetic to it. I received this t-shirt when I won an ASOS voucher over on Hayley’s blog (she’s an awesome beauty blogger if any of you are interested) in collaboration with Diet Coke and I knew it would be perfect for this segment. It’s very oversized but paired with my structured skirt, the bagginess of it is counteracted.

I never really wear simple outfits because I always end up “ruining” (well, not really) them with weird pieces like the accessories I choose. It works in my mind though, it’s a little bit of this and that, mixed and stirred with my usually random personality…!

Talking of the accessories, I went for that New Look milkshake clutch, and I love how it picks out the colours from the rest of the outfit. Again, it’s a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Much like how you would make a coke float actually… a little bit of Coca-Cola and a little bit of ice cream! Hmm, they always remind me so much of the unlimited amounts my family and I would devour on holidays to Greece. Always take advantage of unlimited things!

Finally, let’s talk shoes. You all probably know about my love for these chunky platform Vagabonds, but heck, why not talk about them again? They’re a dream okay. If you like the look of heels but not the idea, get these! So comfy, amazing quality and also… they’re on sale! I paired them with these cheeky socks which are just the cherry on top (see what I did there?!). What d’ya think? 🍼

Changing With The Seasons #4 – May, Spring*

By May 31, 2015 My Style

Ah! My first outfit post as a 15 year old… how weird?! This post actually has a couple of my birthday prezzies in it, which I absolutely love (and obviously am very grateful for). Thanks for all the birthday wishes by the way, and all of your awesome comments on my 15 things blog posts… it really makes me smile when you take the time to leave one, so don’t stop, okay? 😉 Want to hear my thoughts on how to dress for spring? WHAT I WORE: Mesh Grid Top £18.00 (Blue Vanilla)* // Beige Top – Underneath – (Jennyfer) // Blue Skirt (H&M) // Apple Juice Bag (Accessorize) // Floral Headband (Accessorize) // Necklace (Accessorize) Suede Flats (Accessorize)

This an outfit which I’m actually really happy with. It’s pretty cutesy but then it still caters for my style and the simple elements of things which I’m loving right now. It also caters for the weather perfectly… it’s finally warm enough for my legs to be out without tights, and my arms to be (almost) sleeve free! YAY!

The top is a number I received from Blue Vanilla, and it’s actually surprisingly awesome. I do have to admit that the fabric is rather plastic-y and when I originally unfolded it from the packaging, I had to actually pull it apart. Other than that, the design is lovely and I like the mix between grid, mesh and florals.

One of my birthday presents was this absolutely adorable across-body bag in the shape and style of an apple juice carton… HOW CUTE?! I’d actually seen this on the Accessorize site before so when I peeled back the wrapping paper I was so happy to see it was underneath.

I also realised that the colours on the bag matched the rest of the outfit perfectly. The wording is dark blue just like the Changing With The Seasons, H&M skirt (you guys voted for it!) and the tiny little leaf detailing matches the mint from the top. The little details people, it’s all about the little details…

Finally, even more details. My shoes are my new favourite pair; another birthday gift which I am obsessed with. I’d say they’re my first pair of proper grown up flats, as usually they don’t fit due to my feet being so skinny mini, but luckily these fit like a dream with no rubbing. They’re also suede which makes them look super fancy. I just love them!

I also have this super cute necklace which was another birthday treat which I picked out myself. My sister has a similar one, so when I saw this blue version I knew it had to be mine! It matches all the colours once again, and I like how it compliments my floral headband too. Ahh, can you tell I like this outfit?
